Arrived at peddler's village around noon and was looking for places to grab a nice lunch and we picked the buttonwood grill. We didn't have to wait more than a few minutes to be seated and the food was delicious! I got a grilled chicken avocado blt, a chicken, sweet potato and kale soup and both were delicious. The rest of my family had a hot pastrami sandwich, lentil soup and a grandma Mia pizza. Everything was great! The service was good, the atmosphere was nice and we arrived just in time because as we were sitting there, the masses arrived and there looked to be a long line of people waiting. We are a family with two young children and we know that outdoor dining is impossible right now without a reservation so I called and made a reservation for an outdoor table for 4:30 pm today. When I called I said we needed a table outside and once he said it was confirmed I again confirmed that it would be for outside and was told yes. When I arrived they said that reservations are for inside and outdoor is a first come first serve basis and there were six tables ahead of us. I was completely shocked because they said nothing about this on the phone when I called and I was assured an outside table. We were of course left with no options as everywhere is packed for outside dining and we can't wait an hour with a 2 year old and 9 month old. I called to complain and was basically told that's the way it is and they don't know why I wasn't told that when I made the reservation. At least two other people in line had been told the same things. To do this during a pandemic when parents don't feel safe with young children inside is insane. read more

So far, we've been to Buttonwood Grill twice (both within the last month) and both times we were very pleased (both times we sat at the bar). This is the kind of place that Peddlers Village needs. The first time we went just for a beer and appetizers. They have a really decent draft selection and the bartenders are always offering samples of the beers. I really appreciate that! We tried this butternut squash hummus that had a little apple blended in with it and it was served with goat cheese on top. It was unique delicious! We also got onion rings - they were your typical onion rings and we liked them. Their menu has a lot of ingredients that are really good, but that you don't often see at restaurants in the area (truffle oil, tons of different cheeses, quinoa) and it's really nice to see that. We recently returned to BG for lunch. My husband got this sandwich called 3 Little Pigs (pork loin, pulled pork, bacon, horseradish coleslaw and cheddar cheese caked to the grilled bread) - a heart attack on a plate but it was sooo good. The burger selection is good, in that, you're offered several choices for the "burger" (I think it was: turkey, beef, salmon, bison, quinoa/feta/black bean). I got the quinoa black bean burger in the mediterranean style without the bun and it was delicious! While sitting at the bar, we saw several other dishes come out and they all looked really good as well. We saw a pizza that looked particularly intriguing. Very nice place. Reasonably priced, food is good, nice selection of craft beers. Burgers are a blend of chuck, brisket, and short rib, ground daily on-site. You can taste the difference, it's very fresh, doesn't even need ketchup. Fish tacos are also notable, good flavor. Highly recommend the Manhattan clam chowder - has crab and clam, plus a bunch of other stuff in it that gives it a nice, unique taste. Over the past two years, I've been to the Buttonwood about 10 times. It's not the fanciest restaurant around, but the food quality is consistent and it is a good value. Highly recommend for a casual weeknight meal. Very good beer menu, and service is generally spot on. The burgers are excellent. Some of their higher end items miss the mark a bit. Dined as a party of four and waited around 20 minutes for the hostesses to offer us a table that had been empty the whole time we were waiting. Table was located in bar area behind hostess stand so it was a bit chilly because of the doors being opened and closed all night. Bad location for a table because servers need to cross through the bar area to get to their tables and people are constantly in their way making it very disruptive to our meal. Our appetizer came out a minute before our burgers. Server Angela was not very friendly and was not good at making recommendations. These are the Best Burgers that I've ever eaten! This is my fourth visit and the burgers are CONSISTENTLY great here! Today I enjoyed the Guinness Onion 'n Bacon Burger which contained Guinness BBQ Onions, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Creamy Horseradish, and two Crispy Bacon strips criss-crossed atop the Butcher's Burger (as Buttonwood calls it.) The Butcher's Burger is daily ground from a proprietary mix of....ready????...choice chuck, brisket, and short rib!!! UNREAL!!!! The trifecta of the choice cut!!! All fresh and all 100% ridiculously delicious! The G.O.N.B.B. was served on wax paper atop a bamboo board with a steak knife piercing a dill pickle from the center of the bun through the burger itself. The pickle was pleasant as it was crunchy yet not too sour or garlicky. The bun was soft and able to withstand the burger and its ingredients. In general, burger buns are the foundation and should be sturdy without becoming soggy or breaking apart. This bun passed the test. The cheese was perfectly melted and BBQ onions were not soggy nor did it taste like overly fried breading. A nice touch! The bacon almost had a hint of maple and had the correct amount of crisp without being the least bit flimsy. Thankfully the crisp of the bacon avoided any ounce of char. The amount of creamy horseradish used was light handed. Although I initially hoped for a stronger hand of the horseradish, a larger quantity may have over powered the burger; so in the end I was appreciative of the amount that was ultimately given. Now, to the trifecta of the choice cut...The burger itself was fantastic. Every bite was full of flavor and was moist; not once did I experience biting into any nasty gristle. I ordered natural cut fries which was an included side and they were firm, properly salted, and served at the right temperature. Other sides to choose from were: dill potato salad, cole slaw, fruit salad, greens, or for an extra dollar sweet potato fries. Keep in mind that the wait can be long at times due to the restaurant's popularity. Without call ahead seating you roll the dice but at least you can walk around New Hope and come back in time to be sat. If you want to wait and not leave, they have a bar with televisions to pass the time. Either way...Buttonwood Grille is well worth the wait! read more

Don't waste your time, you are better off going to the McDonalds down the road. This place was beyond filthy, I would seriously think McD's would be much cleaner. And they really need to get their act together as far as seating people. No hostess and waited maybe 15 minutes for one the 10 dirty empty tables to be cleaned off so we could be sat. The table we were sat off was not wiped off, so we did it ourselves . The menus as well were filthy. We ordered salads and were told they were small but it was lunch so we assumed we were fine. Food came, the salads were large. We had no silverware so asked and waited for some to be brought over. In the meantime I noticed a large black hair in my salad. Then the silverware came and there was a hair on there. I sent back my salad and was offered a new one , however was beyond skeeved out by this place at this point so politely said no. My friend did not care to eat her meal after all the hairs, so we just asked for the check. The waitress asked 3 times if she was going to eat hers. Uh no, not trying to catch Ebola. The only thing comped was the salad returned with the hair and no manager stopped by to say sorry. Don't be fooled by the ambience , or Peddler's Village aka DisneyLand. All the restaurants are owned by the same company. I wouldn't recommend eating anywhere in there after this god awful experience. I have lived in the area for years and have visited the Buttonwood Grill several times. Each and every time is a disappointment. Recently, I had lunch with my sister. We ordered the calamari appetizer to share. It arrived with 85% tentacles which neither of us eat. We asked the waitress if she could add more rings to at least make it even numbered with the tentacles. The Manager arrived at our table with the same plate full of tentacles and acknowledged that there were an unusually high amount of tentacles in the plate but could not substitute rings. Both waitress and the manager had a look of disgust on their faces. Like they've heard the same thing 100 times before. Although the Manager offered to take the appetizer off the bill, it was prefaced with a question of whether or not we were going to order entrées. Again, lousy attitude. I realize when you order calamari it comes with both calamari rings and tentacles. Usually it's about 50-50. The entrées were forgettable. For the $75.00 price of lunch (no alcohol) and the attitude of the waitress and the manager, my $$$ is better spent elsewhere. read more

Very friendly staff, but the menus were too glossy to read in the lighting. The food came relatively quickly, but I wasn't that impressed. My mother and sister said they really liked what they ordered, but I had the fish tacos, and they weren't anything special. My fiancé had a southern type salad, but said it wasn't spicy at all, and the salad she had had elsewhere was better that same day. Did not stay and eat. Staff barely said hello when we arrived. Told a young girl when we entered that we had a reservation. She passed it to another young boy who took over. Everything seemed very chaotic- like no one really knew what was going on. Told this boy that we had a reservation. Our party was taken through the restaurant to our table where we noticed on our walk through that the entire place was dirty. Floor was not vacuumed or swept. There was food and mess everywhere visible. All of the tables around were left dirty. I don't think this was a staffing issue, as there were plenty of teenagers/ young adults wearing staff shirts walking around. It did not look very busy since there were lots of opened tables. I did notice there were also people sitting outside so, maybe they were having staffing issues but again- there were so many visible staff members standing around but not one of them was cleaning. They sat us at the only available "cleaned" table which was directly next to a tray of garbage and dirty dishes. This was absolutely grotesque since our table was literally next to this! Our table was still sticky and there was food trash all around the floor. We decided it was just too dirty to stay and eat. We were concerned about food safety if the front of the restaurant looked this bad. We got up to leave and not one employee said a thing to us. read more

Early lite lunch. l ordered blackened salmon salad. The yogurt, avocado, lettuce and radish were fine, blackened salmon, not so much. Thin tail section was quite over cooked. Their take on blackening is burnt bread crumbs, quite literally. Not a single classical blackening seasoning to be found. I just covered the burnt bread crumbs with the yogurt to cover the charcoal taste. The hummus was hand made and while not exhibiting any garlic or tahini, showed nice texture. I am very disappointed as I came here expecting an amazing dinner; however, I ordered my food and found a clump of hair in my salad. How could I eat when there was not only one but multiple pieces of hair intertwined in my salad. In addition the lettuce was yellow. I believe the true color of lettuce should be green. Visited the restaurant today for Easter brunch. The restaurant wasn't full but it was around 2:00 pm. We were seated at the back of the restaurant. Brunch today was $35.99 per person plus tax. Most of the dish trays were empty and took time to refill. They had a ramen station to make your own ramen, the noodle bowl was empty for 15 minutes. The main dishes took forever to refill. The omelette station was unattended for the 45 minutes we were at the restaurant. The carving station had ham and what looked like prime rib. The ham was dried and over cooked and so was the prime rib. We asked for a piece that was medium and after a bit of convincing, the guy finally cut the center, that was well done too. The serving portions for carving station were small. It was embarrassing when another patron had to ask for more meat. The pan seared salmon was also over done and dry and the sweet potato hash undercooked. The only good dish was the Cioppino seafood stew. The better part of the Buffett was the dessert table. There was an assortment of pastries, muffins, and cakes. The server hardly came around to refill our drinks, remove the plates or to bring new cutlery to the table. We had to constantly ask for those things. Here's the kicker, we were still eating when we were given the bill. At that point we were done with the place. We were a party of 3 and they had added a 20% gratuity to the bill. I don't believe this is right nor did our waiter deserved the tip. I will never visit this restaurant again. That's an outrage! It didn't only ruined the experience, but ruined Easter brunch with my family. Horrible food, horrible service! read more

i love the outdoor bar, but it could use some more seating... and chairs that don't make your ass fall asleep. this past weekend, the bar was pretty crowded and there was only one bartender. she was pretty awful, and definitely was not cut out to work at a place that gets that crowded on nice weekends. at one point i felt bad for another patron because she was pretty much ignoring him, despite his eye contact, cash-waving, and attempts to grab her attention. i like that they have a lot of different beers. not on tap, where they have the standards, but in craft cans and bottles. you can also get take-out beer, which is nice. for the cost though you may as well make the trip to the candlewyck. i'll be going back, but basically since it's the closest outdoor bar with tv's. read more

Decor is inviting and warm, and the quality of food is definitely above average. We have been here about four or five times, and my only complain is the high prices. Really wonderful lunch outside at the Buttonwood. Our server was amazing. My Bloody Mary was perfect! We shared wings and they were cooked really well and the sauce was great. Then Jim got the Guinness burger and fries- holy god in heaven... I had a bite and was soooo happy. I got the buttonwood - basically a French dip and coleslaw. I had lunch here today with my mom. She loves the burgers! We both got soup. I got the vegetarian chili which was amazing and my mom got the turkey corn chowder which was way different than we both thought it would be but so good! For my entree I got shrimp tacos and fruit salad. Definitely one of the best I have eaten though usually you get three tacos with an entree and here there was just two. My mom of course got her burger: the Guinness burger with potato salad. She said both were great! The burgers are huge and they gave you a lot of potato salad as well. This is where the breakfast that's included with rooms at the Golden Plough in is held. They give you a voucher for any of the a la carte breakfast items. The omelet was mediocre. The scrambled eggs were dry. The homefries were soggy. Looking for the silver lining here, the upside is that you're allowed to pay in the local currency (US dollars) and drinks are served in clean glasses and mugs.
