I walked in today and was greeted right away by Tony, so nice! I was helped in less than 10 minutes, quicker than a lot of places but it was also a Monday. :) I'm a bit picky sometimes but I love how my nails turned out! Also they really do clean up your nails and make sure they look good. That was another amazing thing about this visit because a lot of other places don't. Thanks, will come again. Very affordable for great quality. Details: pink glitter & white ombre + gel for $35 without tip!

I got my nails done on a Wednesday and by that Friday they had started to chip. That following Monday I returned to get them redone with a new color (assuming the first color would've chipped again since the guy who did them applied four coats to make it the color it was displayed as) and was charged for it. Although I was super annoyed, I wasn't about to argue over $14. And within hours later the color chipped again. It's obviously a waste of time to return again to get them fixed AGAIN, so I won't be returning.

Saw my coworker had a really pretty gel manicure so when i asked her where she got it done she recommended this place and told me to ask for Nina. Made myself an appointment for the same day and I must say I came at a great time. The place was empty and Nina took her time and did my nails exactly how I requested. She is super sweet and friendly and did not charge a crazy amount. I'm so happy with the end result and looking forward to my next visit!

So I'm disappointed with the extreme lack of quality. I came In for a fill and ended up getting a new set. They completely destroyed my cuticles in addition to all the HIDDEN FEES. Shaping $3+, length $5+. This in my opinion was a complete waste of money. I've had this set for about 3 days and 2 nails FELL OFF. Would definitely not recommend this establishment

Their gel manicure is the cheapest I've encountered in a while ($25), but I understand why -- both times the gel started peeling and chipping within ONE week. Typically with other salons it lasts up to three weeks. And the first time I thought it was maybe because of the color I chose, so I gave them another shot, but the second time it was a completely different color and sadly, the same thing happened. read more

This one s now my go to nail spot here in Montebello. It's located in a small shopping mall right next door to the fire station. It's a husband & wife business that can be easy to overlook but both Tony & Nancy are great. Gentle, thorough and skilled technicians they definitely deserve more people give them a try. read more

I love supporting smaller shops because my family members all work for small shops up in NorCal. That being said, this place is super unassuming and I like it a lot! The staff is really nice and even if they don't talk to you a lot you know they're taking care of you. No spa chairs only the portable spa machines! I only pay $14 after tip for a simple pedicure so I'm not complaining. Some places are around $25 before tip for a pedicure. I haven't had a bad experience with this shop and I hope I never do because I want to keep coming back here and supporting them. Note: They only take tips in cash! read more

(Expirience based on Acrylic and Gel polish) Lately my acrylic nails lift in under 2 weeks! The last two times I got my nails done by Tony I've experienced this. Not sure if it's the quality of the primer or acrylic liquid the issue here, but I wasn't getting my money's worth. I also expirienced lifting when I got Gel polish on my natural nails. I wanted to test my theory and went elsewhere. Three weeks after getting acrylics elsewhere they have not lifted... read more

I've come here a few times for manicures, pedicures, acrylics and they've always done a great job. They take their time and really do a great job with cleaning up my nails and removing some rough skin on my heels. And most of the other places I've tried acrylics lift/come off quickly, versus here they stayed on despite what I did! read more

I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt because of some of the shitty reviews, so I went this past Tuesday and I'm sad to say I have to leave a bad review. First off Tony would stop to do my nails anytime his phone would go off, I'd say about maybe 6 times in what was a span of 10 minutes. It took him almost 2 hours to do my nails, my nails aren't even, one is thicker than the other, and the gel sucks so bad it's already chipping off!! HASNT EVEN BEEN A WEEK YET Idk I guess you get what you pay for :/ read more

My first time going here today and after going to many places in Montebello and elsewhere I have to say I like this place the BEST! Tony did my nails and he took his time wasn't in a rush and he did a great job on my nails. I am definitely going to make this my nail place to go to from now on. Went here on a whim, I've lived in montebello for 9 years and hadn't even seen seen place. I read reviews and Tony is such a perfectionist I loved it. Got a refill on my acrylics and gel polish, the place is a bit hidden on the left side of the Fire Department. If you're in the area and need to find a good place this is it! read more

My nails 3 weeks after getting them done. I've gone all over Montebello to find a spot that could do nails that were tougher than me.... Mind you I'm very active person. I hike, go to the gym, do yoga, clean my house (I'm constantly doing dishes) and these nails have stayed no problem! This isn't even gel and the paint stil looks good! I walked in and waited only like 5 to 10 min which a great!!! Tony was very friendly. The reason why I'm giving a 3 Stars is because the nail polish didn't cover the whole nail, and the acrylic either. After he painted my nails with gel color, he filed the corner of the nail polish because it wasn't even...so he painted the nail again on top of the other color and it left a bumpy thick nail.... I also requested square shape, which they were really really sharpie. Definitely not coming back. read more

Decided to pamper my mom and myself by getting our nails done. It was a last minute decision and we were having so much trouble finding a place that had available appointments. Luckily we found this place. I decided to get an acrylic full set while my mom got a regular manicure. When we first got to CT nails there was hardly anyone there however, in the middle of getting my nails done it's started to get busy. Honestly I was pretty concerned because I thought he was going to rush my nails to tend to other people. However that was not the case, he took his time and did a very good job in my opinion. For my full set with crystals and my moms manicure it came out to $31 without tip! Couldn't be happier read more

My first time here new location by where I live and it wasn't the best. I honestly felt like he was rushing towards the end and i had to tell him to fix the nail polish stains he left on 5 of my fingers!!!!!! he was already "finished" and thought it was OKAY no it looked MESSY! I wasn't leaving with messed up nails but i guess you get what you pay for right! I got a full set / acrylics and the pedi was nice they use a very old school way to do your pedi..lol read more

Today was my first time visiting this nail salon. Thankfully, it was not full and I was seen right away. I got a pedicure and a full set with gel. The attention to detail from the technicians is amazing. They took their time and made sure that it was a job well done. They are also very nice and welcome you with smiles. I felt very comfortable here. They are funny and make good conversation with you too. This is my new place. The prices are so affordable and the work is top notch. read more

I can't even begin to describe how happy I am with my nails. Tony did such a great job. I needed a shop close to home and I have finally found it. I asked for coffin nails and they are simply divine. I was attended too and taken care of not like all the other nail shops in the area. Price is very reasonable. everyone is very friendly and so nice. No one is talking about you like at that other place next to baskin robbins. This place is simply the best. They have awesome recliners where you can comfortably wait for your turn. All the patrons are all so friendly as well and don't make you feel uncomfortable. The nail techs are not trying to tell you what is best for you. Whatever you ask for is their command. I have definitely found my new nail spot in Montebello. No more long drives to Los Angeles. Tony is my hero! read more

I really enjoyed my visit to this nail shop. I was debating whether or not to get a manicure and pedicure done. So this trip was a walk-in. The shop was quiet, neat, and I was greeted immediately and asked for the services that I desired. The nail technicians were both VERY thorough on both my hands and feet. They were also very nice and pleasant to work with. The prices were very reasonable and I was offered the gel nail option. They accept cash and credit card so that was very convenient. I don't live in this local area but when I am, I will come back to this shop. I would recommend others here. read more

Overall the service has gotten acceptionally better, new staff, new services, and they're sooo sweet always with my kiddo! The prices are a bit high tbh I end up paying at least almost 200 plus when I go for gel x and a pedicure which i can understand and don't mind but so that others know what to expect, on the affordability side out of 10 I'd say abt a 5

I was truly happy with the fun experience at the salon! Inside: Loved the decor from the start! It's a very pretty & clean nail salon with an uplifting vibe! I also loved the glamorous vibe! The plush, tall, majestic, white chairs gave Princess/Queen vibes, which was a fun plus! The cozy pillows had me too cozy, as I briefly fell asleep off and on! Haha! Overall: Absolutely yes, I will return for a manicure & pedicure, as Five Star Nails is exactly as the name states! Score!! I truly love the warm energy that radiates from the salon! Enter Briana! I found her on here, went to her instagram, checked out her photos, and booked an appointment pretty much immediately. Her suite being in montebello and only a 10 minute drive from me was also a huge plus. So I went on 4/26 (Sunday) at 10am. Location has plenty of parking since it is in a big shopping center. Upon entering I realized there were other services at this address (brows and hair). Anyway, Briana arrived promptly and we got started! Since it was my first time I was super curious and asking a bunch of questions and Briana was very kind and answered them all for me. She was super friendly and professional and we had a great conversation going throughout my appointment. Speaking of appointment, let me share what I had done! I ended up going with a gel manicure and pedicure. I was unsure about what color to choose so Briana helped me decide based on the dress I will be wearing for a wedding I will be attending (in Hawaii). She then asked if I was getting a pedicure again I was shocked as I had just payed $25 +tip for a pedicure 2 days prior. At this point I didn't no longer want a fill just my acrylics taken off. The owner then says "better go where you got full set " I was so disappointed on how rude she was. As a new mom my time is precious and tight and wanted to treat my self and get pampered as I had a babysitter today. She proceeded saying $15 nail take off for one hand. She was messy and inexperienced my clothes was full of polish and so were my sandals. I complained about this and she says " it's your nail polish" My experience at good nails was horrible and very disappointing. Will NOT be coming here again.

I went in to get my nails done I was waiting for someone to be available and then some customer comes in and instead of them taking me in I was waiting for a while they take that customer before me that is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
