My friends were home from China and craving American breakfast so we had lunch at Barney's. It was a Thursday, to my knowledge we didn't have to wait for a table (they got there before me). Very clean and open and cute/simple inside. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful- however we did go LONG periods of time without being checked on. Lunch took about an hour and a half so it's definitely not a "quick" option. I'd definitely order from here and go pick it up since it's right across from my office. None of us had bad food and it was all cooked exactly the way we asked except for the crispy hash browns I asked for, I guess there's an art to that. read more

We've been to Barney's Brunch House (BBH) twice now. Both times in the past couple of months because our grand niece plays in a soccer league that periodically hosts games in Frisco, at a nearby soccer facility. On both occasions of our visits, we had very positive experiences. In fact, I have only a single complaint which I will disclose at the end of this review. During our first visit to BBH, I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and my wife ordered the Two-Egg Breakfast with Bacon. We both ordered our eggs over-medium and had well-done Hash Browns; she had Sourdough Toast and I had the Biscuits. Our grand niece had Pancakes and her mom, our niece, also had a Two-Egg Breakfast with Bacon. To drink, we had a combination of Coffee, Orange Juice, Hot Chocolate, Water. Our second visit to BBH included our nephew and a second grand niece. That meal featured a Three-Egg Breakfast with Bacon, two orders of Avocado Toast, Eggs Benedict Breakfast, a Two-Egg Breakfast with Bacon, and Pancakes. During both visits, everything arrived to our table timely and fresh. The drinks were perfect and the meals were hot. Feedback from everyone at our table was that all of the food was tasty! We all enjoyed our meals! The Avocado Toast was especially a hit with both, my wife and our nephew raving about it! The noise level in BBH was moderate with the ability to hear whatever was being said at our own table but not so loud that one could hear the conversations at adjacent tables, so in my estimation it was just about right. The restaurant was clean and the restrooms were clean and well stocked. The only complaint I have, is that there is but a single urinal and a single stall in the Men's Room, which in my case created a bit of a crisis during our first visit, I really needed to utilize the stall, but was preempted by an employee who seemed to be taking his time using it. I know... TMI, but it had to be said! In any case, if you're looking for a great breakfast/brunch spot, you've got it in Barney's Brunch House! So, give it a try!! Eat well. Be well. Our second visit and we won't be back. Service was horrendous and the food quality seems to be slipping, but the pancakes are still great! It seems like the kitchen has no coordination of activity. Table of 4, 2 plates arrived at our table from someone not our waiter, one was correct one was not. It took about another 5min and 3rd plate showed up, I told them my order was wrong. He went and got my correct order but left the wrong order on the table. It was another 5min and I had to flag down someone about our missing 4th order (we are now 15min and still missing an order). Finally got the food right then our actual waiter comes by to ask if everything is good! Sorry 100% not with the long wait for average food and horrible service. read more

Finally made it back here after almost 3 years and was sadly very underwhelmed. While the ambiance is welcoming and bright, and the staff is very kind , the food was mediocre. I got the SoCal omelet and my husband got the chicken and cheese omelet. They forgot the blue cheese in mine and chicken was very dry - I left about half of my food . The service is terrific - everyone is always friendly and helpful. Our food has been delicious and always served where the hot food items are hot and chilled are appropriate temperature too. It's such a pretty little place, even on a strip center corner. Take note - Saturday and Sunday are of course popular... so be prepared to wait... but it's worth it. Last time, this November, we went over and put our name on the wait list and went over to a nearby shop for about half an hour and came back to Barney's and waited about 10 mins before our table was ready. This place is an excellent brunch spot in the Frisco area. Great ambiance with modern designs and a very clean and neat seating area. Came in on a Tuesday and there was no wait. Our server was very kind and attentive and offered his perspective on some of the various favorite dishes. The portion sizes are excellent especially for the price point. Two people can easily share a breakfast bowl. The shaved ribeye in the Philly bowl was cooked very tender and was delicious. The biscuits were flaky and buttery. They were a tad bit dry but mixing it with the bowl adds a great component. The cream cheese glaze with the French toast was excellent. Didn't have a great time here. Our visit started off poorly because we hopped on Yelp's waitlist. I use Yelp's waitlist frequently and after I arrive at the restaurant, you're supposed to check in with the host/hostess and your spot on the waitlist will be no lower than #3. However, Barney's Brunch House has an issue with using the Yelp waitlist correctly because when we arrived, even though we were at #3 on the Yelp waitlist, we got placed down lower on the "real" waitlist once we arrived, completely negating my position on the Yelp waitlist. The other issue was that my wife ordered an omelet that included onions but the onions were crunchy in the omelet. We sent it back to get the onions cooked and after a very long wait, it came back with some softer onions but they were black around the edges. Not planning on coming back here. read more

Food: Smoked Salmon Toast - The cream dill sauce was overpowering which made the wheat bread soggy. The salmon tasted store brought, very pungent fish smell. The capers were also low quality. We had to send it back. Pancake Sampler - Oreo was alright, Cinnabomb was alright, and the Lemon Poppyseed pancake was our least favorite. Service: The hosts weren't really welcoming. Our server was nice, but it was so busy that she couldn't really keep up. She tried her best to help us since we didn't like one of our dishes. She asked if we wanted something else, but we couldn't find anything else we wanted on the menu. Our server told us that the manager isn't there to give her the code to comp/void the dish and that she texted her. We waited for a long time until we got our check. Nothing wrong with our server-she was very nice, but wished there was a better system that would make it easier for the server which would also increase service performance. Ambiance: Came after church, so it was very busy on a Sunday afternoon which makes sense. It was also dirty. They didn't buss our table fully-one end still had lots of crumbs and drink spots. Visiting TX for the pinball festival and so we don't know our way around. Found this place on Yelp and thought we would give it a shot. This place did not disappoint! Food was excellent and not expensive. The place was decorated with beautiful chandelier and pretty beaded wall art. I had the meat lover omelet with grits and hash browns which you could tell were made well. Grits were perfectly creamy and the omelet was wonderful. My boyfriend had the pancake sampler. WOW was that good. That one comes with your choice of three kinds of pancakes. He got white chocolate raspberry, the Elvis and a Cinnabomb. Our waiter was also very kind and attentive. My husband and I went to try Barney's for breakfast/brunch around 12. We got in and sat down without a wait. I got the breakfast bowl and pancakes as my side and it was very good. After we got our food the waitress didn't come over until we were almost done. I needed napkins and basically got up and got them myself. There is always a long wait here on the weekends, so try to come early. There is a Tom Thumb close by so you can work up an appetite by walking around before getting called in for your table. The seating is pretty tight, so not sure if it would be stroller friendly. I ordered the gravy omelet and the blueberry pancakes and both were delicious! Full of flavor and decadent. I could only finish half of each dish and ended up taking the rest to go. So in today's economy $40 for brunch is not bad and that is why I am giving them a three star. Otherwise the food was not fresh, the service was abysmal and the decor was very 2013.
