I went there for the first time and found it to be amazing. I had the Homemade pastitsio and meat stuffed grape leaves as well as the lemon soup and took spinach and cheese pies to go. The best spinach and cheese pies ever. If I lived closer I'd eat there weekly. Great service as well. 10/10 read more

I was referred here by a Greek friend of mine, sadly I was disappointed in his referral. There was no gyros, the female employee told me they ran out because it was so busy. If I was to believe that I have a bridge across Lake Michigan to sell you. Display cases unlit, shelves poorly stocked, prices seemed high, pastry and cookies all sold pre-packaged. I was looking for incence and the kind they carried was expensive for a very small quantity. I love Kronos Livani Greek incense. Sadly, this shop left a lot to be desired. read more

No one knows Busy Bee like me. I've been going to Busy Bee since I was twelve years old. Now I am twenty three, and I have not stopped returning. Lovely cooked food, great deli selection, amazing European candies and treats. I left my hometown for a couple years but recently moved back, and for the past three consecutive days have returned to Busy Bee each afternoon and ordered a mezza plate with an Italian soda. Some of the best olives in Northwest Indiana, freshest feta, and my favorite toasted pita in the midwest. Not to mention the care that goes into the food's presentation. I don't care for their service or products. Olives look like they've been sitting for awhile. Their stuffed peppers are over stuffed and not tasty at all. Well my relationship with Busy bee has officially ended. So I go in and order my usual house special sub (turkey, provolone, lettuce tomato) and while I wait I start looking around in the candy aisle - Bounty candy bar, expired months ago. Bounty coconut bar, expired over a year ago, Greek chocolate and coconut bar, expired a year ago...the list went on and one. Not a candy bar there that was yet to expire. then I get back to work with my sandwich. One bite in - gag. They have changed their use of mayo to Miracle whip. this is sacrilege. This is a strictly carry-out restaurant - OK, they DO have a few tables, but you don't want to eat in the middle of an ethnic supermarket. They really need to do delivery, because the food is quite a find! The quality is somewhere between "cheap Greek diner" and "fancy Greek restaurant", but the prices are 100% "cheap Greek diner"! They offer some foods everyday - Gyros, Tiropita, Spanikopita, Serbian chevaps - but they also offer one or two other 'special' dishes each day. Nice place. One of the few places in NW Indiana with authentic Greek pastries. The grocery store has a variety of food and snacks from southern European countries. Mainly Greece and the countries that made up Yugoslavia. They also sell Greek food to go or to eat in the store . There are about 5 small tables. I've has the souvlaki and Greek chicken. Both were delicious. Much bettor quality than the average to go place. The home made rice pudding reminded me of my moms. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or driving through. read more
