Unfortunately, the third time was not the charm. I came back today to give them one more shot. I really was hoping this place would be my go-to matcha spot, but it's time to move on. The matcha was very watered down again. My recommendation would be to simply add more matcha. One scoop for the large isn't enough to bring the flavor. Again, maybe others put more - it might just be dependent on the barista, but it would be helpful to have a consistent process. As a real estate agent, I'm on the road all the time, so I end up in coffee shops in pretty much every town in Westchester. And BXVL is one of my few favorites in the entire county. This place instantly made me feel like a regular the first time I walked in. The owners are absolute sweethearts and you can feel their care in everything they do. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and genuinely happy to see you when you walk in, which honestly makes a big difference. And the coffee? It's off the charts. It's consistently excellent and clearly taken seriously here. I'm big on their Americano, espresso, cappuccino and regular coffee. Then, there's the atmosphere. It's in the old Bronxville train station, and it has a comfortable, cool vibe. This is the place I love coming back to again and again. And it's not just for the coffee, but for how the people and the place make me feel. And it's not just me. Every time I'm in there, I tend to see the same people over and over again who are also enjoying their coffee and this coffeehouse. I wish I could give BXVL more than 5 stars! read more

I have only had their matcha but do not recommend. Very grainy and bitter. It actually mainly just tastes like milk. I was going to back in to have it fixed however my train was pulling up. Maybe they have better beverages but the matcha is not good. Service is good, very nice staff. And clean environment. However I don't think I will be back. read more

Stay away from this racist establishment. I was greeted warmly by the 2 ladies working the counter. I sat down with my laptop for 15 minutes, and then was approached by a white man who I guess was the owner. He says I have to leave. I ask why and he says these areas are for customers, and I said I was. He proceeds to ask where are your items, and I tell him I didn't order anything yet. He rudely says I need to order something, and I tell him he doesn't need to speak to me like that, as it was coming across rude and racist as I was the only black person in the shop at the time. He then tells me I have to leave because he doesn't like my attitude. I hope all people of color aren't treated like this. read more

Expect delectable offerings to match the soaring ceiling and decadent style at this revamped, Bronxville Metro North train station- turned Café. Since I'm not a coffee drinker, I didn't let the 'Coffeehouse' name fool me- because there are other treasures I didn't want to miss out on especially after reading a BXVL article in Westchester Magazine. Just so you know, you'll get Hot Cocoa here- not Hot Chocolate. But don't let it deter you because BXVL's Dark Hot Cocoa is just as rich as the second. Plus this Hot Cocoa, isn't the Swiss Miss 'chocolate' powder some of us used eons ago. There's a beautiful large wooden table front and center with high tops surrounding the area including another high top facing the Metro North train tracks. The menu isn't just dedicated to java- there are pastries, salads, "adult" popsicles (I call them that because they're not typical pops), Vegan and Vegetarian items. I started my morning and paired a super moist Dark Chocolate+Banana muffin with a rich Hot Cocoa topped with whip to get the ultimate chocolate fix. And let me not forget Aidan's friendly, attentive service and Hot Cocoa making skills! Hot Cocoa is king here and loved it. So if you're a chocolate lover, I recommend- no, insist on trying BLXV. I had a terrible experience at BXVL. I paid for a flat white but the barista forgot to make it. I was told I'd get a refund, but after following up, I still hadn't received it. When I contacted the shop, the manager was extremely rude, dismissing my request and saying they "don't do business like this" and that I should have come in personally--despite their staff admitting the mistake. There are very few (well, at the moment, no) good coffee shops, in my opinion, in Bronxville. I may be alone in this opinion, but I have pretty high standards when it comes to coffee. BXVL is certainly the best option in Bronxville. It offers ample seating and a comfortable atmosphere to work in or hang out. The only problem with it is that the coffee they serve is awful. They serve La Colombe coffee which is far too dark and over-roasted for my taste. If only they changed the coffee they serve, we might have ONE good option in Bronxville... read more

A cute little coffee spot located at the Bronxville train station. An assortment of hot and iced coffee and tea drinks as well as croissants and some other pastries. Service, despite what other reviews have indicated, seemed friendly. The masala chai was a bit too spicy for my taste. I couldn't tell if the barista who made it just didn't know the appropriate spice level or if the coffeehouse serves it strong. The iced spiced hibiscus tea, however, rocked! MOST RUDE SERVICE IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! I've never had a more horrible experience at any restaurant/cafe in my life. As you can see reading any of these reviews, the owner Charu Rana is incredibly rude and unhinged. After having an extremely negative and rude interaction with her yesterday morning, I wrote a negative Google review. I had brought my friends to this cafe earlier in the month and we had stale coffee and overpriced croissants. Bad experience, and bad service, but nothing review worthy. I told them about my terrible experience yesterday and they decided on their own to write a review and share their own private negative experiences. The owner then STALKED US ALL ONLINE and posted a response claiming because we had all gone to college together that we were orchestrating a conspiracy "to write fake reviews to hurt a small business" and "ganging together to try to hurt others." I'm genuinely speechless. You certainly have the right to defend your business and pbut stalking users online and throwing personal attacks at customers is absolutely ridiculous. Walked in to their wonderful coffeehouse and boy is it very nicely put together, there were two gentlemen before me in suits waiting to grab their morning joe and run off to work. These two gentleman in their penguin suits were greeted ever so warmly. I thought the staff might have known one of the gentleman intimately by the tone of the way they were greeted by the staff of BVXL. It was my turn, I then approached and said "good morning" while smiling and was met with deafening silence. I then tried again and said "hello" and smiled and they grew annoyed and said "can I take your order"? There was no line behind me by the way, hence there was no rush so why a impetus to cut the early morning pleasantries? I then ordered two croissants which turned out to be soft. Real croissants from Paris or any decent place makes them crispy and buttery! Not soft and tasteless and having the texture of bread rolls rather than flaky, buttery goodness. Anyhow, the difference between the gentleman who ordered and were treated so well and myself is that I'm not Caucasian. I dressed decently khakis and a dress shirt no sweats but even if I was in sweats I could not at the minimum get a "good morning"? I honestly don't care if your racist and don't like Black or Brown people that's okay. I've been dealing with this silliness since I was a child. You're entitled to your opinion but please don't share it with me. We don't have to be friends I'm okay with that. When I order just greet me for Christ sake. It's common courtesy. I don't want to greet you either. I'd prefer to just walk in and order but I'm a civil person and don't want to make you feel bad so I greet ya. I won't be going here again. The deafening silence was so piercing that I bothered not to order a coffee or a drink and I just took my croissant and ran of course after having paid for it. And I did not tip and I usually tip especially since those jobs don't pay much. My heart is broken this morning. I want to cry. I just may. I wouldn't be surprised if in one of their staff's replies to this post try to defend their actions and say it wasn't what it was, and say "we might have not heard you etc," but of course you did, of course you heard me, because you heard me when I stated my order. My favorite coffee spot in the area! The coffee is always fresh and delicious, and their seasonal specials are out of this world. Pair that with excellent sandwiches and snacks, a warm and welcoming vibe, fantastic staff, and a beautiful transformed space to create an overall wonderful experience. the drinks are pretty good, but the owner/manager (?) is quite rude to customers. she approached my friend and I while we were sitting at a table with a very reasonable request--we had bought coffee from here, but were sitting at their outside tables eating food from another local store, and she wanted to let us know that food from other places wasn't allowed. if she had approached and simply told us like that, I would have no issue. however, instead of just informing us normally, or asking us to either put away the food or go somewhere else, she approached us very angrily and began ranting about how we were being disrespectful to the coffee shop and we wouldn't treat a restaurant this way, and generally speaking to us very rudely. I felt like I was a kindergarten student being scolded by a teacher, not a paying customer of a business. She also made some weird, passive-aggressive and morally judgy comments about other business owners to us unprompted, which was strange. Again, I would've had no issue if she had just told us normally that there was no outside food allowed--that's a reasonable rule and request! But instead she was rude and angry right out of the gate. We have been here twice, two days in a row since we ran out of coffee beans at home. Charu and Paul are very friendly and accommodating. Their space at the train station has a soaring ceiling with lots of light and feels cozy. My espresso was well done in a nice little pottery cup and Marion's latté was also nicely presented in a stylish cup. The espresso was strong enough with nice crema. The owners are incredibly sweet and I appreciate how much they diversify their menu! The Masala chai's are mine and my families favorite!! Such a great new place! This coffee bar reminds me of a special European cafe. It's really the perfect mix of the architectural beauty of the place, and the unique drinks and food. Bottom line is that it welcomes me from the moment I enter -the very best day to start the workday. They offer some outdoor seating (they have wifi) which is great. Horrible to Essential Workers. I have come to this place a few times for a coffee/tea but after what I witnessed today I don't think I will ever go again. If you have a conscience do not go to this place. An essential worker (bus driver) had to use the restroom and was denied access unless he bought something. He explained that he had bought something there many times and just needed to use the restroom and they still denied him. Customers stood up for the poor man who finally left. The place is nice but makes you feel obligated to buy a coffee which costs more expensive than in Starbucks. You feel like you have to buy something in order to wait in the station. The cafe needs to be devided from a waiting area in order to not make you feel uncomfortable if you don't buy anything and just want to wait for a train in a warm place. Fantastic space, the old Bronxville train station circa 1916 with modern flourishes while preserving the classic Mission style architecture. Fantastic tapas options.
