I loved this restaurant. My bf and I ordered dinner the other night and if you frequent here you know it's not cheap. I was expecting quality and got subpar. I reached out and was speaking to the back end and was told that they were sorry for the quality and quantity of food and that they would mail me a gift card. I am attaching a photo of receipt of how much we ordered. We ordered a chocolate cake, the photo online showed a massive slice of cake, ours looked as if someone cut half of it off where the cake is supposed to be pointed. $12 for half a cake. My bfs meal was supposed to come with two sides. He ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were in with the steak and it was a small portion that looked like a small ice cream scoop, ribeye ($49.00). We did not get the Cole slaw. We ordered a house side salad. It was literally a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some of the sides. ($14.00) I ordered the steak frites (34.00) the fries were fine, my steak had these weird pieces (see photo) inside, that were veins or ligaments but def not edible and very chewy and gross. I chewed a few pieces and kept having to over chew and then would spit out the pieces because it was rubbery, after the second piece I noticed the texture and then spit it out, then saw whatever it was that was causing the texture and issue. Seeing that immediately made me lose my appetite. So I was left hungry and turned off by my meal and filled up on calamari and fries. I have ordered this before and it usually comes with a nice amount of slices. Mine came with four pieces of sliced steak. We ordered the calamari and had no complaints. The back end comes to my house and drops off a GC of $25.00! Which to me is an insult. For that they can keep their cheap cop out. I will not be back. We spent $134.00 and tipped $19.00 for a take out order. And all they could give us back for a terrible experience and quality of food was $25.00?! Their salad alone was $14. The cake is $12. So basically come back spend more money and we will cover one simple thing but several of your items were sub par and or gross. I would not recommend. This restaurant took a lot of money and did the bare minimum to fix the issue and threw a minimum amount to appease the customer. But didn't mind taking my hard earned money, which I will now spend elsewhere. I also will be mailing back the card. Whoever came to my condo to drop off the gift card came at midnight. Which to me is weird and an odd time to come to someone's house. I have it on security video. read more

Recently went to Burtons to eat and yap with some girlfriends, and I think we found our new go to spot! Service was amazing from the time we walked in to the time we left. We asked the host for an odd favor and not only did she honor it, but also followed up well after we were seated. Our server, Josh, was so knowledgeable on the menu items (both food and beverages) and gave the best recommendations. Our drinks were delicious and strong, and the food was reasonably priced and pretty tasty. We left stuffed and had to go boxes so you can say you get a bang for your buck. We did have an issue with one of our entrees, but it was quickly handled with care. All in all, zero complaints. Burtons is a solid choice for a casual restaurant. read more

1st time eating here, and got the Maxx burger which was solid. The patty needed some more beef flavor, but all the ingredients were great quality (brioche bun, pickles, sauce). Will definitely fill you up. The true stand out were the fries which I upgraded to Parmesan truffle style. Crispy and great flavor. The chocolate cake was too thick when it came out. And the ice cream was meh (do not get à la mode). Overall, would not recommended the dessert unless you're really craving something sweet. I'll say the cake tasted much better after 30 mins since it had softened more. The service was great. My waiter Josh was amazing, checking up on me to make sure I had everything. A solid grill to grab a bite. The burger was juicy but almost too big for a graceful bite! While the burger was good, it's not something that would keep me coming back again and again. I always have a good time at this Burtons, all the staff that we interacted with were pleasant and accommodating. I love the flavor and the fry on the calamari. I forgot the name of the drink I ordered but it was lime flavored, it was very tasty and refreshing, unfortunately a fruit fly did decide to have a taste as well, fortunately the staff replaced it for me! My friend's steak was cooked and seasoned beautifully, but we weren't fans of the hash browns he got, the one that came with my brunch burger was much better. I loved how crispy and thin my fries were, and I loved that aioli on my burger so much I suggested they bottle it and sell it. While on a budget, we deduced that Burton's would be our place to splurge for our Christmas Eve dinner choice. I regret nothing. The cocktail was one of, if not the, best cocktails I've ever had. The flavors were perfect, and I was completely captivated. That's all I have in terms of photos, because my light weight butt got tipsy and didn't take pictures of my steak frites - which was hands down THE BEST steak I've ever had. Preparation, flavor, tenderness - this Kansas City native fell in love. Service was lovely and friendly, and the bar area was lively with others celebrating the holidays. We walked in early evening in a Monday and was seated quickly without a reservation. But the place was filling up by the time we left. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was great but the chips were only average. For the main course we had a filet, pasta Bolognese, and a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious. The filet was fabulous. Melted in your mouth like butter. Both the pasta and the cheeseburger held their own. Wonderful interior with comfortable seating and a spacious bar. Our server, Chelsea, did a great job. At Burton's on a Friday night after a long while. It was busy place packed with young, old and families. A very welcoming set up with good waitering staff. Food was very good and exceeded expectations. Dishes came in hot, well plated and a plentiful. Prices are mid range. Restaurant is located at Kentlands where there are many good dining options. We had a Mediterranean chicken risotto, a chicken Milanese Alfredo, a crab coated haddock. They were all outstanding dishes. The kitchen knew how to prepare white meat and seafood that are succulent and flavorful. The decibel level can be a bit loud but still manageable. Tables have enough space between them to allow for comfort. No problem finding parking. read more

Looking for a variety of delicious Gluten Free entrees? Burtons Grill and Bar does a fantastic job of providing loads of choices for people with gluten allergies. They have salads, meals, and appetizers all marked plainly GF or GFV, which means they have a Gluten Free Version available. That makes it so easy for people with gluten free allergies to get tasty meals. Service was great! Our waitress was exceptional and had a great sense of humor. It did take a little while to get our meals, but when you have to take extra precautions for allergies, that is understandable. We ordered the burger, which was huge and well cooked. It was delicious. So, were the fries that accompanied our order. They were hot and crispy. The restaurant itself has dark wood and a modern aesthetic. It was clean and comfortable. We decided to try Burton's on a Saturday evening with no reservations. We were told we would be sat in 15-20 minutes. We ended up waiting closer to 30 minutes and weren't sat until we started waiting inside. It was super hectic night it seemed with a lot of larger parties coming in. We were greeted 5 minutes after seating. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. Now the food - it's not bad but I expect more for the price point. Our calamari for appetizers was LEAKING oil. We went for lunch on a Monday so it wasn't too busy and had amble seating. Very family friendly ambiance and natural lit from the windows. They had a lunch special where you can pick 2 items from their list of soup, salad, and sandwiches which was great value and a good lunch size if you're not too hungry. We got their she-crab soup which was very creamy and had lumps of crab meat in it. We also got the chicken picatta and short rib grilled cheese. Both were great and had generous amount of meat. This was my 2nd time here. First time was a good experience. This time was just the opposite. Made a 4pm reservation for Mother's Day. Got there at 3:55. It was about ten minutes and we we still waiting for our table. They wanted to give us a tiny booth at the bar. I said I'd prefer to eat in the dining room as I did make a reservation. When we finally sat down we waited an additional ten minutes and not one person approached our table, not even to provide water. I finally flagged down a staffer and asked them if they can locate our server. Was told that no server was assigned to us. Finally our server did show up. We had no problem with our server, she was delightful. After dinner we decided to share a key lime pie. When it came to our table, the pie looked like it was under baked. The entire top layer was soupy as if I were eating melted ice cream. We notified our server and she told us her manager said that all the key lime pies for today would be that way What a horrible answer to give a customer. At the very least, apologize to us and take that item off the menu for the day. People can get sick eating this. Very bad experience overall. Again. Nothing against our server but staff and management need to do a better job. Especially at their prices. We've dined here about half a dozen times here now and it's been a pretty solid experience overall. The apps and entrees are generally tasty and flavorful. I personally like the variety of the menu. One consistent standout is the MAXX Burger. It's well-seasoned and juicy, and the sauce is amazing. And the staff are generally friendly. Having said that, I was very disappointed with my recent order of the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. For a $40 dish, I expected a much higher standard. There were absolutely no visible pieces of lobster and a total of five shrimps in the entire plate. It was so basic and it might as well be called "Shrimp Pasta" and cost $25 at most. I took the time to fill out the customer survey the restaurant requested but never received any acknowledgment or response. Maybe it's just an automated procedure that's disregarded. We generally enjoyed our experiences and will probably continue to dine here. I just hope the restaurant adds the ingredient that's specified in the name and value customer feedback surveys more in the future. read more

Love the length and variety of the Gluten Free menu! Had a late lunch here last month. The she-crab soup blew my mind because it was so delicious, and it was served good and hot. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium rare, as requested) and was very flavorful (even the bun was good, which isn't always true for GF bread products). Truffle fries were yummy. The Mediterranean Chicken Risotto was good (it could have used more artichoke) and the serving was generous. We ordered the fish sandwich and lava cake to go (a dinner). Great service and ambiance with a high top ceiling, Burton's grill does everything right in the that department. As for the food, every food option was great but nothing really truly excelled in my honest opinion. Lobster, scallops, and risotto were all a bit overcooked and chewy if I'm being picky. That was the first and the last time I ever go to Burtons. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, it was very, very dry. In fact, there was practically no sauce on it. When I asked the server for some additional sauce, she came back and explained that the chef Said that there would be a four dollar charge for the extra sauce. I was surprised because I've never had to pay extra for not liking a meal before. Eventually, the manager came over and apologized and some extra Alfredo sauce was brought to our table. Apparently. The chef was actually one of the managers who was adamant about the sauce. But we were told we would not be charged extra for my sauce. Honestly, the sauce didn't make it taste good. I barely ate it. I don't know if it was because I was already upset because it was actually just really not good. I was offered a free dessert as and I quote the server- This will make up for it. We will give you dessert. Nothing could make up for the bad taste in my mouth from having to argue for additional sauce for my meal. Let alone for the bad taste of the food. In the end, they did take the cost of my uneaten meal off of the bill, It was explained that the calculation for the suggested tip was based on what the check would have been had the free dessert not been offered, and had the free inedible meal not been free. And what made it even nicer is that the server stood there while I made my tip selection. Oh sure, she said the tip wasn't mandatory as she stood hovering over watching. Yes the water refills were plentiful. And nobody else at my table was as disappointed as I in their meal, but it was just a rotten experience. I was not at all interested in having the two managers play good cop, bad cop, or having the server explain every aspect of the conversation she had with the chef. I've been here many times food always good BUT! I was there for lunch on the 14th. I ordered the short rib hash. The color was not inviting had no flavor many of the shredded pieces of beef were hard. The colored looked as though the entire dish was burned. The butternut squash soup was runny not creamy no salt watery in fact. I did not send it back. Butternut squash usually is creamy a hint of sage and not thick but not runny NO flavor truly disappointed. I came to Burtons for the first time with some friends and I have to say this will be the last time. The ambiance does seem nice, it was empty when we came and they have nice seating areas. But my point of concern what that our waiter was visibly drunk, which is insane. The waiter came up and introduced themselves but was stumbling with their words and we could barely understand them. They took our order but couldn't write it down and my party had to repeat the order 3 times because they couldn't comprehend or write anything down. The table next to us also had the same waiter and we could hear them also realize the waiter was drunk. Thankfully after a while another waiter came to switch and was able to finally put in our food order. Both the food & service are excellent. During a recent lunch, the sandwich bread was super-fresh. Topping the sandwich plate, I ordered a desert consisting of a ball of ice cream covered by a chocolate sauce. The dish came with a small pitcher of warm expresso to pour over the ice cream. The food at Burtons Grill and Bar was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend trying this place if you want to try a fantastic meal. For appetizers we ordered the Firecracker shrimp and spinach and artichoke dip, which both were very good. Then we tried the Summer Berry salad, which had fresh ingredients. After I ordered the halibut with cream sauce, white rice, and green beans, which was very tasty. It was one of their specials off their menu so they don't have this dish all the time. My husband ordered the California chicken for lunch and he enjoyed his sandwich and said he would order it again. The service was prompt and friendly, so we had a nice dining experience. The ambiance is casual, but upscale with the clean and modern decorations. This restaurant is located in the Kentlands with plenty of parking in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. read more
