This is a long tome coming review. There's not enough good things I can say about this company. I was having troubles with my drains and then my tub. I called a company that you see there trucks all over Belleville. They came out and said immediately that I needed a clean out thing and that it would start out at a couple of thousand dollars. First, they need to run a camera, which he claimed, wasn't working because of my pipes. So he gave me an idea of cost and sent me a quote. I just had a gut feeling he was trying to rip me off and I wanted a second opinion. I called the Belleville Plumbing Supply store and asked the guy about local Plumbers. He gave me a few names, I called the first one and he was too busy so he recommended C & L Backhoe Service. That was a huge blessing. These guys worked so hard, they found 2 old septic tanks in my yard, 1 in the front and 1 in the back. The put in all new pipes with 4 clean outs. My plumping system was screwed up when they built my house . . . I was sick thinking I was going to have take out a 2nd mortgage just to fix my plumping. But they were BEYOND fair in price and did a WONDERFUL job. It's been over a year and I am so happy. My tub drains like a dream, toilets flush great, my washer never backs up. They treated me with respect, explained and showed me everything that needed to fix. I even asked for extra business cards so I could post them on my jobs bulletin board. Three things I hate to do. . lend money, give advice or recommend a company or product. But I would in a heart beat recommend and have recommended C & L Backhoe Service. Twice I have needed their help, and twice I have had an awesome service experience with C&L Backhoe. Approximately two years ago, the watermain broke at the entrance point into my house due to deficient initial installation at the time the home was built. The owner of C&L Backhoe was able to dig to expose the line and perform the repair in a very tight space without any damage to the building. The line was repaired and backfilled without leaving a mess. An impeccable job. When more recently I was faced with not passing a county inspection for my septic in order to sell my house, the owner of C&L Backhoe went out of his way to contact the county health department inspector and then came out with the inspector to personally examine the system and to discuss the situation with the inspector. With C&L Backhoe's owner's vast professional experience, he was able to show the septic was fully functional, met all of the county requirements for flow of the effluent on the property, and was sized adequately for the house. The county inspector accepted that and passed my system saving me much potential expense. C&L Backhoe on the spot then proceeded to dig out the drainage line outflow and vent capped it, because it had been damaged. I give them my highest recommendation. read more

Recently bought a house in Belleville, and after being there for a couple of months the sewer line started backing up. The home warranty company sent out someone who tried several times to get it running, charged me extra for a camera inspection, and decided that I needed to dig up the line all the way into the street. Price tag: $15k. Time for a second opinion. Someone suggested I call C&L Backhoe, and that was my lucky day. These guys are the real deal--they know their business, they shoot straight, and they do the job right the first time. They showed up on time, had pro-level equipment on their truck, and went straight to work. They had my sewer line cleared out all the way to the main line in the street in a little over an hour with no digging!. Super friendly folks (Jeff, and his son Luke) who are real professionals. These are the kind of guys who give contractors a GOOD name. Oh, what did they charge? Forget $15k, it came in for under $300. This family owned business is amazing. I had a water-line break under my home over Labor Day weekend. Being without water can be tough especially as a family with young children. C & L returned my call quickly and was out to my home within the hour. Was able to get to the bottom of the issue was back the next morning working diligently in my yard for over 8 hours. They were extremely professional the entire time and was providing me updates throughout the day. They were able to fix our problem and my family and I cant thank them enough. My sewer has backed up in my basement 3 times in the last year. I've had 2 other companies tell me that my line in my yard needs replaced but never had just reason as to what was causing my problem. Quick service, had a crushed lateral sewer tie in to the city's line and they came out and fixed within 24 hours of paying for our city permit. Nice and informative. Jeff and Luke are very knowledgeable, know what they are doing and took the time to make sure we understood what was going on and what they had to do to fix the problem. We've had a problem with our parking lot not draining properly for the past few months. Within a couple of hours of talking with Jeff at C&L, the problem was resolved and he was able to explain what was happening in case it floods again. AND the charge was very reasonable. I called for service and they were here within an hour! They found an outdoor clean out access that other service companies had never found in the 8 years I've lived in my home and they repaired it on the same visit! Very respectful and kind and definitely did a great job to get things running again at the most reasonable cost. Would recommend 10 out of 10 and would always use again! read more

It was a Saturday and I heard a gurgling noise. My sewer was backing up into my house. I contacted C & L and they came to my rescue in about an hour. They were very courteous and conscientious. They installed a new trap and cleaned out my drains. They made sure everything was working properly before they left. They saved my weekend. I highly recommend them! read more
