The menu offered a few different foods with multiple choices on sizes (by the ounce), and the lovely hostess taking our order was delightful. We had a really hard time deciding what to get as everything looked reeeeeeally good, but we opted to split the following: *Bacon Hash -- 4 oz for $4 -- well worth it! *Barnyard chili -- 8 oz for $7 -- pricy yet tasty *Jicama Tacos (one chicken guac and one chorizo aioli) -- 2 for $7 -- messy but pretty good *Fudge bites for dessert -- $3 for one -- dark chocolate, peanut butter, banana, sea salt, and applesauce mixed and formed in to a hockey-puck type solid mass. It was not really sweet like I expected, and kind of hard to eat. Probably wouldn't get it again. Next time I will totally get the Brussels Sprouts for myself when not sharing with the hubs :) I would say overall this was a 3 1/2 star experience for me as it was over $20 for 'snacks' and we were still hungry afterwards, but a star bump for using real, quality ingredients.

Still, I'll support a paleo food truck when the truck has "bacon (greater than) gluten" painted on the side of it. That's one way to get my attention for sure! On our visit my boyfriend and I shared two tacos--one chicken, one chorizo--fried plantains, and the brussel sprouts. I have so many nice things to say about all three. Instead of corn or flour, Caveman Truck uses fresh jicama as a tortilla to hold its protein + slaw + guac/aioli. It's the perfect starchy alternative to cut through the good greasiness of the chorizo. The plantains are not only fried in coconut oil beautifully, but also they are caked with a curry-based seasoning, providing you with a sweet plantain that also has some savory elements to it. The brussel sprouts--my favorite of the three--are fried in coconut oil and topped with an overload of crumbled bacon and a spritz of lime. It's a little bit of fatty, a little bit of zesty and a whole lot of flavor. All three dishes knocked it out of the park. From here on out, I'll be keeping an eye out for the Caveman Truck on the streets of Indy, because I still need to try the highly-praised barnyard chili and bacon hash. If this is how our ancestors ate, then I can't wait to eat the primal way again!

At yesterday's Statehouse Market in downtown Indy, I finally got a chance to try out The Legendary…read moreKitchen. This is a food truck that comes out of Franklin, Indiana's Legends Golf Club. It's decorated in a light golf theme with colorful graphics and a fun spirit. It's got two windows - an ordering window and a pick-up window - and it's definitely a rather large food truck. The menu here was fairly simple with some basic American classics including a hand-breaded tenderloin, hand-breaded spicy chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken salad (I sense a theme going on here), a basket of fries, some drink options, and it seems like there are some other options that occasionally surface on the menu. The Legendary offers meals - so, for example, the sandwiches generally come with fries. I opted to order chicken tenders with fries for $13. They had 3 sauces - barbecue, honey mustard, and one other I'm forgetting. I had barbecue. There was a decent wait in the line, though that's certainly not on The Legendary. Once I ordered, things were ready fairly quickly and they were actually served hot. I will say that the plate-type container used is a little flimsier than I would like. I opted to eat outside, but even when I tried to carry it to the trash I had trouble doing so. The employees were friendly. They were busy, but maintained a nice professional decorum. I was honestly amazed at the generosity of the serving. I would almost call the chicken "slabs" rather than "tenders." They were nicely sized, fresh, clearly hand-breaded, and absolutely delicious. I usually complain about the elevated prices at a food truck, but I'd pay $13 for this food anywhere. The fries were nicely seasoned. They were sort of steak fries - definitely thicker - and they perfectly complemented the tenders. If I were to compile a list of my top 5 Statehouse Market meals, there's no doubt this meal would be on it. I loved everything about it. In fact, the only reason I might not order it again was because it was actually such a generous serving that I could barely eat it all. While I will admit I wish the plate situation was a tad more stable, this is a 5-star experience all the way. I'd love to see Yelp's Rick G., a tenderloin blogger in real life, try this tenderloin out. I think it may very well be the rare food truck tenderloin to be worth your time. There's no doubt I'll definitely be back.

I totally recommend this!…read more Honestly, what got my attention here was the Cuban Fry Mix because it was sweet potato fries and regular fries. I absolutely love love love fries so my husband went and ordered them only for me. I was so touched Cuban Fry Mix - The flies themselves were absolutely phenomenal! So perfectly crispy and not too greasy either. Such a creative idea of mixing both the fries and they actually went really well together. Proper sweet salty vibes! Classic Cubano Sandwich - First time trying a Cuban sandwich and it was actually very nice. Properly loaded with meat and the flavors went well together. It can get quite heavy though because it's quite a big sandwich so be prepared for that! Definitely a nice one to save leftovers though! One down side of this place as a whole though is that they don't offer customizations. I was hoping they could stop out something on the menu for something else or pair some two different items in a combo but they were not able to do that.

So funny story, a couple months back I was ordering just drinks and the person taking my order asked what I wanted to eat instead of will that be all. My brain wasn't fast enough and I panicked and said the first thing that I saw on the menu. It was Cuban nachos. I would never in a million years have ordered Cuban nachos as I'm not a huge fan of the sandwich (I'm a foodie yes, but I have the pallet of like a...17 year old) l. So I got my drinks and the weird looking nachos with tiny cubes of pickles and mustard in them? They. Were. Ah-maaaazing! I would never have thought they were be good but the cosmos must have known I would love them. Ordering them was a very happy accident! The crispy tortilla chips, the warm salty pulled pork, covered in pickle cubes and swished with mustard. O my god it a perfect bite every time and the flavors just bouce gleefully on your tongue. They don't have the nachos anymore but the fries Cuban is just as good. I go to Palavana every time I got to The Garage.
