Took 20 minutes to get an order that they said would take 6 minutes. They did make a fresh batch per my request, thus a higher rating than I want to give. Gave me the wrong credit card that I noticed after getting to another store. They wanted me to drive back to the store, two towns away, and return the card. Ended up meeting the person half way to give their card back. Very poor customer service. read more

Why is it that your employees can not count? Seems like every time I stop in to get the 6 piece tender meal, I always has less that it is supposed to have. But, this time takes the case. The wife, my daughter and myself each other a meal. A two piece meal, a 4 piece meal and a 6 piece meal. When we get home; why does all of the have 3 pieces only. Wtf! There is not even a 3 piece tender meal on the menu. If the order can not be completed correctly consistently, then why be in business. It's just cheating customers out of money. And what person wants to drive 15 miles from home to correct this issue after getting home and preparing to eat? None.. they just stop spending their hard earned money there. Oh Bush's, How I do love you! Bush's Fried Chicken = divine Manager's Special, 3 tenders, one side (I prefer the mashed potatoes), a roll, a side of gravy, and a drink for $5.25. How can you lose? Breading is so light that you can eat a ton of these things, dipping them in gravy laced with some hot sauce if you are like me. Not greasy, crispy outside, tender and juicy inside. Good gravy.. oh did I say gravy? I meant goodness gracious! Yummm! Quick service inside. Never been through the drive-thru so I have no opinion on that. They have sweet rolls and all the fixings for a good southern meal, fried okra and Mac n cheese. Service is usually very friendly and accommodating. The Cedar Park location does NOT have outdoor dining, as shown on Yelp. They are takeout only. There is no trash receptacle outside. They never have livers and gizzards even at lunch hour (See other comments on waiting!). No time to wait for half a store. No idea if they are friendly, but I'd venture to guess they don't have to be since they don't have to actually offer service to customers other than drive-thru. To begin with, this is not about the food, service cleanliness etc. I think that all the aforementioned are good. This is about a stupid corporate policy and the employees, including the manager to understand reality. I went last night to get some chicken tenders for dinner. A nice young lady immediately greeted me and asked for my order. I chose the six piece chicken tender deal that included a roll, a side and a drink. The deal was reasonably priced at $7.99. I chose green beans for a side and declined the soda. The clerk then punched the register keys and the price magically jumped to over ten dollars. I wondered why the increase. I asked why the price went up when I was requesting less product. The clerk said "That's what we do". A younger me would have gone nuclear in a nanno second but now, a mature me does a slow burn that apparently, the clerk could see. The clerk called a manager who simply underlined the clerks explanation. I guess that I had turned the color of the Yelp banner by then because he opened the register and gave me some change. I stated that perhaps I simply should have taken the unwanted soda and then thrown it in the trash. I left. Would not a better policy have been to offer me a second roll in place of the soda ? I understand how corporate pricing works, they have a target guest check for each customer but cant deal with someone who is not asking for additional product at the same price, but rather someone who wants less product at the same price. Don't know what others are talking about as far as bad reviews. Fort Stockton Bush's Chicken gets 5 stars from me. As far as chicken, it's really good home style chicken. Don't compare this to Popeyes because it's a different style. Breast was crunchy on outside and super juicy on inside. Okra was crisp and tender. Good mashed potatoes and gravy. Staff was 5+ stars. So friendly, courteous, and helpful. For young kids working at this type of restaurant, they were awesome (which you don't see much these days elsewhere). They know what teamwork is all about. Maybe that's the difference in a small hometown. Family values. Will definitely make this a regular stop on the road. read more

My notes for Bush's chicken (because I really did take notes) were: very good flavor, giant pieces, cheap, great gravy, awesome chicken strips, light, crispy, non-greasy, boring rolls as opposed to biscuits, no "spicy" option The chicken is always fresh and I can attest to it by the stroke I almost had when I saw someone take the WHOLE 20 pounds of chicken strips and send them to the trash can. I begged them for a justification to this heinous crime and the reply was "they were over [some ridiculously short time period] old and that's our rule". When I die, I will be buried with a bucket or box of fried chicken. Bush's is the best fried chicken I can remember. The batter is crunchy, but not hard. The chicken is very juicy. The spices are not overpowering so you can really taste the chicken. The rolls are buttery and soft. The mac n cheese is alright and my kids enjoyed the corn on the cob. 10 large pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and rolls for about $22.00. One thing about this place is they have an inefficient drive thru (3 lanes, a waitress goes outside and takes your order, goes back in to get the food, goes outside to collect the bill, and goes back in to process the bill, goes back out to give you a receipt). I can see this being a problem if there is a long line, but since, fatty foods are out of favor, I don't foresee a problem in the near future. read more

Chicken is cooked very well. Sides are good but someone didn't get the memo regarding MSG. The green beans and the seasoning on the table are loaded with it. What I look for in a chicken tender is one that is juicy, flavorful, meaty, and coated in a light-golden, crispy batter. Bush's is full of WIN. When I need to get ma' Fatty Fix on, it's just Tenders, White cream gravy, and Sweet Tea. The chicken is always fresh and the tea is absurdly cheap. Bush's has found their niche in the market and does an incredible job in the chicken biz. P.S. Recently, I strayed from my routine and discovered something new! Clean restaurant. Great service, in a sort of organized chaos kind of way. Good prices. Nasty tea (I think maybe it was stale?). Rolls are just dinner rolls. Okra could use some salt, it's mostly just batter on okra. The fried liver was pretty good. I'll probably come back for the liver alone. I'd go more often if they had a real North Austin location. Driving that deep in to Cedar Park from Duval and Research is a bit of a chore...but not that bad of a drive, if I'm interested in driving. "God Bless" on the door going out indicates that they are probably a pretty heavily Christian organization. Always have a good experience here. Friendly staff and the same manager is always there making sure everything is running smoothly with great customer service. Honestly every thing on the menu is great! I always get their chicken tenders with gravy or regular chicken and sprinkle their awesome seasoning they have on each table. First of all let me say I love bushes chicken especially love their gizzards and livers. With that being said don't ever order from a delivery service. The reason I say this is because for the last four times I've ordered gizzards and livers from this store they have been so dried out they must've been sitting around for hours and they're not even chewable. It's disgusting and horrible I keep hope hoping that I will get a fresh batch but that doesn't happen when you order out. I've tried from several different delivery services and it seems that the bushes seems to dump all the old and crummy dried out stuff to people that order online. I hope this review corrects that. I wants went in there and ordered in person and the person that was filling my order said can you wait a few minutes and I'll put some fresh ones in these have been sitting out for a while.
