4 stars for the vets BUT awful experience with admin - My…read morefamily including our dogs have been VCA folks for many pets over the years across many VCA hospitals in the U.S., mainly because of our experience originally here with VCA Centreville! Most recently, l've come back to this VCA because of Dr Keeley being Fear Free Certified. Olivia is also wonderful with my dogs, no matter if they're fearful or reactive. HOWEVER, if this review didn't include them, it'd be absolutely 0 stars for my interactions with their administration vet assistant Cassidy. She contradicts processes that I've been told by other admin staff leading to confusion, is unkind to my animals, is rude to fellow staff including speaking badly about them to me while they're out of the room, and is not communicative at all to other staff members or owners leading to confusion and a generally off-putting experience. I have no issue at all if there's an appointment running long & we need to reschedule for another time or something like that - I have an issue with how she speaks to people, staff & owners alike. Telling an owner things you don't like about the vet or vet tech is really inappropriate and needs to be handled without involving clients. I've been to so many VAs and never had this awful of an interaction, even leading to confrontation. If not for Olivia and Dr Keeley, I would've stopped coming here because I don't want Cassidy near my animals or me or frankly in any customer/client-facing role.

We've been clients there for a handful of years. From the beginning we've made it very clear how…read moreanxious and nervous our pup is because of abuse as a puppy. He has even boarded here for the last two summers. When we dropped him off last week, there was an incident with him being taken back, not in the protocol that was put into place for him. On top of that we were told when we called to check on him that he is untrustworthy and unpredictable. The people that were working in boarding all week seem to not be working in boarding normally and being pulled from other departments for lack of employees. We didn't get any updates on our dog unless we called. We were given attitude by several people. I expected more considering they're the professionals with animals, but they made it seem as though they were being inconvenienced by housing my dog. The final candle on the cake was when I went to pick him up and a male brought him out, which says clearly in his chart that no men are supposed to bring him out. So at this point, it appears as though no one at VCA cares about the well-being of my animal or the safety of their employees.

Customer was very happy. Niki was behind the desk. Friendly and reassuring with all my questions answered. Was happy to learn a discount for my second pet would be given. We set up an appointment. I have two fluff balls, they were due for their exams and vaccines. When I arrived there for the appointment, Niki was there again. Friendly and even remembered my name. Prompt and on time took my girls, and said the Veterinarian would call and explain there exams and findings. Alittle over an hour later I received a call... He was very patient in explaining about each of my kittys. And took the time to answer a few questions that arose. I learned both my kitty's are considered obese. Sushi a bit more than Saki. They enjoy eating too ! I highly recommend this location. It was very clean and surprisingly could not tell they had animals there at all, very fresh inside. They handled my girls with care and affection. ( how I know? my kitty's are indoors, they have had very little contact with others due to traveling the states with me. Their personality hadn't changed at all - in the pass at these appointments, they would seem a bit off for 1 day or 2)... ...............so with that being said, don't give it another thought...if you furry friends are in need ...heres the place !!! Brought in our cat for his updated vaccines, and for an injured paw. They were great, super fast…read moreand helpful. We were able to get him treated for the paw, and get the vaccines in one trip. I also appreciated that we were able to physically see the costs up front, before checking out to know exactly what we are paying care wise! Upon arrival they had the incubator ready for him. The team was kind and attentive and were able to watch him overnight until I could have him seen by a specialist in the am. The one thing about VEG is the open door policy except during X-rays... otherwise you can see what's going on with your pup from bring given anesthetic , through the whole procedure and till they wake up. There may be a bit delay at first which once I voiced my concern they were able to switch things around and doing 2 different procedures on 2 patients at once. Yes they did have 2 vets ready that night. And were taking 9pm onward. They managed to successfully find and remove the skewer by scope procedure and stay for another hour to be monitored before we left to go home at 3am. Thank you, VEG!

When he instructed us to call back with an update, we did so and never heard back. Went to another nearby clinic and the Dr. was much more friendly and even playful with the pup. This is a small friendly veterinary clinic. We originally came here when we adopted a stray kitten…read moretwo years ago. She had been living in a neighbor's garage and was in rough shape - malnourished, fleas, worms and ear mites. This was the only vet that could see us immediately and I'm so glad we ended up here. They are tremendously kind and compassionate. When the kitten escaped and climbed up inside the car seat (a long story) they came out to help get her out. Loaned us a carrier. Really just have consistently gone above and beyond. We have been clients ever since and would not consider taking our fur babies anywhere else. This visit was for our older cat who had a cut above her eye. Doc had her diagnosed in less than 5 minutes (ear infection and she scratched herself trying to make it feel better) noticed she also had some gum issues, got us all set up with antibiotics and ear drops and we were finished in under half an hour. Perfect when you have to fit a vet visit into your lunch hour. The place is super clean and we've never felt overcharged. Bottom line, if you're looking for a vet that really cares this is where you want to go.

Last night, Glenkirk Animal Hospital moved into the 5+ star category. We brought our 16 year old cat in because we had serious concerns about his health and quality of life lately. I was really struggling with the decision of when was the right time to end his life peacefully. Dr. K sat on the floor with our first fur baby for 40 minutes, observing him and talking us through options. She spoke with such unhurried kindness, she helped me feel at peace with our decision. We cannot thank the hospital enough for the time and kindness she and her assistant, Chris, spent with us.

Over the years, I've met many vets, but none compare to him. He truly cares about your pets and only prescribes the necessary medications or food, never pushing unnecessary products. Even though his clinic is now a 40-50 minute drive from me (it used to be just 5 minutes away), it's always worth the trip because I know Dr. Naqi will provide the best care for my dogs. The vet here try to make me feel guilty as I didn't wanted that blood test as it wasn't recommended before. Suddenly I stop by for a refill and a follow up and is an extra $60 for a blood test. I had a family emergency so I decided to try again today. They draw his blood and they wanted to charge me $100 plus. When I asked the front person responded that it was a different vet that draw the blood and recommended the full panel. Really? How come as I never saw a vet today??? Unless is an emergency I'll not come back here ever again. I started coming here as the Hart foundation comes here with their rescue vet and the first vet that I saw was rally nice. However not a great experience after.

I have a cat named George. George has had a problem for all his time with me (12 of his 13 years)…read morewith licking the hair off his belly and legs. The first vet I went to in Bristow said maybe he had food allergies and we tried a crazy single novel protein food routine for three months- but it was clear it was not that. It seemed to die down after a time, but every couple of years would flare. The common thought by several vets was that he was anxious (as he got older he got more limited in his appreciation of my husband so prob partially true). He also did not ever travel well in the car although he never seemed to mind the destination even if it was the vet. He was a good patient. Flash forward to about 4 years ago, my vet at the time told me to give him a certain medication all of the time. After two months, much of his hair had grown back, but still from time to time would still lick his hair off ( he started doing the sides of his body where his tongue could reach) . Finally fast forward to Stonewall- they did ask the same types of questions but in conclusion they said he had allergies. I've always thought that since he would get red eyes, and a little redness around his mouth and would itch like crazy esp for an inside cat. After a scheduled 5 day road-trip across the country, they recommended the same medication but in higher doses for the trip since he is an anxious traveller. Well, let me just tell you the strategy and him in a crate in the back of the Jeep worked like a dream. Now in my new place, they have helped me keep a supply of his medicine and I am most appreciative of the effort they put forward to this end. Thanks to everyone at Stonewall for helping my George get thru this ordeal and for care during the time I lived locally.
