This guy should have his license taken away, he removed a tooth on me he knew I was on blood thinners and told it would be ok he struggled with the tooth for quite a long time. Meanwhile, the overhead light over my chair went out and he continued working on me in the dark, It started bleeding so bad they had to call an ambulance. The wait to be seen was too long and there was no one else in the waiting room. The xray process was decently quick and painless, so I couldn't comain there. But then afterwards the wait for the cleaning took another hour. And then when getting my cleaning one of the technicians placed the suction tool too hard on my lower gums for a long time. It was extremely painful and I had to tell them to stop. Three days later, a canker sore formed on my gums in that same location due to the trauma. read more

I foolishly went HMO and was selected this dentist. They take you back in the room and leave you for as long as they feel like so don't come here on your lunch hour(s). I had an issue and was referred by the hygienist to an oral surgeon which was a disaster they looked inside my mouth for a second, didn't even take a PA X-ray of the area and told me I would get a referral for a nerve specialist and this never happened. When I called butterfield back I spoke to Cynthia who proceeded to talk over me for 9 minutes about how I would either need to talk to my Dr or my old dentist but either way they couldn't help me... I asked if I could speak to the actual dentist as all I need is a PA X-ray to show what is causing the issue and she refused. Since then I have gone to another dentist who gave me the X-ray and lo and behold no nerve specialist needed - they were able to fix the issue and actually listened to me. Do better! read more

I've been a patient for serval years now and just love the staff here. They have always been so warm and welcoming. I went In for the first time on a emergency appointment because while at lunch a part of my tooth broke off. They where able to get me in the next day and tried to make it work around my schedule as best as they could. I love the up to date technology that they use in the office to help me better understand what am looking at because to me teeth all look like toes lol. Jess the office manger came in and went over the treatment plan including what my insurance pays and what I would have to pay out of pocket. She was very patient with my many questions that I asked. Since then I have brought my two daughters here for all their check ups and cleaning as well. This was my first visit to this dentist, I had been unable to get into a dentist for two days. I happened to see a sign for Butterfield Dental and I saw Dr. Nichal, I did not have an appointment, but was in pain. She went above and beyond to fit me into her busy schedule, she went back and forth to her appointments as well as taking care of me. She told me that I wasn't going anywhere until she could get the problem taken care of. She was very calming and serene and put me at ease, when she administered the shot she was very gentle and caring. Her assistants were also very positive and empathetic to my pain and made me feel comfortable and welcome. I would definitely recommend this dentist and I'm so glad I found her. This place just wants to rip you off! I went six months ago and it was a standard visit (x-rays, cleaning and then I had an extra deep cleaning to remove tartar behind my teeth). Today, I came back and they were trying to get me to spend way more than I had last time. They were trying to get me to get my built in retainer removed, gum treatments and laser work done. I currently have hmo dental insurance and explained it will be ppo in a few months so that i would like to wait until then to do all of that. I just wanted standard visit today. I sat in the chair for over thirty minutes. I finally sat up and asked when I'd be getting my standard teeth cleaning and they said they weren't doing it. I was really confused since I had been sitting there waiting! They said I refused treatment. I just didn't want to spend over a grand on extra cleanings when in a few months my insurance would cover more of it! They told me it would be a disservice to clean and floss my teeth at that point. Umm ok? Why couldn't you tell me that before I sat there waiting for someone to come in. Also, isn't this the DENTIST?! My appointment was at 10, I left at 11 and all that was done were x-rays and the dentist looking at my mouth for a couple minutes. I have had slight tartar buildup before and early stages of gingivitis at other dentists (like a lot of people). I have never sat in chair for nearly an hour without receiving any kind of treatment! Then having to ask what's going on. What the heck?! Also, I have never had a cavity in my LIFE! Refrain from going here, they'll treat you badly and make you wait forever. This place is a scam and treats their customers badly if they don't cough up money they don't have. Scheduled an appointment with a dentist I used to have in Anaheim Hills. I have tried to think on my one experience here positively, but my gut still feels wrong about it. I hadn't had a dentist in two years and was looking forward to getting my teeth thoroughly cleaned. I have no issues with how friendly the staff were, but the cleaning they did was nowhere near as thorough as I usually expect. I'm sure like many others, I lick the back of my front teeth after a cleaning to feel the spaces between after tartar is removed. Upon looking in the mirror, it was as if they didn't touch my front teeth at all. Tartar was DEFINITELY still on there. I ended up buying a basic kit of metal dental tools and risked cleaning the rest of it up myself which I shouldn't have had to do after going to a professional that knows what they're doing. In addition, man, I have never been sprayed in the face with more water than I have at this place. They only checked on me once to see if it was okay, and they rarely ever patted my face dry despite the fact that my entire face was covered in water. Dr. Tran has been my doctor for more than 7 years. Besides regular cleanings, he did a superb job on my porcelain work to restore 1/2 of a tooth I lost on an accident. He more recently did another outstanding job on a porcelain bridge & deep cleaning. His office staff and medical assistant are always friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Dr. Tran is an outstanding Dentist & Orthodentist. The quality of his work is excellent. I recommended my best friend of 20 years to his office & he did an excellent job with her braces. New to Temecula and whole family is highly meticulous with their teeth. Brush after every meal, floss daily etc... Never had a dentist tell me I had periodontal disease, but this one did! Horrible experience. First, this is a DENTAL CLINIC, ick! But we had an HMO and this was the least bad of the worst, so I thought. I had Xrays, check-up and cleaning. No bad news from the first two items. The DENTIST did the checkup and found nothing major with my teeth. She did try to scare me about the indentations my teeth made on the inside of my cheeks and how it could lead to oral cancer. I've had small indentations inside my mouth from my teeth forever, my cheeks house my teeth makes sense they might take a slight shape. Once the actual cleaning took place I saw the dentist ask the assistant for a swab...and I saw blood. Then the dentist said, "I want to show you something I didn't see on the xray or exam....?!? My crown (I clinch my teeth when I sleep and cracked a tooth over a year ago, hence the crown) It was a 1-year-old crown...and now it had a big chip in it and my tooth underneath was exposed. I could feel air move into it and could prominently feel it with my tongue. She had a slip of her metal cleaning instrument and broke my crown. But she tried to say she didn't see it on xray or visual exam....Let me tell you, If it was chipped prior to the cleaning, I would have felt it and seen it. It was very obvious it was chipped wide open. I thought of confiscating the xray and disputing the whole thing, but I've so sick of incompetent people it wasn't worth my time. Needless to say I was pissed, but my time is worth a lot more than arguing with a green bean twit. I went into that office for cleaning with no problems and came out with a chipped and open crown! NOT GOOD! I told my husband don't even bother to go in and that we needed to up our policy to a PPO. Now it's fixed and I love my local dentist. Funny thing is....Butterfield just called to schedule our 6-month cleaning appointments...when I returned the call to tell her we switched dentists- KATHY hung up on ME!!! Horrifying experience through and through. AVOID them at all cost! I even had a local ORTHODONTIST tell me one of his young staffers had a similar experience, she has impeccable hygiene and Butterfield tried saying she had periodontal disease. The office is very clean and front desk staff always have great attitudes and it's so easy to get along with them. Dr. Jeanie Diep has a warm personality. She makes you feel at home and it's almost like you're talking to your friend not your dentist. I would highly recommend her, she was amazing, knowledgeable, and very caring. Dr. Huey Tran, my daughter's Ortho, personally greets you with a smile when you walk in the door and is timely and efficient and definitely makes an effort to make sure you are comfortable. Sheryl is the sweetest dental assistant and makes you feel as comfortable as you can in the dental chair. Dr. James Lee is not only a great dentist he's also an awesome human being. He is truly genuine when it comes to his patients. After my daughter's braces were taken off she had Xrays and a routine cleaning done by Dr. Lee. However, the xray showed tooth cavities that needed to be taken care of. Jess, the Benefit Coordinator, walked me through the bill and co-pays for fillings that needed to be done for my daughter. She is always open to answer any questions you have and she always welcomes you with a smile every time you walk in the door. Dr. Lee and Jess together provide EXCELLENT customer service. Billing charges are outrageous and they are terrible at scheduling. I lost 2 days of work, showed up to be told there was a mix up. Dentist merely applied crazy glue on tooth and I received endless bills. To avoid collection I paid. I did not ask for 3D xrays, but found out they automatically provide them in order to sell you ortho work. Desperate! Never going back. Dr Tran did an excellent job working on my daughter's cavities! In the past, she always required sedation to have any dental work performed. This place is absolutely fraudulent. I went there almost 3 years ago and still traumatized by the experience. I went there as a young college student, just for a regular cleanup, and they absolutely preyed on me to get money. I always had great dental hygiene, never any dental issues, no pain or sensitivity and they tried to tell me that I had full on decay, needed root canals, teeth pulled, crowns, the whole thing. They were pressuring me to get the procedures done "immediately" and wanted to charge me over $10,000 because if I waited the cost would only go up. They were literally trying to do all my dental work THAT DAY. I was so scared that I didn't go back to any dentist for 2 years and finally after I moved to a new state, I decided to take care of all the "work" I thought I needed done in Illinois. I have now been to two separate doctors in Illinois (just to be sure) and I never even had a single cavity. Dr. Lee and his office would have absolutely destroyed my teeth if I had gone through with their recommendations and as it stands, my teeth are literally perfect.
