I used to do lot of business at Nacogdoches road at north east of San Antonio. But by accident I sew this Bush Chicken kind of hiding in to of this hill to my right. I was curious and hungry so I stop. To my surprise I was very clean, even that it was at 2pm, and kind of busy. I please my order and Mr.Hector, in a very courteous and pleasant way expressed the need to prepare more of what I ordered(chicken gizzard). So I waited giving me opportunity look the place and the operation in general. Every single employee from the management to cook, to ladies taking orders in and out on the drive thru, we busy, ocupaied and with smile. Empressed more a youngadhI noticed Miss Jolly or Juliette working taking orders and at the same time cleaning and ensuring everything was in place and need. This kind of emoyees that from the top of management to the ones bellow give 100% in everything thing they do is not commonly found in many industries and organizations. Mr.Hector and Miss Juliette are very special workers and I do hope upper management see and acknowledge the type of individuals they have in this particular location at Nacogdoches Rd. This are the kind of employees that place Bush Chicken and any other organizations they render their services and work for in top of others. The product served was excellent and just the right amount of species and no greassy. It was done right even considering that was fast food. The cook obviously was running the extra mile in was he does. I just was a great experience. I have other Bush Chicken near my residence but this is my new stops for fast and great food served in a spotless and clean restaurant. Staff was friendly. That's it. Nothing else. Instead of naming obvious upsets, maybe there does exist a manager with some common sense that reads this. 1) electronic tablets - do credit card swiping when the car places their order. 2) encourage all cars to move forward so that some of us don't get rear ended by cars leaving 3) take multiple orders at a time. Like 3 cars at a time. THEN come back outside to take more orders while those previous orders are being fulfilled. Make sure your staff at least acknowledges a car within 5 minutes. They make dual shelved plastic rollers that you can put multiple orders on. Roll that out 3-6 orders at a time. Boom boom boom. It will be faster and provide better word of mouth. This one order at a time/ 1 car at a time is pure ignorance. It shouldn't take me 18 minutes to get acknowledged with only 4 cars around me. RIDICULOUS read more

I was already back at work when I noticed so I called them for a refund of the overcharge and they said they couldn't do that I would have to come back to pick up the item I was not given. I went to bushes to get a four piece tender meal through the drive through. Unfortunately they didn't give me a receipt. I have never had this bad of an experience. They were out of rolls so they offered extra tenders. The tenders I got were not even tenders. They were so small and tough. This location deserves all the negative reviews! I've given them multiple opportunities over the years to redeem themselves but it just never happens. Problems are never resolved when presented to management. Strike one - purchased a $50 gift card for my brother-in-law. It wasn't "activated". He couldn't use it. I had the receipt but no resolution from Bush's management. Strikes 2 and 3. When ordering a chicken strip family meal, I expect to get the correct number of strips (not two less)! What happened when I was feeling extra horrible on Tuesday & I didn't want to make dinner? I suggested Bush's Tuesday tender special for dinner. You get 16 Tenders, 4 rolls & gravy for $16.99, I think. We never got a receipt. It used to be $12.99 but the cost has gotten 'bigger' while the chicken strips have gotten smaller. By smaller I mean that they look like skinny pieces of jerky or some actually look like breaded nuggets of breading w a small chunk of chicken hidden inside. These "chicken" strips were terrible. We ordered a family side of okra. We requested that it be made fresh & hot and said we'd be happy to wait if we could just get the okra AND chicken strips fresh. So, we waited... and waited (while they made chicken jerky) and that is absolutely fine. :) However, did we get it fresh food? NOPE! It was all chewy & had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite awhile? The rolls were chewy. Almost like they'd been microwaved. Weird. The gravy tasted great but umm it's horrible for you.... Who am I kidding? All of this is but that's not the point. Had the food been fresh & hot, it would've TASTED horribly good & I'd have given it 5 stars but instead it was bad. I'm giving the 1 star bc the gravy was yummy. Oh & I was going to say that the staff is usually really nice but then my next thought was "but forgetful". So, yeah they ARE nice but you HAVE to check your bag for everything before you drive away. 90% of the time, something is missing. We asked for ketchup & Serendipity seasoning. We got home, neither were in the bag w our chewy okra & rolls, chicken nuggets/jerky and yummy gravy. Bright side: They can make yummy gravy! This place tonight, Saturday arrived at 9pm, was pathetic. 1st Order placed for 3 drumstick dinner with 3 jalapeños. 2nd was 2 chicken tenders dinner. No one inside and we were only one inline. Time now 9:17 and the girl comes out empty handed and tells us no drumsticks and if they have to order , it would take 20 minutes. I then just asked for 3 breast to replace drumsticks. 9:25 no chicken yet, 9:30 I decided to go inside. No chicken at all on the counter she tells me they were out if fries so they were waiting for them to cook. I looked around and s manager was closing a bag that I had noticed was full of cooked chicken and take it to the back. On the fries table were boxes of chicken , opened, sitting over on the side. I was given out order and left. Upon getting home , opening up the boxes to find COLD, HARD pieces of dried chicken in one box and 2 of the tiniest, cold chicken tenders in the other. WTF? Sign says closes at 10 not 9 or hell from the look of it earlier. The sad thing was we had just left Bill Millers down the street that we walked in not realizing they were closing in "6" minutes and when we asked about fried chicken, we were told they were out but were happy to drop more in and get it to us. Not sure how I really feel about this place. The food was decent but it's very strange that there were no prices marked on the walls which is where you would drive through to see them. The chicken was very flavorful but extremely small? This seems to be a theme at all chicken places recently. I know we're all struggling with covid type aftershocks but I think if you're going to make your product much smaller or if you're having trouble getting correct orders then it should be reflected in the prices. The price is by the way we're not posted? I literally had no clue how much my meal was going to cost, even as the girl was writing down my order she was not sure. The only time I got confirmation on the price of my meal was when they brought my receipt out for me to sign LOL However the bright side is, the servers are super cool, very friendly and definitely make the visit worthwhile. There were apparently three of them working the drive-thru and they were all smiles, waving and seemed to be extremely polite to everyone that was in the lines. Here's the deal at this location... the drive through really isn't drive through. You wait at their door and they come out to write form your order. Then you move up in line to pick up your order where they bring it out to your car. They don't use an intercom or the drive through window. On to the food, it was ok. Thankfully mine was made fresh so food was good but I've had better fried chicken so I won't be back. Nacogdoches location has horrible customer service, they forgot my side order and did not apologize, said I'd have 3 days to pick up my order. Way over priced. It took them 40 minutes to bring me my food after charging my card. I pulled up 3rd in line, as other cars where pulling up instead of bring the food for those that paid the only runner was taking orders. None of the food was fresh either, it was not even warm and I live 5 minutes away from their location. They don't have prices on the wall and they don't provide receipts, I was missing a side but since I don't know if I pay or not because they don't have prices or give you a receipt figure couple bucks wasn't worth the trouble. The chicken was very crispy, but too salty for my taste. The okra tasted like it was fried in old oil. I will say that their rolls are the best I have ever had at a fast food place. Very impress. First time at a bushes chicken and you can tell they take the time out to clean all their condiment bottles. With so many people eating with their hands that makes me feel a lot better not picking up dirty bottles. Bush's is the best "Texas Only" chicken place. Chicken is really, really good! Always fresh. I've been to several Bush's around TX and San Antonio - I have never had a bad experience or meal. There are many fast food chains that sell chicken but Bush's is the best. Support local companies by stopping by Bush's.
