I was craving tea after 9pm so HTeaO and Salad n Go weren't available but I saw Bush's and I know chicken shacks are typically known for having sweet tea available on their menus. I thought I was pulling up to a drive thru window for a cup of tea but quickly learned that Bush's has their own unique system here. I ordered half sweet/half unsweetened and it was mixed wonderfully. The next day me, my daughter and granddaughter stopped by for dinner. The chicken tenders are a nice size but the batter isn't seasoned at all so flavor has to come from gravy or a dipping sauce. I don't recommend ordering green beans. They seem to be poured from a can and heated. Period. No salt, pepper, butter, bacon or seasoning salt. My recommendation, select a different side. My daughter did enjoy her fried okra. We've been staying away from Bush's a while now because their chicken ain't what it used to be but I went there today and ordered a three piece thigh and the boy comes back with a couple of legs and a thigh. I sent it back with, who must have been his manager, who says,"how are you getting all these orders wrong?". I then hear him saying,"he said a three piece " when he came out I told him, "I said three thighs". He handed me the box and smirked. As I drove if I see all these young little faces smiling. The best fried livers in town. I ask for them fresh and they come out fresh, sweet not bitter like something precooked and sitting for a while, and perfectly battered and seasoned. Every time my sister comes from Alabama we go get a box and the last time we let everyone else's chicken sit in the floorboard, car heater was on, while we found a spot in s parking lot to pull into and dig into all that goodness. We didn't even bother with gravy, they were perfect as they were. My next favorite things are their Cole slaw and apple pie. It would be nice if they brought in Cherry as well. The tea is good unless end of barrel. The chicken size is not as large but neither is anyone else's. Quite frankly the large pieces are tougher meat than those smaller so I don't mind that. They may want to look at their cries. They are as good as fries can be as far as taste but sometimes very soggy. Overall I give them 5 for the liver and 4 for the rest. read more

Anytime you FRY something... it is supposed to be BROWN. Nothing comes out of Bush's chicken the right color. It comes out looking the color of those awful khaki dockers I had to wear in high school. Anyone who goes to Baylor comes back just raving about Bush's but I don't get it. Bush's is fine but it's not really noticeably better than Popeye's and is a step down from Chicken Express. The chicken and tenders are very good. I generally prefer fried okra to french fries but the okra is pretty meh so I usually go with the fries instead. I'm new to the State of Texas and residing in the city of Woodway. I was craving some good fried chicken which you can't find in California. Had some Bush's Chicken last night and it was the freshest chicken I've ever tasted. When I took my first bite, I was amazed that I was actually eating chicken and not a Monsanto project. I didn't see any grease, nor did I feel like I was eating grease, and the breading was crispy, full of flavor and just good all around! I will definitely be back! read more

Every time we go here we pretty much get the same, but it's always steaming and really hot, smells great, and doesn't disappoint. I think it's the #8 we do with the bunch of chicken strips and some rolls. Great for left overs, which also taste great. Even cold. They always get us ordered and served pretty quickly in the drive-thru as well. No complaints really. Ok well maybe 1, the mac n cheese smelled better than it tasted only because the noodles were a little overcooked/soggy. lol So we tend to stick to the fried okra and fries, which are both awesome. EVERYTIME I go to bushes I ALWAYS ask for honey and serendipity as my condiments. 9 times out of 10 they don't give me my condiments. I usually just tell myself its fine,because the people working there are young and forgetful, but today I finally called to talk to a manager (female, wish I knew her name) to complain about the reoccurring issue iv always had with bushes. Her advice to me was "well you should have checked the bag" she didn't even apologize... hahaha I stopped going to taco cabana for this same reason. If you can't get the condiments right, no telling what other careless mistakes are being made in the back of the kitchen. Rudest customer service from a manager I have ever received. One of my family's first choices when we go out to a restaurant. A kid-friendly menu, fast service, and a clucking chicken game make it one of my 4 year-old's favorite places. The food is always hot and yummy. Their chicken is some of the best I've had, not just for a "fast food" place. Prices are very affordable. I've had several of the sides and they've all been great - mashed potatoes, mac n' cheese, fried okra, dinner roll. Service is always quick and helpful. The tea is also good. Service is ok to good, food is ok. It's pretty consistent this way. I usually go here because of their fries but my fries today were super hard. Not to mention my drink was flat. I wouldn't feel right taking customer's money under these conditions. Even if a kid, I couldn't give anyone obvious hard fries and obvious soda with no bubbles at all.
