I've been to Buttonwood 3 times and this last time I was most disappointed. My friend and I ordered two specialty cocktails - Apple sangria and the happy captain, both which were incredibly sweet and were unable to finish them, our waitress also never asked how they were despite being full the whole hour and a half we were there. I had the fish tacos which were good and she had the chicken Caesar salad. I previously had the blackened salmon salad which sounded good, but was a weird mix of foods together - avocado and citrus honey? It also did not come with any cucumbers or have Greek yogurt on it. read more

We have been there several times. The food is ok. Not bad but not great either. Good pizzas. The service is hit or miss. All depends on what waiter you get. This past time we went there for dinner. The place was packed and busy. We got the table right away. The waiter was nice but not very attentive. We only saw him twice. First time when he took the order, second when he brought the check. This is a great restaurant in Peddler's Village. Went on Black Friday which was pretty busy but we waited a little under a half hour for a party of six. The place is plenty spacious and is very kid friendly. We started with the spinach dip which was creamy, cheesy and not too garlicky which I prefer. I ordered the veggie burger which held its shape in spite of it being made out of quinoa. I do hope they add a plant based option because the flavor combinations here are excellent. I would definitely come back for dinner to try more things on their nicely curated menu. Service was also very prompt and attentive. read more

I went here for lunch with a girlfriend today and sat outside. We were seated quickly and had a lovely waitress. We both ordered salads off their lunch menu, and that is where the trouble started. Her butternut squash salad was a great portion in a huge bowl with lots of lettuce and great toppings. I got the 'twisted greek' salad and I actually laughed out loud looking at it. It was a mini salad with 1/4 head romaine, 3 grape tomatoes, 2 felafel balls about the size of quarters, and scattering of other ingredients. I showed the waitress the discrepancy in size (for the same $11) and asked to speak to the manager. He never came over (although I saw him walk about and avoid us). When given the bill I asked again to speak to the manager, JD did finally come over. I explained my issues with paying $11 for a mini salad with skimpy toppings, then pointed out that my friend also got a salad that was so big she was taking home leftovers! I ate every bite on my plate and actually left the restaurant HUNGRY!! Rather than apologizing, he defended the mediocrity and gave me a lesson on price points and the cost of food. He claimed that the salad is always this way, and next time I should order something else. I was shocked and offended that the manager would treat customers so poorly. I have been patronizing this location for years since it was the Hog Penny, then Sweet Lorraines, now it's the Buttonwood grill and I was underwhelmed and unimpressed. Rather than listening to a customers critique and making it right, there was no apology and or remorse. I will NOT be going back or sending anyone else there. Get your act together Buttonwood and in a service industry the customer is always right. Without repeat customers you will go the way of your predecessors, and Buttonwood Grill will soon be under new management with another new name. This was my second visit. The first was last summer with my oldest daughter. It was warm and we were able to sit outside which was very pleasant. Our food was delicious and I had a sangria drink special that was amazing. Excellent service. This visit was with my younger daughter and we had to sit inside due to weather. Atmosphere was very nice and our service was friendly and prompt. Good was delicious again. My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that I ordered a Stella Artois and it was served in a regular beer glass. I believe Stella should always be served in the chalice. Other than that, we had a great time and will definitely return. read more

It's the same as almost every other restaurant in Peddler's Village unfortunately (except for Nancy's). Average food, average service, high prices, and out the door. The pizza I had was actually pretty good but my friend's meal was bland as anything. They seem to be a burger place, so maybe we made the mistake of not going with the house specialty. Service is excruciatingly slow. Nice servers, but they disappear and it takes forever to get drinks and food. I might return, but it wouldn't be for a while. read more

I was told that the Buttonwood Grill had great hamburgers. It's nearby so I decided to give it a whirl. The first half of my burger was absolutely perfect, juicy, medium rare, just enough salt.....I was thrilled. The first bite into the second half was so salty that I dropped the sandwich. I tried to nibble the other side, but kitchen had dropped tablespoons of salt into the meat! How could someone not notice this? When I told the server, she shrugged her shoulders and did nothing! I suggested she take it to the kitchen and ask the Chef to taste it. She did nothing, no apology, no reduction in the bill. read more

This is my latest favorite restaurant! In 2018. I have been here 3-4 times already! The food options are killer, prices aren't bad! The service is beyond fast and catering. First time in Peddler's Village and it was a slam dunk. Stopped into this Spot and had to try the burgers. Everybody had them and they didn't disappoint. Well prepared and cooked to perfection... Also had the hand cut fries. The wait was not horrible about 25-30 minutes but the weather was good and everybody was cordial and friendly. I had my worst dining experience ever and did not even have a chance to eat at this establishment, the Buttonwood Grill. My wife and I decided to take our to children, 3years and 3 months old, out to lunch while shopping at Peddler's Village. We decided to eat outside on their deck patio. This was on Sunday 5/26/2013. The male Host politely told us it would be a 15 minute wait due to the kitchen being backed up even though we counted 5 tables open and clean, nobody dining at them. We decided to wait, but after the 15 minutes the little one wanted her bottle and our 3 year old daughter was getting hungry and tired. I asked the female hostess if we could just be seated so we could at least start feeding our children. The female hostess rudely replied, "I told you our manager said no one was to be seated due to the back up in the kitchen." I explained the situation and asked to see the manager. I was told that the manager was busy in the kitchen and refused to come out to see us. Naturally annoyed at this point I told her this restaurant had poor service and decided to leave. Another employee thought it would be amusing to say to us very sarcastically, "Well you have a nice day!" I would have expected this kind of treatment in downtown Philly at McDonald's, not at Peddler's Village. So be advised of the lousy staff and the inattentive manager who allows her employees to act this way towards guests. read more

Food was ok, wings were rubbery, when I asked for lettuce wrap (literally just some lettuce to hold my burger) was told by the waitress "we don't do that"....???? I've never received this kind of response when asking for lettuce instead of a bun. Will not be back. read more

My wife and I came here for breakfast multiple times during our stay at Peddler's Village. We had vouchers for free breakfast as part of a deal with the Golden Plough Inn, so I can't speak to prices. The restaurant is directly connected to the Inn, which makes it very convenient for those staying in the village. The breakfast menu was limited, but everything we tried was very good. My wife loved the home fries, as did I. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the pancakes (which I had on a different day) were quite good. We would definitely consider coming back here for breakfast, should we be staying in town at a future date. read more

Arrived at peddler's village around noon and was looking for places to grab a nice lunch and we picked the buttonwood grill. We didn't have to wait more than a few minutes to be seated and the food was delicious! I got a grilled chicken avocado blt, a chicken, sweet potato and kale soup and both were delicious. The rest of my family had a hot pastrami sandwich, lentil soup and a grandma Mia pizza. Everything was great! The service was good, the atmosphere was nice and we arrived just in time because as we were sitting there, the masses arrived and there looked to be a long line of people waiting. We are a family with two young children and we know that outdoor dining is impossible right now without a reservation so I called and made a reservation for an outdoor table for 4:30 pm today. When I called I said we needed a table outside and once he said it was confirmed I again confirmed that it would be for outside and was told yes. When I arrived they said that reservations are for inside and outdoor is a first come first serve basis and there were six tables ahead of us. I was completely shocked because they said nothing about this on the phone when I called and I was assured an outside table. We were of course left with no options as everywhere is packed for outside dining and we can't wait an hour with a 2 year old and 9 month old. I called to complain and was basically told that's the way it is and they don't know why I wasn't told that when I made the reservation. At least two other people in line had been told the same things. To do this during a pandemic when parents don't feel safe with young children inside is insane. read more

We tried the Buttonwood again, we SO wanted to like it! the menu is great, the location is perfect, as I work right across the courtyard and the price isnt bad. But it is SO inconsistent. The service is the only thing that is consistent, and it is consistently bad. Even the folks at the bar dont seem to have any sense of urgency, and the manager we have dealt with our last 2 times still seems to blame everyone else for issues. Server never returned to check? oh, that server was sick. Server forgot to order the childs meal? Server was slammed. We dont need excuses, we just need improvement. read more
