I will leave two stars due to having two experiences that were very inconsistent with one another. The first I dealt with Daniel and was great! Fair price, good communication, and I felt like he was very knowledgeable. The second experience was much different. First of all, Brett never went over the costs upfront. It's my fault for not asking, but after my experience with Danielle, I figured they would take care of me. They in fact did not. I was charged $120 labor on top of the $50/tire (got it down to 35 after I pointed out he charged me more than Danielle did). Swapping tires on my car cost $365 before the adjustment. I am a teacher and this extra $120 is a tough pill to swallow. In addition to this, I thought they would be very knowledgeable about Teslas. I can't speak for the rest of the sales crew, but Brett was scrambling for answers, although he presented himself very confidently about these vehicles in the beginning. This ended up being false bravado. I had thought I'd found my go to shop for tires and installation, but unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back after this last experience. Update: I question the sincerity of the response on google. If they really want my feedback, they have my phone number and could've easily called me. Let me start by saying that I have always had good work performed at Butler Tire in Alpharetta. I have taken my high-performance or restored vehicles here twice, and each time, I left feeling glad I did. However, I will not be going back again because the "added value" of going here is no longer present. This is due to three things: 1) The on-the-car wheel balancing is now no longer done and apparently hasn't been available for quite some time. The technical reason was that newer cars do not react well to having the wheels rotated with the car turned off or off the ground. The traction control systems freak out. I still am not 100% convinced about the wheels being turned (balanced) with the car turned off, but they aren't doing this service anymore. This was the main reason I went here. 2) Nitrogen instead of air - let me be clear here... --- This is 100% BS! A sham and is snake oil. --- Not my opinion - it's physics. --- DON'T waste time listening to how "nitrogen is better than air" in tires. Here is why... The air in Earth's atmosphere is made up of approximately 78 percent nitrogen and 21 percent oxygen. Boyle's and Charles' Law proves that nitrogen and regular air are going to behave nearly identically. When compared, the pressure changes of nitrogen, air, and CO2 through a wide temperature range were found to expand (increase in pressure) at virtually the same rate. Good shop air compressors have water/oil separators in-line to prevent moisture. Also, the tire is filled with air before being inflated with pressure. So unless you're mounting a tire in a chamber with 100% nitrogen, the best you'll get is around 85% nitrogen after inflation. Since there is "technically" the tiniest sliver of truth to nitrogen behaving differently than oxygen, this myth persists. You are being played. 3) My invoice was (in the words of the service writer) "confusing." (image attached, with sensitive info removed) When I was quoted $10 per tire for using nitrogen in tires, I (of course) immediately declined and requested that it be removed. The service writer stated, "We only use nitrogen, so I'll just discount it off." I agreed, and we proceeded with the quote, and I had the tires installed. The work was done, and I am very happy with the tires and the balance, even though it was not an on-the-car balance. Later, when I reviewed my invoice, I noticed that the nitrogen was still a line item charge showing $10/per tire. I also saw that I declined the road service warranty. Note that the declined road hazard contract was followed by an INDENTED line item underneath that read "service package savings -$116.00." This reads as if the declined road hazard contract resulted in a savings of $116.0. So, I called about removing the charge for the nitrogen. I was told that the discount was on the invoice, in the lower right and side, although it wasn't. The service writer had to go into the computer and physically print the invoice to see it as I did. He then explained that the -$116.00 savings was a total of $56 off the tires, $20 off labor, and $10 off for each tire to refund the cost of the nitrogen, as we discussed. Of course, there was no way to know this, and for an invoice that is so good at listing each line item that I was charged so clearly, it certainly abandons all logic and this accuracy when showing discounts or refunded items. SO... - No more special/unique balancing services - Inaccurate/confusing invoices - Willingness to charge customers for a sketchy, BS "upgrade" (Nitrogen) Is now why I won't bother going through the trouble of driving across town to go here again. The organization is still fully willing to charge customers for sketchy things, which speaks to its character as a company, and yes, that means that any person who works there who is willing to sell this is also 100% okay with compromising their character when selling it. That's a huge problem when you go to a service organization hoping to get a reputable, trusted advisor to help you make decisions about what to buy and why. Going to Butler Tire is no better than going to any reputable tire service center. In short - Butler Tire costs more, but they do the best possible work. They're worth it. I come from an automotive background and have worked as a mechanic previously, so I know a thing or two about how things should be done. I've watched these guys work, and they're practically flawless in everything they do. They do precision work and they do everything clean. You won't have to worry about them scratching your wheels or getting your interior dirty. In fact, they usually clean your wheels and shine your tires when they're done working on the car. If you pay for your wheels to be balanced, they're going to be balanced, by-god! You're not going to drive away with it vibrating worse than it did before you brought it in, which is sadly a thing at most other tire places. If you get an alignment done, it's going to ride like it's on rails, and the steering wheel is going to be straight exactly like it should be after an alignment, which, again, isn't going to happen at most other places who just do a quick and dirty "toe & go" alignment on your car. Pay the extra money. Wait the extra time. Paying Butler tire one time is way better than taking your car back 3 or 4 times to that "discount" place that screwed up your ride. Trust me. Got new four tires back in Feb & it's a decision that's changed my life. Today, I went in to get my tires rotated. No charge;-) As a reminder, they place a sticker on Ur windshield. If I would've gotten my tires NEwhere else, I wouldn't have nvr learned to rotate my tires every 5k miles. The air they fill Ur tires w/ is nitrogen- so, it's less likely to migrate through tire rubber vs. oxygen; tire pressures will remain more stable over long term and also exhibits less pressure change w/ temperature swings. Courtney has been great every time I have gotten service. The entire staff is informative & always willing to answer NE Qs. The venue is very clean & the parking lot is nvr KrZ or out of order. They R very timely w/ all their services and when they give U an estimated time, they always deliver. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I brought my Porsche to Butler Tire in Alpharetta/John's Creek to have all 4 of my tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) replaced. This was at a cost of $800, excluding tire balance and rotation. The first visit took 4 hours. When they were finished, they said that it would take 1-2 weeks for the TPMS to register as it must be driven above 52 MPH to calibrate. I took their word for it as they are supposed to be the subject matter experts. After 2 weeks, the TPMS all read 0 tire pressure and was not registering at all. I went back to Butler tire for an explanation. They told me this time that they would use TPMS OEM Porsche parts (not sure why they did not do this to start with). They ordered the parts and 2 weeks later I returned to their store to have them installed. Six hour later, I see the technician driving circles around their building in my Porsche, trying to get the speeds up over 50 MPH. It's a miracle that he didn't injure anyone or do damage to other vehicles. Once again, I was given the line of it taking 1-2 weeks for the TPMS to register as it must be driven above 52 MPH to calibrate. So after 2-3 weeks, same issue with 0 tire pressure and was not registering at all. I then brought it to another Porsche authorized repair shop. They inspected all 4 of the TPMs and said that the batteries were all dead on the 4 "new" TPMS that Butler Tire had installed. I ended up playing $1,000 to Freed Performance for 4 TMPS. When I got my car back, they immediately worked as expected. Another incident with Butler tire was that I asked them to order 4 Porsche wheel caps and they said that they would install them for me. Two weeks later, I brought my car in to have them installed. They told me that the parts are in, but I would have to wait 2-4 hours to get them installed. Then they said that they did not have the parts to remove and install the wheel caps. I told them that I would do it myself. I was able to use a simple allen wrench to pop them off and change out with the new wheel caps. In summary, these people are incompetent and not worth my time or business. That explains why it always took so long for them to do anything on my automobile. My advice is to take your car to a dealership or to another authorized service company that is not Butler Tire in Alpharetta/John's Creek, GA. read more

On two separate occasions, I've gotten quotes for service from this shop over the phone and when I get there to have the work done, I'm told the quote was incorrect and that it will be more than what I was quoted. Today, I went to have a level kit and new tires installed. I was quoted $620 on the phone and was told $945 in the shop. The excuse on BOTH occasions was that the person that quoted me on the phone was new. Performance alignment needed. If you've read any of my other reviews and/or seen any of my pictures, you'll have noticed that I once was an automotive technician. That being said, it drives me bonkers when I have to pay someone to do something to one of my cars. In this case, I installed a racing suspension setup on my non-racing vehicle, and since alignment machines can cost upwards of $100k, I don't have one sitting behind my toolbox. Yeah, I can do the string alignments, and use my camber gauges, but setting toe can be bothersome, especially when I just spent a chunk of change on the suspension. I contacted these guys because my first choice in Chamblee has banker's hours, and most people can't drive that far or take that much time off work to get an alignment done. Next best thing? Sure. This Butler Tire is fairly close to my employer, so I ran up and dropped the car off, advising the service advisor of my modifications and adjustable parts installed. No worries. I get a call about an hour-and-a-half later letting me know that it's done, which is cool, and fairly convenient. My only gripe is that I wish I had known about the toe-adjusters being max'ed out as it was happening, because I could've advised them how to get the additional adjustment out of the stock arms in the rear. This sentence will probably seem like gibberish to most people, but I spent the last 23yrs of my life working on this make of vehicle, so I know all the ins-and-outs and some little tricks. At this point, I can do the trick I'm talking about, but now I'll need to spend the alignment cost over again, which stings a little. Otherwise I'd recommend them for alignments. From the looks of the rimz (sic) on the showroom floor, I imagine they get plenty of work from the local SUV/Urban Assault Vehicles that plague this area deeply. read more

Another 5 star review for Butler Tire, I brought 15 whees/tires total in this visit and the guys worked hard, a lot more expensive than anywhere else but only guys I'd trust with my cars. Slight vibration at first due to the wheel/tire combination but I brought it back and they spent an hour or two making sure it was perfect. Definitely bringing it back for an alignment after the lift next week, I've had my other car to both locations for an alignment and they've always done it perfectly. read more

After ordering new wheels and tires for my truck that I was told would work by the sales rep, when installation occurred this was not the case. The manager called me to tell me I needed to order a different style wheel because the new tires were hitting the crash bars. No apology from the manager just a demand I would have to pay an additional $1200 to make the tires and wheels I selected "work" on top of the original $4800 I was quoted. Hands down one of the best auto repair experiences that I've had! I walked into Butler at 5:20 PM on a Friday afternoon. Having major alignment issues to the point of undrivable. Chris at the front desk got my jeep in immediately within five minutes to head technician came out and explain to me what he needed to do. Instead of putting me off till Monday and he put the jeep on the alignment machine and read my steering wheel and had my jeep out front ready to Driveaway in 30 minutes and I will certainly be back with all of my automotive needs. Butler has been great to deal with. We have 3 cars we take here. I ordered parts this week with Brett and he was very accommodating and good follow up. Dealt with Bryan today and he and staff were excellent in replacing Struts on my Lexus. I have to say that their service is excellent and they are a great alternative to the over-priced dealerships you deal with. I will never take my cars to a dealer if Butler can do the specific work that is needed at that time. They did a terrific job, super nice people, fair price, they even cleaned my rims and put gloss on the tires! As a bonus they filled the tires with Nitrogen! I've used Mavis (formerly Kauffman) for 20 years for all my cars (except Porsche) and now I'm a Butler customer for life...not going back to Mavis. I highly recommend. read more

PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED LESS THAN 24 hours after posting!! I personally installed bc coilovers on my 2007 x3(it's not rocket science) at the beginning of 5/1/2020. On 5/4/2020 I took my vehicle to Butler Tires in johns creek for an alignment. I was told it would be $130 and an up charge of $30 because the car was lowered. I wasn't able to stay and wait for my car so I left it for the day. 5 minutes after leaving the building, I get a call from Butler Tires telling me that all my nuts/bolts for the suspension are loose and that it was installed incorrectly? I was told they would be able to adjust them for Another $120 so my total would be $280. I gave them the go ahead and I went on with the my day. When I went to pick up my car he told my total was $160? And that their mechanic just decided not to adjust them and "tightened what he could as he went." I was never informed that they changed their minds? As I was driving off the lot I could hear a slight clanking noise but didn't know from which corner it was coming from. Figured the suspension was fresh and still settling (only been on 2 days). 15 days later I'm missing a screw that I remember specifically tightening to spec with a brand new torque wrench I had bought to SPECIFICALLY do the job right with my new $1,000 suspension. The x3 is my work car so not only am I out a rear shock absorber and screw but I'm also out of work. Butler Tires maybe a reputable company but my experience was HORRIBLE and completely regret ever going near their shop. read more

I took the car back to Butler and they told me my passenger side wheels were bent. I had a sinking feeling they were because prior to purchasing these tires, I hit a massive freaking pothole...the kind that makes you use foul language. The sales guy wanted to sell me after-market wheels which I declined. The following weekend, I jacked up the car, propped up my smart phone and filmed each wheel as I spun it by hand. Sure enough, I could see the hop in the wheels on the passenger side. I bought two replacements online and had Butler install them. This time I got my regular service advisor Courtney. I've been dealing with Courtney since 2005. He mounted my two replacement wheels, rebalanced all four and re-checked my alignment for a hugely reasonable price. Friendly atmosphere. Will let you look at multiple wheels on your vehicle before deciding what you want to buy. With a wheel investment, it may help to search online in advance to narrow your options. Butler, like any tire service will steer your toward what is in stock. However, they will also do custom orders and can pull wheels from other locations as not all locations have the same stock. What a great experience. Bought new tires and wheels for my Audi S4 17K miles ago. Brought it in for my 5K rotation and asked if they would wipe down my red brake calipers if they had a chance.
