I actually noticed this place on my way to Starbucks, but decided to stop here instead, because I love supporting small local businesses. Especially when they're super cute, right off the freeway, and have a decent menu selection. (Check, check, check.) The menu prices had gone up since the last time anyone posted pictures on Yelp, which was not surprising, since it's been a few months, and we all know how much food costs have been going up the past couple of years... I ended up ordering a jalapeno bagel with cream cheese and a medium sized caramel latte. Afterwards, I ended up wishing I had asked them to make that into a BLT, since their menu specified that you could request any sandwich style on any bagel. The photos of banh mi also looked very appetizing, and that was a close second choice for me. Although I would note that, on the menu, it is listed as a "pulled pork sandwich on a French roll." The latte was good-- at least as good as I would have gotten from the competition, and probably a little bit cheaper. The bagel was also surprisingly good, and spicier than expected. My only complaint would be that service was on the slower side for a "drive through." It seems like they are working on this, because the girl who came outside to take my order while I was in line told me that it was her very first day. So, maybe they just need to get the hang of the whole drive through order taking system. Overall, loved the ambiance, loved the service, loved the menu selection and food, and would definitely stop by here again. read more

The coffee is good but the owner of the establishment is a very rude I've gone here for years and spent lots of money and been treated very poorly by her numerous times !!!she does stamp cards so after every 12th coffee I believe you get a free one but every time you go there to get your free one she has an attitude every time won't be going here anymore because of her attitude!!! Horrible 2 her customers!!! read more

We came here on our way back from a camping trip in Tahoe. We loved the idea of a drive thru coffee shop that wasn't a chain, however we went in to order anyway. The service was fast, and they were very friendly. The place is clean and very pretty with lots of windows and space to sit and enjoy your coffee. We ordered the breakfast croissant with ham and Swiss cheese, it was good but the best thing was their coffee! Vanilla iced latte was so delicious!! read more

Coffee is so good!!! They serve Peerless Coffee, which I love! If you're in Colfax with a hankering for coffee check out Buzz-Thru Joe's. Skip the corporate place and drive just a little bit further to Buzz-Thru Joe's. You'll not regret it! They have a large selection of coffee drinks (their mocha is amazing) as well as teas, boba teas, smoothies and more. A really good food menu too (way better than SB) with bagels, donuts, sandwiches... all drinks and food are made with high quality, fresh ingredients and prepared with love!! So much better than Star(you-know-what)!!! (No offense, it just is!) My family has lived in Colfax for many decades now and this place is very special. The donuts here can be really good, but they're pretty inconsistent. The main staff during the day are usually very friendly and helpful, especially the sweet Asian lady and her family you can tell they put love into what they make. That said, the experience really depends on who's working. The woman who's there early in the mornings often seems unhappy to be there. She's a bit rough with the food and tends to just throw items like donuts into the microwave, which makes them rubbery. The breakfast burrito I got from her wasn't good either. The bánh mì and croissants are definitely worth trying, and the drinks aren't bad. Prices are a little on the high side, but when the right people are working, it feels more worth it. I recommend going later in the day when there's more selection and better service. I gave 4 stars because when the main lady is there she's so sweet. read more

Very okay, glob of smoked salmon on the nova lox, didn't look appetizing.. bagels weren't anything to remember, coffee way too sweet and grainy at the bottom for some reason. very cute location and nice worker which is why I'm giving 3/5 but the food and drink was 2/5 stars read more

The people working were extremely nice! I was just a bit disappointed to pay $7.25 for a cup of coffee that was all milk (80ish percent milk in a 16oz cup) I got the toffee mocha and the toffee element was great, I just had to add coffee of my own after I got back home. The shop itself is pretty and they have good customer service though! I'm sure everything else on the menu is delightful, just maybe ask for an extra shot or two if you get that toffee mocha! read more

Everything here is delicious home cooked food. Good portions and great price. We have tried several items and all have been delicious. The lady who runs it is always so happy and nice. Our favorite is the grilled pork sandwich (Bahn mi), and the lox bagel. You won't be disappointed. We make it a point to stop here every time we go up or down the pass. read more

I'm very disappointed for the first time for the 1st time in 6 years of me coming here. It's christmas morning.. not exactly busy.. anyway, I got biscuits and gravy, two bagels with cream cheese, BLT with extra mayonnaise also a blended drink.I would like to preface that they are usually good with there proportions. 1st with the biscuits and gravy I opened it.. absolutely barley any! I should not be able to taste the biscuit more the gravy.. 2nd the bagels are usually overfilling with cream cheese! opened it.. i would doubt if there was 2 swipes of cream cheese.. very disappointing...3rd the BLT we asked for extra mayonnaise.. there was not even a full squeeze.. and the most the drink. Usually a blended drink is supposed to be blended.. i had chunks of ice in my mouth.. im not sure if it's the teens that are working today.. or the new hire.. but i don't leave reviews that often unless i really need too. I hope this reaches them. read more

Mmmm Peerless coffee! I love stopping here vs the big coffee shop (starb#%ks). The staff and owner are so nice and the coffee is awesome. I got a small coffee and a triple espresso for $5!! Their donuts and breakfast/lunch stuff looks great too, but I haven't tried them, yet. Love supporting a local business. read more

I used to love buzz thru Joe's. MY DAD AND I WOULD GO EVERY MORNING AND GET A DONUT. We stoped going because we got to busy. But recently I had been wanting a donut from them because I remembered them being so good. I checked there website and everything.. SAID IT WAS OPEN ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY...IT WAS NOT OPEN EVERY SINGE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY A WHOLE MONTH AND LONGER. Finally I went on a week day I got a fonut and a Rootbeer freeze.Donut tasted bad and freeze was ok. but let me tell you they had horrible horrible service. She was rude to us and then while she was making my freeze a drive-through customer pulled up. They waited there about three minutes and she ignored them so they rang the bell four times or so she just ignored them and then they drove up and looked and they saw us in there but I think they might be confused because they weren't getting any service so then they drove away because they weren't getting service she said in her head to herself OK drive away then Whatever and then gave us our food. She said have a good day and was snotty voice.I wish I could give a better review but I can't. read more

I love supporting local, so I make sure to stop here for coffee if I'm heading back over the hill. They have coffee drinks of nearly every kind, including daily drink specials, and the will make any coffee or espresso drink ICED for free! You can also get most drinks blended, aka "freeze" style. Joe's also has smoothies, breakfast burritos, bagels with cream cheese, croissants, muffins, scones, yogurt parfaits, salads, sandwiches, and other lunch items. The staff is always friendly, and the drive-thru only factor is pretty convenient (you can also walk-up to the window if not in a car)! We stopped here as an alternative to our favorite coffee / breakfast place in town . The coffee was mediocre, they forgot my wife's hot chocolate , it came late. The bagels where like the cheapest store bought junk one could possibly by. Each half of bagel was about 3/8 inch thick. The price was almost $17 for 1 small coffee, 1 small ( late) hot chocolate, 2 ridiculous bagels. Not ever going back. Not a huge dan of starbucks, but that would be better than this joint. read more

I really wanted to like this place as my friends frequent it on the way up to the snow. The coffee was good but they did something that totally surprised me. I ordered a breakfast burrito and they cut it in half diagonally and melted cheese on top? They missed the whole concept of the burrito. It's supposed to be food that you can pick up and eat without tools. A quick convenient breakfast. Now I was forced to try to keep these two awkwardly shaped bits covered in messy cheese from falling apart as I ate it. I just don't get what they were thinking... I also got a caramel latte double to go and that was a decent cup of Joe. The prices were reasonable and the service was pretty fast. All the components of a decent pit stop but the burrito was a mess and I would not order that again. I hope they read this review and I save someone's day in the near future. read more

I'm so shocked with this place! The food was fresh and tasty, the coffee was a perfect balance of sweet and coffee with a nice touch of whipped cream, and the chocolate donut was very soft. The price was beyond right! The service was great, very sweet girl! We came 30 minutes before closing and we were still pleased with the quality and service. I wish I was local because this would be my go to spot! My partner also ordered a breakfast sandwich and a smoothie that he really enjoyed. I guess the owner has decided that Colfax is just a pass through for the out of towners because after all the years of supporting this local business the other morning when it was 100 degrees and I bought $20 worth of stuff which has not become over-priced...she has decided to charge a buck for a cup of water... guess what the coffee place down the road will GLADLY give me a cup of water for FREE even without a purchase. Skip Starbucks when you are passing through and hit up Buzz Thru Joe's! The lines are shorter, they have a small drive though and they are super wonderful! They have boba! The little donut holes here are scrumptious. Their loved coffees delicious and the bagel was fresh. My only complaint was they had ran out of boba for boba tea and I had my heart set on it. But I can't hold that against them. The service was also superb! read more

When you walk in it smells so good and the music is cool with a great vibe! I got there right when they opened (730 am) and got a cup of strong coffee. It was strong and tasty! They have a limited menu of food items but i heard the 6 minute egg on toast is screaming! RICO the barista is friendly and knowledgeable and knows his stuff! You can get fresh coffee beans on the spot! There is inside seating so you can relax inside or just take it to go. A must visit when you are in the area! Plenty of parking and inside decor is welcoming. Good job!

It took a long time to come out even though most of the other guests who were there had already left. I know the food is cooked fresh but felt like it was probably understaffed. If there's something you want, I'd order from the start. Overall, ok experience, mostly for convenience to the lodging.

The pesto was super fresh! The smoothie was perfect for the kids to split. It was even topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. Every toddler's dream!
