I'm honestly sad :( writing this because Bushi Bushi has been one of my go to spots I've been a few times and always loved it. This last visit just wasn't it. The stir fried rice noodles tasted like old oil, and I couldn't even eat them. The sweet & sour dumplings were meh! The pork dumplings as well... , nothing special. The orange chicken wasn't spicy at all and had too much cartilage, which made it hard to eat. The spring rolls were super crispy and tasty . Service was also pretty rough, even though an older gentleman (maybe the owner) was very nice and checked on us. We usually go to the Addison location but we live closer to the frisco one now so we tried it and we're disappointed. The flavors were good/similar to the Addison location but it was overpowered by salt. Everything else we got was so salted. The soup dumplings (pork and crab & pork truffle) Peking duck, duck sauce, bbq pork were almost inedible. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce helped ease the salt bomb. We drank more water than ate lol it's sad bc I know how much I love Bushi bushi and know how good it is. read more

It was not hot when it came out. Very lukewarm. The sweet soy sauce was salty which is okay for me. Egg drop soup - salty as well but okay Peking duck half size does not come with a soup. Would have to order the full size to get it two ways. It's a small half size duck. Overall 3.5. Food was underwhelming. Would not come back after trying for the first time. This place will become our favorite for Dim Sum. We were close to the area so thought of going for some Dim Sum this came on our Yelp feed so thought of checking it out... Nice decor & good seating area. Upon entering we were seated very quickly & told to Scan & order from the phone it was very convenient. They have a huge menu. We ordered our favorites & also some hot & sour soup to warm up . All the dishes were excellent, loved the thin covering on most of the dumplings. It's Cantonese style which we like having... especially the Sui Mai & Cheung Fun we're awesome. We did notice they give extra cutlery (spoon & cute small bowl ) for Xiao long bao(XLB) so that we can enjoy the juices we never saw this in any Dim Sum places so far.... It was a nice & thoughtful touch... Will definitely come back to try their other items from the menu... we also had some leftovers which was graciously packed by the staff again never got this kind of service for Dim Sum. We had a wonderful time enjoying the Dim Sum at this place. First of all Every dish was prepared fresh with all great ingredients and served piping hot. We had ordered a bunch of dim sum and each one was very good. We had also order the hot n sour soup which was very good but a tad too salty for my taste. The ambience was cool especially on a hot afternoon due to the air conditioning on full blast and with lights being low it served for lovely date meal. Came in for a late lunch/early dinner today. Started with crab rangoon (best I've ever had) and tried the shrimp har gar for the first time (yummy!) I was craving some dumplings and found this place to come for lunch. There was no one in here at noon on a Wednesday so I was a little nervous. But after getting the food I'm not sure why unless I just missed a lunch rush. You do order from your phone which I wasn't the biggest fan of because the cell service inside wasn't the best. The egg drop soup was good but felt like it was missing something. Once I added some soy sauce to it though it was really good. The dumplings were good. To start, the service here was amazing, there was a gentlemen who guided us through the menu and seemed so happy to be working, i wish I got his name. The interior is dark which made the place cozy to eat at. We started with the pork belly and this was honestly the best part of the meal, so good, quite literally some of the best pork belly i've ever had and still thinking about it to this day. Everything else was also pretty good, except for this pork pie that is pictured; it just wasn't fresh and was sitting in glass showcase. It's an incomplete product and if anyone from this establishment reads this review - please do random sampling on what you're making. Soup Dumplings don't hold and rip immediately when you try to pick them up. This is the ultimate failure for XLB. See pics for yourself. AMAZING! I only just moved to the DFW area a few months ago and haven't had dim sum. This place is so good and I will definitely be back. It's not a traditional dim sum place with the carts and they were playing some French cafe music so it's a very interesting ambiance but in a different and good way. They have a good amount of options for dim sum but you won't find everything you can find at a traditional place as well. That being said though every dish we had was spot on. Some standouts in particular are the baked bbq pork pastry it was one of the best I've ever had. The puff pastry is so delicious and the filling is tasty and juicy. I could just eat those and be satisfied. The scallion noodles were also yummy! So much flavor in a simple dish and that's when you know it's a legit place. The roast duck was really nice and crispy, not too much on the sauce marinade side like some others but it was still good. I always love water spinach so that was nice too. Service is quick and good. You order on your phone and you can add more if needed so you are not depending on your waiter to figure out what you need. Overall a great place! read more

I was excited about not having to drive to Plano for Peking duck, but eeeeeeh. The beef rice roll (cheung fun) was super salty. Texture was fine and filing was fine. Just way too salty. The sweet and sour chicken doesn't have the typical puffy batter. I bit into it and had no idea where the chicken was. Would not recommend. They offer buns or crepes for the Peking Duck, which is awesome as I prefer crepes. Decent amount of duck came in the half order, but there was an entire thigh in there that wasn't cut up. Never seen that before. My wife didn't like it, she thought the duck had a weird flavor to it. Just make the drive to Plano if you want Peking duck. read more

I can't believe it took me this long to try out bushi bushi next to 99 ranch in frisco! The dim sum was so good! Was it the best I have ever had? No, however it is definitely the best in north texas! We tried a bit of everything- har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, tripe, black bean pork ribs , pork beancurd, hot and sour soup, and chili oil wontons. The hot and sour soup was nice and sour with lots of bamboo, thinly sliced black mushrooms, egg, and juliennes carrots. The only thing missing was red pepper flakes to give it some spice. My husband enjoyed the siu mai, the har gow, tripe, and chicken feet. Again, not the best he has ever had, but absolutely the best we have had in the dallas area. I thought the pork ribs needed some jalapeño to give it more flavor, the sauce was missing something. The bean curd was really tasty, the skin a little on the chewy side which I actually didn't mind. I did not enjoy the chili oil wonton, I guess I was expecting chili oil dumplings like most other dumpling houses in the area give you, but they actually give you the small wonton soup dumplings. I would pass on that and the pork ribs next time. I really like the ordering system via online so you don't have to wait for the server to take your order. For example, one tray of Har Gao (Shrimp Dumplings) normally is $3-$5, they charge you $7.50 for an order of 4 dumplings. This could be two trays at a typical dim sum restaurant. 3. Ambiance - Modern and industrial. Dress code here is casual. Come as you are. 4. Food - I like their MONGOLIAN BEEF and their SOUP DUMPLINGS. I came here with the intentions of having some dim sum. But I wasn't very impressed. I think someone may have mislabeled this place as a dim sum restaurant. While they do have some dim sum selections, they don't have everything that a typical dim sum restaurant provide. There are no carts, only order from the menu. They don't have any kind of baos (buns), egg tarts, fried taro balls, sponge cakes, and noodle rolls. They serve other entrees, but don't waste your time coming here for a dim sum experience. Just come here for a Chinese restaurant meal. 5. Cleanliness - very clean dining area. This staff is on top of keeping everything in tip top condition! SUMMARY Food is edible, but because this is not a true dim sum restaurant, and overly priced when it comes to dim sum, I took away 2 stars. Other than that, my experience here was enjoyable.
