The Cabby Shack is a nice scenic restaurant located near the water. The views are nice and make it worth the trip. I've been here before but never wrote a review. The service is good given the fact the place gets super busy and the servers are on top of their game! They always seem to be pleasant and friendly in a chaotic environment! The food is fresh and good. But I feel like they have gone smaller on the portion sizes. I got a Captain's platter and it seemed a little small. It was filled with more fries and onions rings than actual seafood. The lobster roll was on point and filled with a lot of meat! We went with the larger sized roll and it was worth it. The drinks are always good. I would recommend taking the trip down and giving them a try! Also, they usually have a band playing which livens up the place. read more

We've tried. Year after year each summer and are usually disappointed. This most recent visit will be our last. While the service is ok and the ambiance is wonderful, the food is less than mediocre but priced as if it's a high end restaurant. $17 for microwaved store bought mozzarella balls, $20 for a tiny, cold bland steak and cheese. A family of 5 will easily drop $120 for a very, very disappointing meal. :( read more

Fisherman's platter was fresh and fried to perfection, steamers seemed bottomless and again fresh and tasty. Lobster roll was typical, unfortunately nothing special. Beer selection was excellent! It's was a hot Sunday afternoon so the place was jammin, but our quotes wait time was spot on. The negatives, jammin or not waitress failed. No check backs, no water refills, poor service. This place could use some help with their Customer Service. We were seated on a Thursday evening around 5pm and waited over 10 minutes and nobody came over to even ask us what we wanted to drink. The manager passed through the dining room and did not come over to see if she could help us. We got up and left. I thought maybe they were short staffed but many young folks were standing around like they could have cared less about having a job. Actually, my son is graduating high school and his school goes on a senior trip to Plymouth and Boston and the wife and I are tagging along. This is my wife's favorite restaurant in Plymouth and loves the clam bake (clam chowder pizza). I decided to keep it more traditional tonight and asked for a pizza with hot honey. I was excited for the zing of the hot honey, but they forgot to put it on there and when I asked the waitress about it her manager said too bad we are still charging you. I was chill and still ate the pizza and it was okay, but definitely seemed plain without that zing. They tried to give me a bag of chips as a consolation prize but still charged me for the phantom hot honey. Hard to rate higher than a 3/5 based on that faux pas. read more

This place is so fun!! Artificial palm trees around it and a tiki bar. There are surfboard tables, two bars (one outside, one inside), live entertainment, multiple TV's where you can watch sports. We happened to go when USA was playing soccer. It got pretty crowded. You can put your name in for a table but if that's not for you, you can walk right in and grab a bar seat. We had a few buckets of Tropical Voo Doo juice. I recommend the bucket. It's 32oz. For $21.50. If you just got the regular drink, it's $13.99. We split it. Packs a little punch. Delicious! I didn't take any pictures. Just of the cocktail menu. We ordered a fisherman's platter to split. The scallops were huge and delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The clams were big bellies. The fish was so fresh with a nice batter. It also had fries and onion rings. Yummy! Grabbed some lunch while at the Waterfront Festival. Took advantage of the beautiful day and sat on the roof deck overlooking the Plymouth Harbor. Our wait was short and our server was excellent. We grabbed some Frozen Frappaccinos (1 non alcoholic which they made no issues) and they were awesome. We went with the Sticky Wings for an appetizer (which were the daily special) and they were phenomenal. We both ordered the Fesh Catch Sandwich: Blackened Mahi and it was great. If I could rate CabbyShack a zero I honestly would. We hosted our wedding after party here and it almost ruined the night. The bouncers were incredibly disrespectful and combative to a number of guests including the groom and his family, the bartenders had a horrible and surly attitude, and the waitresses that were tasked to handling our group were never to be seen and were rude in the few interactions we had with them. In addition, we ordered a large amount of food and were promised that it would out upon our arrival and it was 45 minutes late. They also kicked everyone out at 12.30 AM, despite the bar closing at one. The only thing this place has going for it is the location, otherwise just stay away if you can. read more

please do not order salads from this place . I rarely call and complaint but I did got this situation. This house salad was over 2O dollars. I spoke with the manager and also showed her the picture only to have her call back and basically say it was fine. She quoted how ever many ounces of tomatoe and chopped cucumbers they put in and said it it the way they always serve them. My friends and I stopped by CabbyShack before the 4th of July fireworks. It was super busy and the vibes were great. Somehow we were able to find a few seats at the bar. I love the location, right near the waterfront, and you can even see the views at a distance from the bar. I would recommend coming here for the drinks, but not necessarily the food. The bartenders were great and got the drinks out quickly, even with the big crowds. I'd love to come back another time when they have some live music! read more

I had an appointment in Plymouth that finished a little earlier than I had planned and decided to use the extra time to sample some of the area's exclusive cuisine. A quick Google search brought me to CabbyShack, a "casual waterfront spot famed for chowder, pizza & lobster plus a roof deck & live music some nights." After I paid to park, three bucks for 90 minutes, I made my way through the front doors to be greeted by an oceanside version of "Cheers" with an updated splash of Saved by the Bell's "The Max". Bright colors and unique decor, plenty of seating both inside and out, a bar lined with stools, and the "just right" amount of lighting gave the impression that a patron could have just as much of a good time dining with a group of friends as they could having a few drinks at the bar. A young woman with a welcoming smile advised me to pick anywhere to sit, inside or out, and let me know a "server will be with you shortly". It was a little chilly out, right under 60°, so my wife and I opted for a tall table with a window view of the ocean. Seconds later a man of pure hospitality and class appeared at our table to take our drink orders and offer us menus. With so many delectable options to choose from I decided to let my wife pick my plate and once again, she nailed it. Although I was kind of hoping she'd opt for one of the signature pizzas (The Dexta looked especially mouth watering) I was not disappointed in her choice. When the waiter arrived a few minutes after placing our order I was presented with The Captain's Plate; "A hearty platter of fresh fish, whole belly clams, sea scallops, shrimp, onion rings, french fries & coleslaw". A deep fried ensemble of some of New England's signature seafood fare. The closer I get to 40 the more I realize that deep fried foods aren't as easy to recover from as they were in my 20s, but that didn't stop me from devouring almost all of the main course. More than enough food to fill up two or four people, each individual element was frizzled to an immaculate state of dining bliss. Crunchy batter enveloped juicy, fresh, tender chunks of meat and vegetables. The onion rings had a homemade batter that rivaled any I'd had before. The French fries evoked potato clouds wrapped in a crisp, golden shell. The fish, the shrimp, the scallops, the clams...all tasted like they had been caught that very morning right before sunrise. Sure, if I'd had known what awaited me I would have opted for a steamed or boiled option, I've gotta watch my cholesterol at this age, however, I was anything but disappointed in her decision. Our glasses stayed full, our server was attentive, the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, and the price was on point for the amount of food and the quality of service we received. May not be a regular stop, it's an hour from home, but definitely worth revisiting when we return to the area. My only complaint is with myself, I should've bought the hand-carved, monkey head, coconut cup for the ultimate reminder of a spectacular New England feasting experience. read more

You come for the food and get assaulted by the noise level. I don't mind music, but since the place is loud enough without it, the volume needs to be lower. It's definitely become a dive bar. I used to love coming here, the food was good and within budget. But recently it's gone way down hill. Service was very SLOW. Took over hour 30 to have dinner and 1 drink. We got a dirty paper menu, options definitely changed since last time I was here with less options. Prices range from $15-30, most being closer to $30. Our table was outside and it was dusty. Cocktails average $15, and were very average, not strong or flavorful. Chowder was tasty, but seemed to be thickened with flower or starch. Absolutely wonderful experience. Went the Thursday before Labor Day weekend so it was rather busy but we were seated right away on the rooftop deck. Wait staff accommodated us with a sleeping toddler; they were respectful and helpful. The beer & cocktail selection was excellent but of course their famous clam chowder doesn't have words to describe its deliciousness (is that even a word??). They are one of the few restaurants in the area that had steamers on the menu which were the best I've ever had. The best part was the steamed lobster special. As a lobster-lover, the lobster was tender and sweet. But the price was so affordable; under $30 with two sides. It was so good. Great experience. read more

Cabby Shack has a fun beach vibe, even in December. The Speakeasies were playing and the place was hoppin. The Speakeasies brought their unique take on covers of blues, soul, and other musical genres. Our amazing server took our order, got it promptly, took care of special requests, and checked in often to see if we needed anything. Although it was busy, she was friendly, and looked like she enjoyed her job. The House Sangria did not disappoint, although it was a bit sweet. The Clam "Chowdah" was thick and creamy and the Walnut Salad was delicious. The Haddock "Horiatiki" Tacos have an interesting olive feta spread and are topped with tzatziki. The sweet pecan pie seemed huge, but it was so tasty we finished it in record time. We will surely return to try the other tempting menu items. read more

I've been to Cabby Shack several times. I've always loved their clam chowder. I'll never go again. $12.99 for a "bowl". I figured it was very pricey, but I was really looking forward to it. When the waiter brought it, I told him that I had ordered a bowl. He told me that it was a bowl. It wasn't as good as I remembered it. Woods Seafood and the Lobster Hut (right next door) charge $5.50 / bowl. They also charged $3.95 for a really bad cup of coffee. Oh well. read more

It's right on the water and there's plenty of parking. You can sit inside or outside. We sat outside and it was beautiful. Seats are not that comfy, they have those plastic chairs that are not the best to sit in for long. Our waitress was great, answered all our questions and was very timely despite having a bunch of tables besides ours. I tried the white sangria it was really good- on the sweet side but I didn't mind. For lunch I had the tuna melt which was on the daily special list. We were sat at a 4 person table (we had a party of 5) but they provided an extra chair and there was more than enough space for everyone.
