We were deciding between a few caterers and had a tasting with the Perry's that just sealed the deal. My (now) husband and I walked out of there saying it felt like we just had lunch with our aunt & uncle, it felt like we had known them that long! They are two amazingly warm people -- of course it helps that John is incredibly organized and good at his job and that Nikki makes the most delicious bites. We devoured every little last bite at that tasting.. Nothing went to waste! John was so helpful with everything leading up to the day of as well, from picking out rentals, to working out our timeline. We decided to have a different format (cocktail stations as opposed to a formal sit-down dinner) and working together, John helped us make sure we'd have a smooth flow and that everything would go off without a hitch. As we were working out the details with the rentals, I never felt like he was pushing me one way or the other -- even when he put together the list of kitchen items they'd need (my venue did not provide any set-up), I knew he was being careful about not over-ordering. I really felt like he had my best interests in mind at all times. Having him to coordinate all the details made me feel at ease.. I knew I was in good hands! On our actual wedding day, we were so well taken care of. The staff made sure we were eating (haha, doesn't always happen at weddings!) and everything ran so smoothly. Later in the evening, a very traumatic family emergency happened during the reception that put a frightening pause on the celebration. John was a rock and I really felt like I looked to him for the "What now?" John & Nikki were different from some of our other vendors with whom we'll probably not be in touch again. I feel like we'll be sending John & Nikki Christmas cards for years to come.. :) They embraced us and made us feel like family, and I'm certain they will you too.

John, Nikki, and the staff of A Small Affair are professional, attentive, and easy to work with. My guests and my husband and I were thrilled with the whole "affair". Food was delicious, well prepared and presented. Staff were helpful and considerate. Call these people- you will be happy with your choice.

We wanted our dinner to feel like a Michelin-star-rated experience, and they delivered that and more. Our guest are still talking about the hors d'oeuvres passed around during cocktail hour. As the bride, I unfortunately did not get to enjoy that hour between pictures and getting ready for our entrance into the reception, but Matt thinks of all that, and every time I turned around there was a plate for my husband, wedding party and I waiting. The lobster rolls were my favorite. They were very popular amongst our guest as well. The French-style service was flawless. The food came out piping hot and our guest really enjoyed being able to eat a little of each meat brought out. They didn't have to pick an entree; they were served everything! They were able to eat the chicken, tuna, AND steak if they wanted! The dishes were bursting with flavor. One thing that truly sets them apart is their gift for hospitality. Each server and bartender treated our guests with warmth and professionalism. I had a cocktail on my table every time I turned around with fresh ice. Although, I didn't get to drink much lol. I would love to comment on my communication with them; however, I eventually hired wedding planners to take care of that on my behalf. They did mention that Christine is very professional and easy to communicate with. Before I brought them on though, Matt was very quick to return any calls and even did a house visit during one of my pre-wedding panic attacks to assure me that he had it! If you're looking for a caterer who elevates food and brings genuine heart to their work, Christopher Michaels catering is it! I will 100% recommend them and use them for any future celebrations. Thank you, Matt, and team!

I received a phone call about ten minutes later. They ran out of brisket! The owner Chris called me personally. He offered several reasonable substitutions, but we really wanted the brisket. Chris was very pleasant, personable and polite. He instructed me to call back next Thursday through Sunday, as those are the only days the brisket is sold. The owner apologized for the inconvenience, and said he would include extra brisket in our upcoming order to compensate for their shortage. Chris said to simply place a reminder in the notes on the third party app. He made the resolution so simple! We ordered yesterday, and indicated Chris' instructions on the third party app. The order was delivered quickly and perfectly! The brisket was well worth waiting for, and the restaurant definitely gave us extra meat, as promised. The meat fell right off the fork. I didn't even need to use a knife. This is melt in your mouth brisket, complete with the smoke ring. Real deal. We requested that they put the marinade on the side. Like any good piece of meat, the marinade was complementary, but not necessary. It was just like when you go to an exceptional steakhouse, if the meat is high quality, steak sauce and additional condiments are not required. The corn bread was homemade, soft and tasty. The fries were nicely seasoned and very fresh. The coleslaw and onion rings were excellent. The macaroni and cheese was an interesting blend of shell pasta with a thick peppery cheese sauce. Very good. I would definitely recommend this eatery. Everything was amazing. I will be a repeat customer. I would also like to thank Chris personally for his professionalism and excellent customer service. You should try them if you are looking for great barbecue! A+++

The restaurant we originally picked had a 20 minute wait... and with two hangry toddlers, we crossed the street and saw a restaurant sign on top of a neat looking bar. It is actually next to a bar as well, so we eyeing sure it was for the kids. I stood outside and the clock struck 2pm, and a nice gentleman opened the velvet rope for us and said "come in, we were open." Not knowing if this was for the kids or not, we walked in and saw one of the most interesting interiors I have seen in awhile. It was fun and different. The manager made it fun as well as he has a great attitude and happy to help in terms of recommendations. The menu itself is big and you will need some help. The first thing was needing to get food to two little hangry ones, so we asked for noodles, which he got on immediately, getting in a pancit order. That came out first and my wife and I took a few extended moments as the menu is extensive. I ordered the chicken and waffle with bang bang shrimp and my wife had the steak with rice and onions. Both dishes were flavorful and definitely enjoyable. I could definitely go back in again if I ever head back or East, but maybe taking the Long Island railroad would be better since it is across the street from the train station. Definitely stop in for a drink and enjoy the cool little toys and designs around the restaurant. This restaurant definitely provides variety of you want to try something new!

Lots of parking, unique decor, with a friendly staff. We ordered a few Filipino dishes like sisig, chicken inasal, fried lumpia, and regular stuff like fried mushrooms and disco fries. Everything was wonderful and tasted great. The new place definitely has growing pains, sometimes apps came out with the entrees, silverware and plates came after the courses, took a while for our bill to come, but these are little things that will be taken care of once they have a proper waitstaff. We're definitely going to be back.
