Celebrated my birthday brunch at Cècile Trattoria and it was a beautiful and memorable experience! The hospitality and customer service were exceptional, and the entire staff made my party and I feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. A special thank you to hostess Gaya, who greeted us so warmly and made sure my birthday reservation and seating were perfect. Our waiter Alvi was fantastic - attentive, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. If you love champagne and spritz cocktails, I highly recommend their Rosé Champagne and spritz selections -- perfectly crafted, beautifully presented, and delicious. The truffle pizza was fantastic, and every dish from the sea bass to the chicken was cooked exactly how we requested. A special shoutout to Ramon, who brought out many of our dishes with such fun energy and had a great personality that made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself has such an elegant, intimate, and relaxing atmosphere that made the celebration feel extra special. Ramon surprised me with a beautiful slice of their homemade Napoleon cake with a candle, along with complimentary pistachio ice cream that paired perfectly with their delicious pistachio coffee. Decided to give this place a chance. The food was okay, but the pasta portion felt small for $30. The chicken in both the sandwich and parmigiana was dry and overcooked, though the flavors overall were decent. We also asked for the coffee menu, but our server never brought it. Food took about 35-40 minutes to come out. If you want an aesthetic spot, this is definitely it. Wanted to do Italian so we found one in the alley near the Glendale Marketplace. We just decided to hop in for a light lunch and we were surprised! We really enjoyed everything and tuna tartare really did it for us. Amazing flavors and we'd get this again in a heartbeat. Shrimp scampi was flavorful with thicker pasta than I've had before but man I could eat two portions of this! I'm writing this review from my daughter's account because I do not have a yelp account. I planned my daughter's surprise 21st birthday here. I planned everything out with the owner Marina, and stated that this was the first time we were going to dine there and that I want to keep it a surprise and I even mentioned that my guests will come 30 minutes before us. She told me not to worry and that everything will be taken care of. All of our guests kept the secret for a whole month despite being around my daughter multiple times before her birthday. Everything was going smooth until we met with the unwelcoming hostess outside. I said hi to the hostess and that I have a reservation for 2 for my daughter's birthday. She did not say hi or greet us and instead said "no you don't." I said again"yes for my daughter's birthday." To which she replied "it's not for 2 people, you are a big party." In that moment I was shocked because again, I had mentioned to the owner to keep it a surprise. I then winked a few times and smiled then said "no just us 2 for her 21st birthday." She then continued arguing and said "no you guys are 22 people." In that moment the surprise was ruined for my daughter before she can even walk in. I was so frustrated in that moment I said "can we just go inside." When I walked inside she quickly went in front of my daughter not allowing her to go inside and when my guests saw this they got up and started walking towards the door. They ended up yelling surprise to the hostess before my daughter could even walk in. Most of my guests took a video of everything that happened from beginning to end. The hostess never apologized and the entire time we were there she kept walking past our party and giving us dirty looks as if I ruined her surprise. Despite her, everything else was good. The food was great and so were the waiters and servers. The bartender was also great. However, what the hostess did created a hostile environment that my guests were even noticing and couldn't believe how she treated my daughter on her birthday. It was a Sunday afternoon in Glendale and after some Christmas shopping, it was time to get some food and enjoy some lunch. My wife and I couldn't settle on what to get, so we went with some Italian at Cecile Trattoria. This place has a bunch of different options for pasta, meat entrees, salads, appetizers, and whatever else you could think of grabbing at an Italian place. For me, Chicken parmesan was on the mind so that's exactly what I ordered. Now, usually when you order Chicken Parm from a restaurant, you are served a piece of chicken with some cheese, sauce, and of course some pasta underneath it or on the side, well, not here. So when the plate was served in front of me it did include a good sized piece of chicken with some sauce and cheese on it, but no pasta or spaghetti served with it, and instead you get a small salad along with some mashed potatoes. Now the chicken itself tasted good and I did like it, but the mashed potatoes on the side did not taste very good at all and made kind of a weird pairing that wasn't great. The salad was fine, but again, when you order chicken parm you kinda expect some sort of pasta with it and the lack of kind of killed the meal a bit. Overall, Cecile Trattoria was fine enough with service and ambience, but the food was just kind of a let down. Would I come back? Wasn't planning on writing a yelp review which is why I didn't take any pics, but got so annoyed after yesterday Mother's Day lunch that I just felt the need to. Most of these things I let go of until I realized they don't care and I'm being screwed so here is a list of every issue minor and major - We had reservations (we were late) so I went to check in and the hostess said let me get my iPad from inside. Took her 5 minutes to come back out. Mind you I am 7 months pregnant, in wedge heels, and a toddler, waiting outside in the hot sun - They sit us outside even though we reserved inside - there was a lipstick stain on my cup that we kindly asked them to just replace - the waiter told me they don't have strawberries for my toddler, i asked if they have other fruit and he said he will ask the kitchen. He came out and said we don't have strawberries and I said that's ok, is there anything else? He said, again, let me check. Came back and told me they have a small fruit platter and when they brought it out it was half strawberries.. ok lol - we ordered Caesar salad w chicken, lemon pasta w chicken, heirloom burrata, and truffle fries. The chicken on both main plates was SOOO dry and dark, I could not even crush it with my fingers. I showed the waiter he said let me get a fresh plate. They brought me a new plate with the same dry chicken just a little lighter in color. Barely any dressing on the salad itself. I just took 5 bites of dry chicken salad and put it aside. My husband had the same chicken in his pasta dish but had a lot of sauce so it had some moisture. The pasta was also overcooked and not al dente - the heirloom tomatoes were paper thin and flavorless - the fries were mostly good, to be completely honest some were a little undercooked, but whatever - I asked the speak to a manager and no one came for 10 min so I walked to the hostess and asked again, the manager showed up right after. I told her I'm not trying to get a free meal but I want you to know of all these issues. She asked what would you like me to do? I said that's up to you. - they brought water when we first sat down and not again until I walked up to the hostess and asked for it - they gave me a warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream on the house which honestly I didn't want and we took 1 bite of it as it was hot and we wanted to leave. If I don't like the food I'm eating, do you think I want more of your food? She could have just removed the chicken off the bill and it would've been fine, but they didn't remove anything which was a slap in the face. None of us finished any of our food and paid full price for garbage. First time we came here last year it was delicious but now the service and food quality have dropped immensely. ** Edit since Yelp won't let me reply to management. We did reserve inside as the ONLY location you can reserve online is/was inside. We were 15 min late and once more, I checked online and you had open slots for reservation every 15 minutes the whole day so please don't talk to me about canceling my reservation. Yes, it was busy, but it wasn't crazy and we definitely gave a lot of grace for that. If my water is done, maybe I would ask for more if the waiter showed up. That chicken you served us was NOT cooked that day and if it was then your chefs have never cooked chicken before. If your customer has a problem with the food they ordered then instead of giving more food, just remove that dish from the receipt. Feels like common sense. If your business cannot handle that many patrons then don't accept them. Are you going to blame the lipstick on the cup as it being busy too? Maybe they forgot to add a decent amount of dressing to my Caesar salad since it was busy, hmm. read more

Was in Glendale and had been by this restaurant before, so decided it was time to give this Italian restaurant a try. We were able to walk in and get a table without a reservation, which is always nice. Ambiance is nice, has a "clean" vibe. You're started with an assortment of breads, assuming made in house, and some butter. Nothing necessarily outstanding but always nice to have. We ordered the tuna tartare as a starter. The first bite didn't taste like anything special, but the subsequent bites tasted like there was a little seasoning to go along with the tartare, which just made the other flavor in the tuna and avocado pop off and accentuate themselves. Ended up being a nice appetizer. For entrees, we tried the lemon pasta and carbonara. The lemon pasta really didn't stand out in any way being spaghetti, lemon and shallots. I believe there is an option to add protein, and I definitely would, but, honestly, I'd try something else on the menu. The Carbonara, on the other hand, was very good. Had a great chew to the pasta to pair with the crispiness of the guanciale and the creaminess of the sauce. Just an all around nice bite. Also, I tried their passion fruit lemonade, which was something I had not seen anywhere else, and it was very refreshing and flavorful. Overall, a very nice new Italian restaurant to LA, and especially if you're around the Glendale area. I see that every plate is crafted with thoughtfulness and presentation even the cocktails and that is such a delight! Lovely. Quite a rare find in a bustling pedestrian area surrounded by equally pedestrian restaurants. Came here for husband's birthday and had a great time. Elegant interior with beautiful chairs and linen and tastefully decorated. The food was truly delicious and very authentically Italian. Service was very polite and attentive. We ordered the zucchini flowers (beautifully light tempura) the truffle beef carpaccio (sliced paper thin, delicious), the truffle risotto, the pappardelle bolognese, the rack of lamb (which came smoked under a cloche, very elegant presentation) and branzino (sublime) with a side of broccolini and wild toasted mushrooms. Finished off with a chocolate moelleux, a panna cotta and a baked gelaska (gelato + Alaska) which had a beautiful table side finish: meringue was piped onto the glass and then toasted with a blow torch. Food was really excellent. I would definitely come here again. My only quibble is that we brought our own wine (corkage fee was $35, reasonable and fair) but the restaurant did not have a decanter. I was looking forward to trying out this new Italian restaurant that opened in Glendale. In fact, I was so excited about it that I made a reservation to come here on a celebratory dinner. As they just opened, they have a few critical things that they still need to iron out. Overall, the experience was just "ok" and there were a few draw-backs that set my rating to a 3. It matters to me where we sit at a restaurant. If I'm going to sit through a 90mins meal, I don't want to sit at just any table. I had my eye on a table by the wall that I thought was intimate, so I requested to sit there. Unfortunately the restaurant told me the table was booked, and we were seated at a table that was more by the walkway. I wasn't too pleased at this first impression, as I had made a note in the reservation that we were celebrating, but alas, another pair took the table. We asked for regular water for the table, but they said they don't have that, and our only option was to purchase their $10 bottled water. Hmm, isn't it California law to serve regular tap water free of charge to customers to ask for it? This was a big turn off. Next, I asked for a wine menu, and they said they don't have that ready yet... Instead they brought out a few bottles of room-temperature white wines (that were meant to be cold) and I just selected one. That was a bit strange. They also don't sell any beers, so you better like cocktails and wines! What I ordered: - Spicy soprassata pizza - this was very good and I enjoyed the unique flavors. It took a tad bit longer for it to come out, but the wait was worth it. I'd order this again. - Chicken parm - I'm usually used to having this served with either pasta or rice, but this dish came with neither. Meat was borderline dry and I found the sauce a bit bland. Nothing special. Also quite small for $36. - whole branzino - this was very nice and well-seasoned. Still flaky and well-cooked, this was a nice dish. However I would've loved some rice or small bit of vegetables to go with this meal, without having to order another dish of sides. - Dubai chocolate tart & espresso - this was a lovely way to finish the meal. Very good chocolate flavor and pistachio crumbles was a win! I did like how the restaurant is rather small and intimate. The interior was nicely decorated and the music was at an appropriate volume where we didn't have to scream over each other just to talk. Our sever was friendly and well-attentive. However, I'm not sure why some people who worked there dressed like they were coming from the streets and didn't dress more appropriately to match the vibe of the restaurant. If they're trying to set this place up as an 'elegant' restaurant and have a 'dress code policy' on their website, the people who represent the restaurant should also be dressed to match the vibe, and not be wearing sneakers and jeans/street wear. Their salads are much larger portion wise and I do like that they accommodate with adding protein to the dish since most of their options do include any. Their website claims to have a dress code, and to offer great hospitality and an 'elevated' dining experience, but that's not what we got. We ordered drinks - a lychee martini (excellent) and a glass of wine. Also, we requested waters. Fifteen minutes later, server brought drinks. No interaction between, nor explanation for delay, but obviously the other two tables ordered cocktails at the same time and bartender was overwhelmed. Order was taken, bread delivered and we again requested water. We were told they don't offer water, they only sell it. $10 per bottle and it looks like it's bottles filled in house. Seriously. We declined, but I have to say, this is ridiculous. They offer bread with butter and oil. It was outstanding. We got a Blue Fin Tuna Carpaccio that was very good, a Lemon Pasta with grilled chicken that was excellent, as well a soprasseta pizza that was great. The chef did a terrific job. No ther parties came in, and the hostess and manager sat looking sullen at a table in the front corner. We thought it odd that they never visited any of the 3 tables to say hello, or maybe see what brought us in... so much for hospitality. Server, as mentioned, was nice, but he clearly had no 'fine dining' experience and was extremely clumsy as he never cleared the table of the third silverware setting, or the unused water glasses. He also brought our dishes before clearing bread plates and our app plates, so it was extremely awkward. He simply needs more training. I was really shocked at their lack of wine selection. No wine menu and only 2 red wines offerered, both Cabs. They do not offer a corkage option, either, which is ridiculous with the limited offerings. I would suggest doing take out, as the food is really good, but as a dine in experience, it's not worth it in my opinion. At least not at this point. read more

Jídla byla předem daná a nebylo možné si nic upravit ani zvolit jinou variantu. Některé chody nám nechutnaly a neměli jsme možnost si objednat něco jiného. Za cenu, kterou jsme zaplatili, bychom očekávali větší flexibilitu a možnost výběru. Celkově nás zážitek zklamal. Atmosféra byla příjemná, ale omezené menu výrazně ovlivnilo náš dojem. The atmosphere is nice, the food is also good, but I would not say the same about the service. You meet someone, invite there and talking to the person and the waiter keeps interrupting every ten minutes in case when you already placed the order and still eating the food. Also when an hour passes they keep staring and approaching waiting for you either to place an order again or to leave. I would like to mention the restaurant was quite empty the 3 times I visited the restaurant. Guys it is not the best service if you want to keep your clients. read more

Wow! This Italian restaurant is amazing! Every single items I ordered are so tasty and delicious! The seats are comfortable especially with the holiday season decorations! Of course the service is friendly just like in Europe! read more

Beautiful decoration and lightings. We were a big group but service was great. They have a great selection of drinks. For appetizers we had squash blossoms with a delicious sauce. We had shrimp ceviche which was absolutely delicious. Pizzas didn't meet my expectations. They were not sliced well either. I was a little disappointed not to see any pasta in an Italian restaurant's lunch menu. They also charged for water. I will give it another chance. This time maybe for dinner. Shrimp scampi or pastas will be probably the next dish I try. read more

Dinner to celebrate early Mother's Day with the girlfriends. We made reservations for 3 but the table they gave us was clearly made for 2 people. It was hard to eat and enjoy our food since we didn't have room to spread out. Other than that the place was cute, I love the decorations and location is set at this alleyway. The food was definitely delicious- highly recommend the bolognese. The servers were all very attentive and friendly. Decently priced and plenty of parking in the lot next door. read more

The interior is very pretty and adds to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I would say that the outside seating, which is where I stayed, was a bit cramped in terms of how close tables were to each other. There was not much room for waiters to pass behind my seat either. Food is decent! The complimentary bread and butter was very good. The calamari was flavorful. I enjoyed the bolognese but was not a huge fan of the meat used. read more
