Had a delicious dinner there recently. Small cafe with limited seating. Think twice before going if it's too hot outside.

Sorry to report, very slow service, it took half an hour to get our breakfast, with only a few other customers in the restaurant. Also the Bacon was over cooked and cold. Sausage taste like it was microwaved. And come on who plays reggae music in a bistro. Never again read more

Stopped here with my three daughters for while exploring Jacksonville. I had looked it up on yelp and a store owner agreed that I should try it. He said even simple stuff is done well. He was right. We had a BLT and pulled pork sandwich. Terrific! read more

As working parents of young children, we're not the most experienced fine diners, but this place is around the corner from us and we've heard only good things. We went on a Friday night for the prix fixe dinner, and we had a really good experience. The chefs were accessible and never pretentious, but the food was unapologetically classy. It's a small place and we felt like our visit mattered to them. The lamb tartare (we had to ask what tartare is) was delicious--mild and perfect, on crostini with a mint-basil paste. New York steak with ratatouille and a truly top-shelf cheesecake. We had a wonderful meal and a great experience. read more

My wife and I had lunch at C-Street Bistro this week on a one day visit to Jacksonville. We chose C-Street based on Yelper's recommendations, as with almost all our restaurant selections. I Regret to say this one was a disappointment. My selection was the smoked salmon sandwich with the side of mixed green. The sandwich bread was cold and hardened toast, extremely unappetizing. Moreover the smoked salmon filling was very thin, barely taste-able. The side of green was the only good thing about this meal. The price of $14, by any measure and comparison was far too much. My wife chose poached eggs and bacon. Her meal was better than mine, but nothing special at all, especially when you consider the price of $13. It is not likely that we will visit Jacksonville again, but I just wanted to bring an objective balance to all these 5-star ratings (that I can't believe to be possibly objective) in order for other visitors that may want to eat at C-Street Bistro read more

Delish lunch for our two families. Creative and thoughtful compositions of locally sourced ingredients. Truly a delight. Super small venue - so welcoming that you really couldn't distinguish treasured regulars from first time guests. A true "must" for visitors to the greater ashland area. read more

These are absolutely the best burgers in the Rogue Valley, possibly the best we've had anywhere. The flavor is simply perfect. The fingerling potatoes are amazing too. The chef just really knows how to make flavors work. So sad that the food is not organic, we would love to eat here all the time.... read more

The food is good but the portions are on the small side, the chairs are uncomfortable and it gets really hot in there! We will probably grab a burger and sit outside next time if the weather allows. read more

We went there for breakfast on a Tue morning. They were just opening up at 9:30 AM. The food was exceptional as was the service. The menu is limited but it is a specialty bistro so this was to be expected. So tasty! read more

I have the bad luck to work across the street from the Bistro - lovely food scents waft my way all the time, and the pleasant sounds of happy people getting into their cars make me want to take a break constantly! I wish I could eat there more often...but as it is, I have had the immense pleasure of getting to know my neighbor Paul (owner and head chef) and some of his fabulous menu. The burgers are the best we've ever had, and we hear many others say the same all the time - in fact, Paul has a count of the times he's heard that...well over 100 by now. Tasty, locally raised, freshly ground beef for each order, they are the most tender, juicy, awesome burgers ever! We've observed other patrons savoring every bite of theirs as if it were the last thing they would ever eat. His ingredients are locally sourced and mostly organic, yet the prices are not over the top. The home made ketchup, and likewise the tomato soup, is incredible. Having a thing for wild mushrooms, I like the mushroom panini (get it with the truffle aioli, it's fabulous!) and the Forager burger, both of which feature a mix of locally gathered mushrooms from chanterelles to morelles and Gruyere cheese. My husband, a Bleu cheese lover, always gets the Boucherie 3, which features bleus from the famous Rogue Creamery. I've also had the pulled pork - killer! He's very knowledgable about wines - both local southern Oregon wines and others, so it's easy to find something that will pair with your food beautifully. Oh, and don't forget to have a bite of one of the lovely home baked mini cheesecakes for dessert! Gourmet flavors and healthy ingredients with portions that are satisfying, but won't put you to sleep on your way home, in an unpretentious and friendly atmosphere - what more can you ask? It's hard to experiment with other items when you love the ones you've had so much, but you know, I work across the street, so I'll be trying more...and I hope you will too! read more

I have a black belt in barbecue; I have eaten rak orret in the mountains of Norway, rotten turtle eggs on a South Pacific isle, rat-shit chili peppers in Burma, and taken a bite straight from the flank of a live skipjack tuna. Beautiful location with outdoor seating ! We loved the Brussels sprout appetizer that they created for us. It was everything we had hoped for ! The Caesar salads were perfectly dressed and the dressing was a solid and good caesar dressing . The risotto was well cooked , but flavors were imbalanced. There was a slightly bitter taste to it. The portion was small and not very filling. Prices were moderate to high. That's what makes the service disappointing. There was only one waiter who is also the owner. He was really busy and distracted. Forgot to bring us water ( brought it after a while. ) We had to get up, try to find him and to ask for wine since he over looked our empty wine glasses when he served us dinner and never asked if we wanted anything. He was a bit kirt and not a great server. There was no bussers or other supports to help him. Plus no dessert. The food is good, but could work on over all experience. read more

Just go. Creative menu, knowledgeable waitstaff, doesn't get much better than this. You'll love the fried provolone sandwich with capers.

Very cute bistro with limited seating so it pays to get here either early or late. This is a labor of love and it shows in the unassuming establishment and the food. This place is great. We were in town for 24 hours but this place was so good that we came in twice. The first time around was for lunch. They have just the best grilled cheese/tomato soup combo. That sounds like something you could never screw up and yet oddly most places fail to make a good one! Also had a turkey sandwich which was pretty good. For dinner we had a burger and the spaghetti dish. The spaghetti was something along the lines of a spicy pasta carbonara. I'm not exactly sure what it was but it had prosciutto, parmesan, loads of garlic, chili flakes, and just the most amazing sauce. I wish I could eat this everyday but sadly I doubt i'll ever be passing through jacksonville again. This is a small restaurant, maybe you could describe it as quaint and there is something really nice in knowing that a small town like this can have such great food :) read more

A fabulous shrimp sandwich on the softest roll ever, served with a caesar salad - SO yummy! My friend had a fabulous hamburger, juicy and delicious. We ate outside on their lovely deck, it was a beautiful day and meal. If we ever get back to Jacksonville, this restaurant will be one of our first stops. read more

I guess we can explain away the flies because it was summer and we ate outdoors. But our meals were utterly mediocre, taste-wise and presentation wise. The roquefort salad I had combined two overpowering flavors, and the roasted chicken my husband had arrived swimming in a syrupy red bath. The diners at the tables around us all appeared to know each other and the owner and our server, so there was a good bit of jovial glad-handing and cross-talk that we heard and waited out, but didn't participate in. I'd been to C Steet Bistro before, with a friend, and didn't like being addressed as "you girls." All told, we're not going back. read more
