    Egg tofu over bok choy
    Yu-kwong C.

Fangs Wok is a new restaurant here in Plano. We were curious about this place and the type of cuisine they specialized in. So we decided to check it out. Since it was our first time here, the server suggested some dishes for us. We finally settled on the drunken pork ribs, egg tofu, and a meat soup. The egg tofu was delicious. But don't get it wrong. Egg tofu is not really regular tofu. It was made from steaming beaten eggs and soy milk. The texture was just as soft and silky as tofu. Fried to a golden brown, the tofu was placed on top of bok choy in a glossy brown sauce. The dish looked simple, but it was very tasty. The drunken fried pork was crispy and tasty. But the alcohol flavor could be stronger. The rabbit soup was the star. Yes, rabbit soup! I don't remember the last time I had rabbit meat. The soup was prepared with red yeast rice (紅糟米), which is new to me. To my surprise, the soup was very savory with a strong taste of wine (from the yeast fermentation). We loved it! This item is not on the menu for some reason. So if you want to try something exotic, ask the server about it. The place is cozy and homey. The server was attentive and friendly. She came by to check on us a few times. We appreciated it. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. We'll come back to try the other dishes.

This place used to be something else so I was surprised to see this instead. I went in right after the lunch rush, but still during lunch hours so I ordered off of the lunch menu. Decent amount of food and good price as well - left me full and I had enough to take home (given, I did order an app). Their soup is a hearty portion for a lunch special because most places give you such a small portion. Dumplings with their homemade hot sauce was delicious. Service was a little slow but very friendly.

One of my favorite spots for comfort food. The garlic shrimp with glass noodles is so flavorful! Salt and pepper pork ribs, also flavorful! Cabbage and cauliflower soooo good! Everything here is flavorful! They also have fresh steamed fish! It's so good! Service is great, the owners are Fujianese. There's so good at cooking! I'm here whenever I get the chance! They have ample seating. Located where bulk daddy used to be and I'm not mad about it! Even the egg rice is really good! Very simple but so good! If i lived closer id come way more often!

Friendly. We came in on Christmas day and there were a few other customers. The owners greeted us and checked in during the meal. Their niche is being a Fuzhou restaurant. I had the salt and pepper tofu which was enjoyable. I'd consider returning in the future.

What a great find! We were in search of somewhere to eat for Christmas lunch and were so lucky to find Fangs. The homemade dumpling sauce is delicious! The hot and sour soup is fantastic and the orange chicken has great flavors. The owner is so sweet! We will be back!

Wow! I am so delighted to find this place! I am very impressed with the quality of the food and can't wait to try more dishes. I heard about this place having Fujianese dishes and since my ancestors are from there I really had to try it out. I loved everything we ordered but some standouts for me are the steamed fish with soy sauce. I haven't had anything like this (specifically the soy sauce gravy and the flavor notes) outside of Malaysia so it reminds me of home. The egg tofu is house made which you can definitely tell. It's soft and tasty. The salt and pepper pork ribs were really good too. It was actually the wrong dish but we kept it anyway since we liked it haha. The garlic shrimp is good and comes with vermicelli noodles at the bottom which is authentic. It's nice but only if you like garlic because there is A LOT of it!! The service is amazing too the owner Vicky came to help us portion the fish out and we have a toddler with us so she was telling us what had bones and didn't. She's very thoughtful and you will not regret visiting this place!

And the food is authentic. Hot Hong Kong milk tea and French toast are my favorite breakfast items and that's exactly what I got. If I were in Hong Kong, I would get them in the morning. But I wouldn't mind having them any time of the day! The milk tea was great. I liked the aromatic, bold black tea. It was fairly creamy and smooth. The French toast was delicious also. Fried golden brown, it was toasty on the outside, and nutty, buttery (with peanut butter filling) on the inside. I liked the condensed milk drizzled on top, instead of syrup, which I normally use at home. They also have other Hong Kong style dishes, like the baked cutlet pork chop with rice, fish fillet in creamy white sauce, and iconic street foods like curry fish balls, radish, and pork rinds (yummy!) This place is fully decorated with so many Hong Kong street items, like the big wall pictures of busy, beautiful city views, signs of major streets, shop signs, etc. If you're not from Hong Kong, they may not mean too much to you. But if you are, they're invariably nostalgic. If you want a delightful experience of Hong Kong food and ambience, come give it a try.

The green onion pork chop rice was flavorful and comforting. The pork chop was tender and well seasoned, and the scallion soy sauce soaked beautifully into the rice. Simple and satisfying, exactly what you want from a classic HK café dish. The standout was the stir fried flat noodle with beef. It came out piping hot with steam rising, and the texture was spot on. The noodles were perfectly chewy without being greasy or clumped together, and the beef was tender with that subtle smoky wok hei flavor. You can tell it was cooked fresh, and that heat and texture really made the dish shine. The salted lemon soda was bright and refreshing, while the Yuen Yeung was strong and smooth with that classic Hong Kong milk tea and coffee combo kick. The tofu pudding had an authentic Hong Kong flavor. Served warm with a light ginger sugar syrup, it was silky smooth, delicate, and not overly sweet, bringing back that nostalgic HK dessert shop vibe. If you're craving classic Hong Kong cha chaan teng comfort food, this place absolutely hits the spot. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and it feels like a true neighborhood spot. We will be back.

What's even more impressive is the owner came over several times to check on us, brought us extra items such as more napkins, more milk for my Vietnamese coffee and extra utensils. This speaks volumes when owner/mgr comes by and takes their time speaking with me as well as getting feedback. I'm headed back there again today and have already told several friends about it. The restaurant has vibrant decor and murals that transport you to a diverse neighborhood. Every employee who helped us was approachable and kind, checking on us after we were seated and served, going as far as taking photos for us when we asked because we were celebrating our anniversary, and bringing out things we asked for once we were seated. It seems basic to say that, but the warmth and kindness was felt from each employee we interacted with, and I don't want to gloss over their good service. Our order: - Angry Pho Birria Platter - Elote + Chips - Strawberry Lemonade - Ube Horchata The pho (a little spicy) and bao (a little sweet with super tender meat) will make you want to do a happy dance. The wings could have been a little crunchier but they were sauced so it's understandable. The Bang Bang and Spicy Chili flavors were delicious. The Birria tacos were good, but we loved everything else on the platter more. The Elote + chips starter was authentic and yummy. The chips felt like an odd pairing, but it tasted good together! The Strawberry Lemonade was sweet but refreshing. The Ube Horchata was creamy and delicious. Not too sweet, and the ice didn't ruin it. Know before you go: - Arrive early! We got there when they opened at 11 AM on a Friday. Two other parties were already there and waiting to dine, as well. By 11:30 AM, a nice-sized crowd had rolled in. They had no problem getting everyone served quickly, though. - You order and pay first, grab a seat, and then they bring your food out to you. - Yes, the platter sizes are sufficient for two hungry adults to fill up on! You might even have trouble finishing it all. - Their online menu has awesome pictures of each platter option. The platters look smaller in person than in those photos, but as I said, you will definitely get full. - My husband, who is not a pho lover, loved the Angry Pho. - They are closed on Saturdays and Mondays. - They have gluten-free and halal options.
