Been coming here for years and it just doesn't feel the same anymore. A lot of the staff that made this place what it was are suddenly gone, and you can definitely feel it. It used to be super welcoming and familiar -- now it just feels kind of off. From what I've heard, the new management isn't very upfront with people, which might explain why so many long-time employees have disappeared. Even people with deep roots here don't seem to be sticking around, which is pretty telling. Not trying to stir anything up, just honestly disappointed. Honestly I was excited to see all you can eat words on menu. So I asked what fishes I can have. The server told me only Pollack! Glad I didn't order it. Instead of that, I had 1 pc of cod fish a d chips and seafood chowder. Cod was medicore. Coleslaw was thick and long cut. Interesting. Chowder was perfect for cold rainy day. I had a craving for fish and chips! This place can definitely satisfy your cravings! I like how crispy their fish is, the batter is pretty good and the pieces are reasonably sized! The chips/fries could use more seasoning like salt and I like to add vinegar. Also tartar sauce and ketchup bottles on the side for us to use freely was nice. With the all you can eat fish and chips deal it's $16.99 per person and comes with bottomless pop. I got root beer to drink and it's quite sweet, I got accustomed to the sweetness of it and actually liked it a lot more by the end, also the staff is so accommodating with refills, they just gave us pitcher on the side and made sure there was always pop! During my recent visit to C-Lovers near Coquitlam Center, I had a very disappointing experience. Here are the reasons why I wouldn't recommend this restaurant: Upon entering, I noticed a rather large sign that stated 2 or less to sit at tiny tables. This type of behavior from a restaurant was new to me. It seems they had only 3 people in the restaurant when I visited but are enforcing this rule. When I ordered their fish, it was mostly batter with barely any fish and small pieces. This was very disappointing and unexpected. They only had one waitress who didn't seem to want to be there. This made the service slow and unenjoyable. It seems they have high prices for halibut compared to their competitors. They charge over 30 dollars for 2 pieces that are only 4 oz, whereas the competition charges 25 for 6 oz pieces. Based on my experience, I wouldn't go back to C-Lovers near Coquitlam Center and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for quality seafood and good service read more

Let me start with the service was excellent and my order arrived relatively quickly. Not to the negative. I've been here before and loved but on this day, not so much. I was hungry and thought I'd try a few things. I got a 2 piece halibut and chips, gravy, 3 dill pickle spears (because why not) and an iced tea. The total came to $44. The fish portions were small and mostly batter. The fries were a small portion in the middle of the plate that while crispy on the outside were undercooked on the inside. The gravy while hot, didn't have much taste and was separating and congealing at the same time. The iced tea was cold but I made the mistake of going "bottomless" for an extra $2. They do have an all you can eat with bottomless pop for $20 which looks like the best deal. I was just thinking of going back to try it until the table in front of me ordered more fish and they got what looking like 2 small chicken finger sized pieces of fish. This sadly feels like another company doing what they can to stay afloat but hurting themselves in the process. read more

Went here for the all you can eat fish + chips for lunch. Got there just about noon and there was plenty of open tables, nice looking clean restaurant. We both had the Fish + Chips plus a sleeve of beer for $17.95 The food came quickly as we devoured our plates the server asked if we wanted more, we both said yes and another plate of fish and chips arrived for each of us. as we were finishing up, the restaurant became full. Went to this establishment over 20 years ago. Consistently went here on the days that had All you can eat. The fish pieces were bigger back then. And the waitresses were young pretty college girls. Was here last week. Usually went to the Burquitlam location but they closed down. They gave good sized pieces there. Ordered the AYCE. They give small pieces roughly the same size of a sharpie pen that has been battered up. Very good chips though. Crispy on the outside soft potato inside.When I ordered 3 more fish they were a bit bigger. & three more after that. Washed it down with pop. This location has large windows where you can watch the traffic on Pinetree. Will go to the North Van or Surrey location next time. Or perhaps I can give cockney kings another chance. read more

A convenient location with bus stops and skytrain station at walking distance, and a parking lot right outside. Decent portion and reasonable prices. They have quite a few options for the menu. They offer all-you-can-eat and it's all day, everyday, but you can't choose what kind of fish. I don't really mind that I couldn't choose and the fries were fresh and good. The fish is not bad but could be fresher and not the best fish & chips I've had. Good for hangovers and when you crave fish & chips and don't want to travel. The sauce is good but tend to be heavier compared to without the sauce, depending on how much you eat. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. She made us free very welcomed and comfortable. C-lovers is not the best but it is still very good, however I would only recommend it on the all you can eat days because the prices of the regular meals are getting a little bit too high. Got take out Cod & Chips (2pcs) and Popcorn Shrimp. Fish & chips were wrapped up in paper/newspaper and was still warm once we got home. Opened up the packaging and found 2.5 pieces of fish. I have been here twice in the past 8-months. The first time, I ordered the 2-piece Halibut dinner and the pieces of fish were fairly small. The table beside us was served these nice LARGE pieces of fish, so I thought perhaps I should have ordered the cod. Today I visited again and decided to get the "All you can eat" fish and chips. I specifically asked the waitress for larger pieces of fish. My order came and received chicken strip sized pieces of fish. Most likely they do this so that you eat more batter and get filled up quicker. I have gone to C-Lovers since it first opened in 1984, and one thing I can say is it has always been consistent. The restaurant it's self is always clean & tidy. And although it is a bit on the pricey side if you start adding things on. like their great authentic mushy peas or Battered Mushrooms. It is well worth every penny. and you leave with a full belly. The chips are quite good and the fish is large pieces but heavy on the batter. If you eat inside they do have a great toddler special that's one small piece of fish and chips, great for kids who are to young to eat off a kids menu, this is definitely something unique that should be available at other family type restaurants. Visited the restaurant for a sit down meal. Ordered a take-out for my brother. I am disappointed that there was no tartar sauce or ketchup in the bag. I was especially disappointed that I wasn't asked. When I go to Salty's Fish and Chips for take-out, they always ask if I need condiments. I think that the fish and chips were good but the take-out service could be better. My brother was disappointed opening his dinner at work with no condiments. Lesson: if you order take-out at C-Lovers I guess the responsibility is on the customer to remember to ask for condiments. That's not good service. So don't forget. read more
