Came here for the first time in the late morning of a weekday and had a fantastic time! I love the choice of adult drinks, regular drinks, and treats (for both adults and the kids). And, as a person that runs a no-shoes on household, I'm a big fan of that rule also! Lol. The area is divided into a lounge (where you'll have to consume your food and drinks), the ordering counter, cubbies (for shoes and personal belongings), bathrooms, and sectioned play areas with designated themes. They have an assortment of activities and toys that would appeal for every little one of a wide range of age. The only downside is that they can get very busy and the lot is fairly small and shared between several other businesses. However, they are moving to a new, large space soon so looking forward to that! We came from about 30 minutes away so I definitely wish they had more locations, but I'm glad we visited this site, and we're excited to visit the Roseville site one of these days as well. My son loves Busy Kids, which is why we go, but I left our visit today very unhappy. My biggest problem was a group of 3 boys, who were all older than my kids. They were very rowdy and inconsiderate of other kids. They completely took over the back room, never let my son have a turn on the ride on cars, and cars and bikes were being thrown in and out of the ball pit. My son was fine to stay in the front of the play area, but I was disappointed that I had to pay full price for my one year old who can't walk, and I didn't even feel comfortable to let her crawl freely because of these boys running around. I want to note that I understand that kids will be rowdy and it's typically not the fault of the business. However, this family was clearly friends with the employees and it felt like their behavior was given a pass. read more

I would not recommend BusyKids for a birthday party. We planned our son's 1st party here and it wasn't such a great experience. The place was super busy, which makes sense for a Saturday but very disorganized. Shoes were everywhere near the front door when you check in. Staff were rude to my sister and mom who were trying to help setup. Very little setup help from party fairy's and when you tell them that the balloon colors are wrong they just say well that's what you picked. They don't even look into it. We had our daughter's first birthday party here last month, and our family still can't stop talking about it. The level of customer service, attentiveness, cleanliness, and professionalism the gals at this establishment showed us during a somewhat chaotic time for me was nothing short of stellar. Wouldn't want to go and hang out in the cafe again while waiting for my kids to play. The last location near HD was much more kid friendly in my opinion. They could be kids. This felt overly sterile. Had to take my shoes off just to be in the cafe area, don't get me wrong, I take them off in my home as well, but I'm sitting in an area that serves food, the floors are going to get messy one way or another. 3/5 cause the kids were happy and the staff was relatively nice when they weren't all huddled in the back room chatting with each other. read more

We had a great 6th bday at this facility. It was clean and the kids had a blast playing. The staff was nice and helpful. They let me know in advance that I had 15 minutes to decorate and answered all my questions about what to bring, what not to bring, etc. I do like that they only charge extra for the kids and not the adults, as getting a head count for adults seems to be harder to do for a party? The owner "owned it", listened well and seemed truly concerned about our experience. The good news is that our 19 month old granddaughter had a wonderful time and had no idea of what was going on at the adult level. I used to love this place, they used to keep it clean and cared if the kids were sick or not. The last 2 times we've taken my daughter she's ended up sick and getting everyone else in the house sick too. Monday 2pm first time visit today with my two 18 month old granddaughters. The place was clean and lots moms/caregivers were sitting in the cafe drinking coffee, looking at their phone, even working on their laptops....so quite a few kids were allowed to run around unsupervised. Those of us with littler tykes stayed with our kids, but the big kids made it very difficult for the little ones to play. The two boys in the lego room yelled to keep other kids out. The older boys on the roller coaster tracks preferred to crash into the little kids, furniture, etc and wouldn't take turns. The older kids in the ball pit decided to have a ball fight. The one employee in the play area tried to get them to stop, but he really couldn't discipline the paying guests..right? The quieter areas like reading, camping, tools, and kitchen were void of toys and uninteresting. We stayed for about 45 minutes...definitely don't recommend for any child under 5 or 6 years old. Update: The owner emailed the following to me on Dec 18, 2024: Hi Carol, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly value your feedback and are sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations. We understand how important it is for younger children to have a safe and enjoyable environment to play in, and we apologize for the challenges you encountered with the older kids in the play areas. Busy Kids is a fantastic place to bring our granddaughters who are 2 & 4 years old. It is a safe and friendly environment. This place is also great for kids just learning how to walk as well. The owner, Jessica, is one the friendliest, nicest people you will ever meet. The staff is just as nice. My husband and I were able to sit, relax, talk and enjoy a wonderful coffee drink. I also noticed they sell snacks as well. There is even free Wi-Fi. The best part of Busy Kids is the kids are have a blast, making messes and using their imaginations. They literally don't want to leave and we go home to a clean house. We will be definitely spending a lot of hot and rainy days here. We planned our daughter's 3rd birthday at BusyKids. The event planner/organizer, Colette, was attentive and answered all my questions. Thank you, Colette! I will say the party area is a little small considering how many kids and parents attended our party. We had 15 kids and almost 30 parents, so it was a little tight as parents had to help their kids eat. We would just know if we host here again, have a smaller party. 10 kids would be more appropriate for the size of the party room. Colette and her team were great and were able to decorate the party area with all the decorations I dropped off, all decorations need to be assembled prior to dropping them off. I also gave them about 2 dozen balloons, which they blew up and put them in balloon bundles for the party on site for a fee. The balloons and room looked great! If I could give zero stars I would. I have been to Busy Kids on a few occasions and was excited to take my mother with my children for her to see it and spend time with her grandkids. If I would have know we would have been treated with so much disrespect and lack of empathy I would have never visited this business. Today around 1pm during our visit we were met with a very rude employee behind the counter. In the past I have visited and brought specific food for my children as one is autistic and both have allergies. This employee refused to let my family in because we had food and drinks for my children. She continued to give dirty looks as laugh and talked about us to what seemed to be a friend who had children there. I mentioned that my child had allergies and special needs and I was allowed to have food there before and she continued to be very rude with me and towards my children. I had special socks for my son with me but not on him yet and she continued to be rude after I said I had socks for him and would put them on. The atmosphere was not inclusive at all. The staff and many of the people there were very rude to my children as well as my mother and I. They claim to be very open to all children and needs and they are far from that. To make matters worse the friend the lady behind the counter was talking to at the beginning of our visit was sitting eating personal food from a cooler as we went to talk out and was chuckling and smiling at us knowing what her friend behind the counter had done to my family about food. This is the worst customer service I have had when it comes to place I have taken my children. I will make sure to let the people I had previously told about this establishment to not visit or hold their events at after this encounter. I wish I would have read more reviews before visiting as now I have seen other posts about them not being appropriate with children with special needs and other issues as well. read more

We cannot thank BusyKids Playtown in Folsom enough for the amazing Frozen themed birthday party they did for our daughter. Our daughter felt truly celebrated and special that day. Decorations were perfect, it was very well organized, and staff was very friendly and open to questions and suggestions for the party. They made the planning and execution of the party very easy and worry-free for us. The kids had an absolute blast and parents were happy kids were entertained and enjoying themselves : gift bags were adorable and special character, Elsa was awesome. This is a cute and fun place for your preschool and toddler-aged kids (though I'm sure my six-year olds would probably think it's awesome, too). So much to do and play in, with multiple themed rooms and nooks and crannies to explore. Of course the ball pit was a big hit with my one-year old. Great place for the little ones! It's the perfect spot to let the kids burn off some energy especially on a hot or cold day when the outdoors isn't an option. There are multiple play rooms with different themes. On the downside - the way it's set up inside, you can't sit in the coffee/waiting area and watch the kids because you can't see most of the play areas. So you're forced to follow toddlers around to keep an eye on them. I don't even know where to start but all I can say is I'm so happy with the experience we got having our son's 1st birthday at Busy Kids! In the beginning of the year I saw some of my friends post about playing at Busy Kids and figured I'd take my son once he was a bit older. Than COVID hit but last month I was in such a rush trying to find some place to have a kids party during this difficult time. I saw that Busy Kids was open for birthdays and as soon as I called they have been beyond helpful every step of the way! We LOVE BusyKids! The kids had an amazing time and our family and friends loved it! We had more adults than kids in our celebration but with the adult drinks and seeing our favorite kiddos running around having a blast it ended up being such a great experience for everyone! Our party host Jillian was such a saint, she checked in with me through out the party asking what she could do to help and if I needed anything! She made our guests their drinks, made sure the kids were taken care of and got pictures of our party! Busy Kids was so accommodating and their communication from start to finish is excellent! I just got a call and follow up email saying the birthday party photos would be emailed to me this afternoon. We are already planning to have our little guys birthday there for next year. Collette, our party fairy, took care of everything for us so when we arrived it was already decorated with balloons, a balloon garland, treats and goodie bags. Absolutely adorable. Fun little activity center to kill some time if the weather is too cold and rainy for going out or in the triple digits- isn't living in Sacramento. Wonderful people? All joking aside, I'm grateful for places like this that exist. I brought my kids here to get some wiggles and energy out, I just wish the overall space was a little bit larger. After paying to enter, you go through a little gate which leads to a seated area for the parents that has a small café, where you could have a pastry or a beverage, the selection is not large, but it's decent enough. it's the actual play area for the kids that feels a little bit cramped, like they stuffed too many things into too small of an area. It's not the worst, but it makes me as the parent feel slightly claustrophobic, and I do wish that they had a larger space. My most recent visit the staff was really friendly, despite the fact that there was a family outside, who was selling candy bars, I think, and about three out of the five kids that were there with the adult kept coming inside the shop and we're trying to shoplift items. The staff member was apologetic to me, since I was waiting in line to get my ticket inside for my kids, but it was completely unnecessary for her. Apologies since this was not her fault, and she handled it all very gracefully and politely ushered the kids who were trying to steal out of the store. Surprised something like this would happen in Folsom, but I guess these types of things happen everywhere. read more

This place deserves more 5 star reviews than they have. I have seen that a few poor reviews came from parties, which I cannot comment on, but as far as an open play day, this place is great! I have freshly two y.o. twins so getting out of the house and letting them blow off some energy is key to my survival. This place caters to me just as much as them! The venue is a mini town complete with multiple rooms, each designed differently. There was a post office room, camping room, reading nook room, music/dress up room, aviation room (complete with giant sit-in airplane), vet office, kitchen, tool room (complete w tools, tool bench and a ball pit with a "digger"), lego/car table room, mini "roller coaster" room, a big space with large blocks and an art room for classes. There are tables and chairs all around for the adults to sit and enjoy their snacks and drinks. They have a vast menu with a bunch of snack items for adults and kids, we didn't eat there so I cannot remember what was on the menu but at least a decent variety for some pretty solid snacking. They also go above and beyond for the adult drinks. Not only do they have chain-level iced and hot coffee with MANY flavors to choose from but they also have alcohol too. I only got coffee (a delicious salted caramel iced macchiato) but I saw IPAs, hard ciders and a few other adult drinks. Seems like the right kind of place for a kids party to me! My only con is trying to find the price. Given that my twins are freshly two, I generally don't want to spend more than $20 for admission to places like this since my kids don't generally last too long. There doesn't appear to be a website and even there I never saw a price until I was rung up. For anyone interested, it's $10 per child for admission. I will say Wednesday's admission is only $7 so I'll probably be back then bc this Mama is always looking for a deal! read more

We've brought our children here many times. Our children's ages range from 7 to 2, all girls. We love the environment and convenience of this place, especially on hot summer days. Our kids always have a good time and the place is always clean. The employees are pleasant and also seem overworked, maybe short staffed or high turnover? The staff doesn't have to fully engage with the customer/children as if they're working in a daycare, so we've always wondered the reason for newer employee faces. Our experience in this was when we recently reserved a party area, while the attendant to our child's birthday party was tentative, polite and pleasant, we couldn't help but notice the staff seems to have different faces each time we are there. We've been going to this place for years, and even the front desk or snack/coffee beverage area, there is never enough personal it seems. While our party host was tentative, we didn't request or require alcoholic beverages for our celebration. They offer beer and wine at this location. We did have to use the bathroom several times with our children, so we noticed there were several adults asking about being served beer/wine. Not to mention, beer and wine are nice but as mentioned previously, it doesn't seem that age appropriate staff is serving the beverages. One of the employees explained they're not allowed to serve the alcohol. The response of the customer/parent was that it's never been an issue before. We had a lovely experience for our daughter's birthday at this location but I couldn't help but feel the pressure and or lack of adult supervision for the young girls that work there. I felt like I wanted to protect them. On our way out we heard an adult male customer comment on the presentation of the employees pants; " those look non breathable and tight". He then asked the girl at the front desk if she does "nanny jobs". The employee had on regular fitting black pants. She seemed really uncomfortable, the male customer left quickly after his spouse joined him. It could be society today and us being over sensitive as we have daughters, it just felt the girls that work there are not supported by any presence of management. It being a place for children and or babies it seems there should be a professional structure of support. It felt off in that sense. We also attend the gym nearby and can attest to homeless people frequenting the front and back of the building. It's not a place we would in-vision our daughter working. Thats how we perceive family oriented businesses. While our birthday party experience was pleasant it was obvious to us the place lacked adult support. read more
