Long story long, but this is just a detailed review of an amazing experience I recently had with Busse Automotive, and the work done by Mark, Chad, Kyle etc. My 2010 G37x needed an oil change, so I brought it in for that. Later that day they recommended rear brakes to be done because they were at 15% life, which I said let's go ahead and do. Later that same day they said that my front sway bar links could potentially be replaced if I wanted and that it *might* resolve a rattling noise that my car was making. For years my car had a slight rattle when idling so I figured let's go ahead and do that too for ~$500 they said it would cost. The next day I got my car back from them and all seemed fine initially. But when I took it on its first trip of real distance, I noticed things happening with it that weren't previously happening: the front suspension was very noisy, large pop noises were coming from the front of the car often, and the ride quality had massively degraded. At this point, I was pretty mad to put it nicely. It was disappointing to have done an "elective" repair to my car with the sway bar links and suddenly felt like my car was heavily affected in a negative way. Next week I reached out to them after not seeing any of the issues get better (and I would say they got worse) and they said bring the car in and we'll make it right for you, which, spoiler ... they absolutely seem to have done for me. I brought my car in Thursday morning, and later that day Chad called me saying they immediately found one issue with the sway bar link installation that would be fixed. But that the other issues still needed to be investigated. They ended up ordering parts for the car to address various side effects of the work that was done. I was given a loan through this entire process (Thursday - Tuesday) and Tuesday they said come on by the car should be ready. They did quite a bit of work for me on the car during that time frame, because Kyle said they were having a hard time tracking down the actual cause of the popping sound. But, regardless of that, the effort they went through the "make it right" and give me my car back in excellent condition was truly amazing and I might never see this level of customer service again in my life from any other business. Major props for how they handled this and I can't say thanks enough. So far, so good with the car since I got it back from them. Fingers crossed it stays that way. read more

I have seen my family members use Busse Automotive since I have had a learner's permit and I have been driving for quite some time now. I respect the no weekend hours thing for the employees to have work-life balance, that just means you have to think ahead when scheduling your oil changes, no biggie! The only time I was disappointed by that schedule was when I got a nail in my tire and had to take it somewhere else to get patched up. I appreciate that when I go for my oil changes, they also check the tires, brakes, etc. to make sure that the car is safe. In an "emergency," when my battery light popped on, they squeezed me into their busy schedule and let me borrow a car to get my daughter to and from school. Outside of the exemplary service, I appreciate how Busse is involved in the community. There is always a thank you note hanging on their wall and I know from my daughter's activities that they put money back into the community by sponsoring. I trust Busse with my car. I trust that they are doing what needs to be done to keep the car safe and not have me spend money. One piece needed to be replaced before the warranty on the work was expired and it was fixed in a jiffy at no additional cost to me. They always explain to me what is going on and always answer my questions patiently. As my daughter gets closer to the age of driving and cars, I look forward to her being the 3rd generation that utilizes their shop! read more

This is the best place to take your vehicle. They are highly respectful and will give you an honest answer. Appreciation Post Big shout out to Busse Automotive and their amazing team. Today one of my SUV's wiper stopped working. I checked online to figure out the issue but didn't have tool to fix it. I called Busse Automotive and spoke to Chad. He suggested I drop off the car but unfortunately I couldn't since I need it for work. He told me to come over and he will check the issue. I got to the shop and he took the SUV to back. In less than 10 minutes he came back and said it's all done. I thank him and asked how much. He said no charge and I was stunned. 10/10 recommend this business. It is rare you find an auto shop you can put all your trust into. They treat me like family every time I get work done to my car. I also park my car there and commute on the train to the city. Many times they have taken care of me free of charge for power steering fluid and coolant top ups when I was not expecting them to. They also have helped me a couple times starting my car when it's dead which was extremely helpful so I didn't have to call and wait for AAA. This was my first time using Busse Automotive. I needed an oil change and wanted to have my car detailed. I was able to make an appointment for a few days after I called and the price was great. During the oil change, they realized my brakes were bad. They were able to put the new ones on the same day. When I went to pick up my car, the interior was still damp. They offered to keep my car overnight so it could dry. I was given a loaner car. When I went to pick up my car this morning it had a flat tire. They fixed it, free of charge and let us continue to use the loaner for the day. I will continue to use Busse from now on! read more

I went to the Car Wash portion because I have a convertible that requires hand-washes and was very pleased with my experience. You can't beat the price for what you get! This review is long overdue. I had brought my jeep in for a full detail in the spring and it was returned to me as close to looking brand spanking new as it did the first day I bought it. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was inside and out! On top of that, the staff is always super nice and friendly! I stopped in a few weeks ago because my gas cap light kept coming on. They worked on it for a bit trying to get the computer to reset. I didn't need a new gas cap. They didn't charge me anything even when I came back a second time because the light came back on and didn't go off again. It did stay off the second time and the jeep is running fine. Such a disappointment, but that's thing with local shop vs larger they can decide to screw over a loyal customer at drop hat because they don't answer to anyone or have any customer service line. Me and my wife been there about 5 times in last 16 months for various things and then just on a whim the decide no longer want our business, maybe he was just having case of Monday's. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish! My car died on Thanksgiving Day and they were able to jumpstart it the next day and bring it to the shop. I called in to see if they could fit me in for a express interior detail yesterday to get rid of a ton of dog hair inside and salt from the winter, Chad said bring it on over within the next hour and he will squeeze me in. When I got the car back I could not believe how amazing of a job they did. I couldn't find one dog hair inside the car, they took all my change and junk from under my seat and cup holder and put it all in a plastic bag for me, it was cleaned spotless inside and out. My family does all of our car service with Mark, Chad and their crew. We have never been upsold, have never been ripped off, have been treated with kindness, and have never been charged just to have them look at something we may be concerned about with our foreign and domestic cars: brakes, tires, alignments, exhausts, mechanical concerns, and the ordinary oil changes. Once they have worked on something, their work has lasted and we have not had to return for any issues. We value their expertise and have never been steered wrong in over 30 years of doing business with them. We are offered rides and loaners, as well as asked whether we would like those spare parts back--nope, but thanks for not assuming. Busse Auto is run the way we would want any ideal auto shop to be run--you want your car fixed well, and without an undue pain in the wallet. Let's face it: proper car repairs are never cheap, but you will be given a very fair price by Busse. His mechanics stay there for a long time and thus are likely treated well, which is another good sign. In fact, we worry that they all work TOO hard and need to close for a good week's vacation!!! They are there early, and stay later. The shop is located right by the Mt Prospect train station and there are several restaurants/coffee shops and a library you can walk to if you want to wait for your car. It is best to make an appointment if you can because they are very popular, however, if you have an emergency, you will be taken care of. read more

Don't look anywhere else to have your car repaired. Mark and Chad run an excellent operation that is founded on efficiency, transparency, and care for your automobile. The last auto repair place I went to would always tell me I have hundreds of dollars of maintenance every single visit. I recently needed to get my car detailed after my skunked dog rode in it (to the vet). My husband called around to get some quotes, which ranged from around $80 at the cheapest, to hundreds more. The thing was, only Busse guaranteed him they would get the smell out. They'd just shampoo it until it was gone. Other shops said, no, we can't promise to de-odorize the car with their shampoo treatment... but then tried to upsell him - one place said they had a $600 ionizing package that would "probably" eliminate the skunkiness! We went with Busse because my husband had used their services before (they do a fantastic wash and wax), and he knew they'd do a quality job. Indeed they did. They shampooed and conditioned all the leather in the interior; it looks and smells showroom-new. The entire thing took about 3 hours, and I paid $110. They even ran it through the car wash! I dealt with co-owner Mark Busse, who was very friendly and professional. It's a family-run business, and they take pride in their work. I recently had a headlight go out on my way to work. Since I go to work in the dark in the morning and return home in the dark at night, I needed this taken care of immediately. Fortunately for me, calling Busse Auto was all I had to do, they immediately took care of my problem. I called and told Mark I had a few concerns with my older Toyota (2003) and needed to have it checked out and made highway ready and safe. I was able to take it in that same afternoon and left the car feeling confident in their honesty and expertise. My car recently wouldn't start, as it hasn't been driven much with current shelter in place. First time I ever called Busse Auto, as I usually go to the dealership. They came quickly in gloves and face masks, my car was open with keys inside, and we kept our social distance. They got the car started, took it back to the shop to check it out, thankfully everything was ok and returned my car in my driveway with keys inside, all in about an hour and shockingly low price. I went for an oil change on my 2010 Honda Civic. They got me in very quickly and completed the job within 30 minutes. A complimentary car wash was a surprise when it was all done.
