He ordered a new part and returned a couple a days later with the new drain pump. He was polite, professional and friendly. Interestingly, after he left the washer was still not working properly. He returned immediately and addressed a minor problem and the washer worked. Nico even followed up later that afternoon to double check the washer was working properly. The repair was moderately priced and I will call again to have my dryer vacuumed and cleaned.

He came to my tenant's condo in Gardena and stated my almost brand new dishwasher will cost $350 parts & labor to replace the drain pump parts and labor after a 5 minute evaluation. (They did not know the dishwasher was almost brand new) They called to get my authorization to pay, and I declined to have the work done. They stated I need to pay the $69 visit fee only. Later I get a call from Kate, the dispatcher, stating I now need to pay $199 for cleaning fee. However, I stated I never authorized any additional services. They fixed the problem within 15 minutes for the total visit. There were small pieces of plastic there that needed to be cleaned out and the dishwasher is working fine. I guess I didn't need the drain pump to be replaced for $350 after all. When I called to complain, they agreed to take the additional cleaning fee and charge the visit fee only. They subsequently called to apologize and waive my visit fee of $69.

They upped their per service cost to $100 and don't cover many things that break, like the water pressure regulator - that if left unchecked will likely break our water-based appliances and cause leaks - which they would then fix, but not address the valve. Two thumbs down.

I contacted your company after Smartchoice's initial visit failed to resolve my AC issue, expecting…read moresupport from my coverage. I called, left voicemails, and waited for a response that never came. Your company was completely absent throughout this crisis. While Smartchoice at least showed up (eventually), your organization provided zero follow-up, zero communication, and zero assistance when my family was enduring 90-degree heat with a 3-year-old in the home. I had no idea whether my claim was even being processed, whether escalation was possible, or what my actual coverage options were. You simply disappeared. When you're selling HVAC protection plans, the implicit promise is that you'll be there when something breaks. You weren't. You didn't call me back, didn't respond to messages, and left me to navigate a failed service appointment and multi-day wait times alone. For an insurance provider, non-responsiveness during an active claim is a fundamental failure. You collected premiums for coverage you didn't provide support for when it mattered most.
