I had my best friend meet me here on Wednesday- Sept 9 for her 50th birthday lunch. I live in…read moreFlowermound and she lives in Forney so I picked a spot in the middle- mind you I've been here MANY many times over the years but she has not. I made a reservation in advance requesting a booth (since it's a tad quieter) so we could visit and have a nice long lunch having driven so far to meet up and celebrate. We were sat at a table - right next to a very large group and it was so loud we couldn't hear anything we said to each other, I asked the hostess why we were sat at a table and no effort was made to rectify the issue. My husband and I have both made reservations and table requests in the past and have never had an issue. The spot is usually held for us. And the hostess did say she saw my request on the reservation- apparently just ignored it. Then came our server. Bless her for trying but serving at a restaurant is NOT her gifting. She was very very slow to arrive (over ten minutes seated before she showed up) and she immediately got my drink order wrong, when I told her she just stared at me and grabbed my drink and came back with the correct one but a lemon and not the lime I requested. When I asked for my lime - she literally walked back with it IN THE PALM OF HER HAND!!! Three different times she removed food or drinks from our table without asking if we were done with them. She was never apologetic or kind when she made a mistake and really seemed very unaware of the "service" job altogether. My friend and I are overly nice to service people. I still tipped her very well! But the lunch was a disaster from start to finish and NOT the first time experience or birthday lunch I hoped to provide for her. We started with the goat cheese appetizer- it was good as always tho a tad too much garlic. My friend got the chicken melt after asking our server several menu questions and not getting clear answers. And I went with the turkey chili but it was too spicy for me so I took it home. The server asked if I'd like some additional chips to take home with it and never brought them. We have long loved Whiskey Cake and this wasn't a good look at all to have my friend as a returning customer. The server who brought out our appetizers was very lovely- and when she stirred the goat cheese for us and got oil everywhere, including on me, she apologized profusely. Mistakes happen- and her response to it was professional and kind. And THAT is the star I'm giving. She gets the star. The rest would be a very sad zero.

The…read moreespresso martini was exceptional--smooth, velvety, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of espresso and sweetness. It's the kind of cocktail you savor to the last sip. The chicken fried steak with waffles was the standout of the meal. The steak was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Paired with the light, golden waffle, every bite struck the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste, making the dish as beautiful as it was delicious. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting farmhouse ambiance that feels both stylish and comfortable--perfect for a relaxed brunch or a special occasion. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely welcoming, attentive, and made us feel like valued guests from the moment we walked in. They earned a spot on my list of favorite brunch destinations. If you're anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and order the espresso martini and the chicken fried steak with waffles--you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

First off the Chicken Fried Chicken was delicious prepared very well good flavor and very crispy. The gravy had a lot of flavor as well no salt or pepper needed. I order three eggs over medium the yolk could have been a bit more runny. I didn't care for the has because it did not have any potatoes in it. Service was good but did not knock my socks off. The restaurant is decorated very nice and had a good vibe. I ordered a second piece of sourdough toast which tasted great hence the reason for a second piece. The real home made jam made the toast. When the bill came I was charged $4.50 for a single piece of toast. This was a ridiculous amount for a single piece of toast it was more than my iced tea. Really $2.00 for a piece of bread toasted seems like a reasonable price. I just finished breakfast at another breakfast spot up on University. I really can't compare apples to apples except for the addition pice of toast. $1.99 for two slices of toast. Over all meal was priced fair. I just don't think I will be back here due to the prices.

I got the Country Fried Steak and generally enjoyed it. Sausage gravy didn't really taste of sausage but was herby and flavorful. Eggs, hash browns cooked perfectly as requested. Some feedback from my other party members: - The chocolate milk barely tasted of chocolate and was almost $6 (not worth) - cinnamon roll pancakes were good but very very sweet - the smores french toast tasted mostly of chocolate and had Oreos (?) I overall also enjoyed the creative variety of the menu. We would return

We were seated shortly after arriving. However, the table was poorly cleaned and used napkins was on the floor beneath the table seating area. I asked the hostess to have the area cleaned so that my family and I can sit down and enjoy our meal. We ordered corned beef hash skillet with pancakes, south border skillet, biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes. The corned beef hash skillet gets a high mark. The south border skillet was average. The biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes were cold and it gets a low mark. If we decide to eat at Honey Berry in the future, it will be the Frankford Rd location.
