Wife and I Came here on a Sunday at 1 PM. Food was amazing, Service was second to none. My waiter was very, very nice, restaurant was very well decorated. This was the first time here won't be the last. We got to bake stuffed lobster (2 lbs for $59 each) it's absolutely the best. Went there last night with family. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was so friendly and polite! During our meal she was constantly checking in and making sure everything was okay. Our drinks came to the table in a timely manner as well as our appetizers. Which all were very tasty. The noise level did get a little high as our dinner progressed as the restaurant was busy. As for our main meals the taste and tenderness were amazing! I sorry for no pictures but i don't think they would have done them justice. I was surprised to find any negative reviews. I visited the restaurant last night with three others. We all enjoyed our meals. Water and bread came to the table promptly. Both couples enjoyed their salads, which were large enough to split. The prime rib that I was served was gigantic, and cooked exactly the way I wanted it with little fat. Side dishes were plentiful. Another person in our party had the lobster mac & cheese, which was served in a hot skillet. The portion was enormous. Another person had swordfish which they enjoyed. Everyone had enough to take something home. It wasn't the most quiet and comfortable place I've ever been, but it's summer and the hubbub is understandable. Recommended. read more

Wow! So good!! Need I say more? Stopped in for dinner with friends. Nice, clean, good size, well lit restaurant with nice big bar. Spacious seating. Great menu. Greeted pleasantly at the door by the hostess. Sat down table for four. Wait service was great! Our waitress, Rebecca, was excellent, attentive, friendly, polite, courteous and professional. Food and drinks all perfectly prepared, absolutely delicious and plentiful. Good amount for the price. Old fashions are awesome. Ordered the sautéed mussels with white wine for appetizer. Finger licking good and tender (sorry no pic. Got devoured quickly) For entrees, we ordered the New England fried platter, twin Maryland crabcakes and the grilled marinated beef tips. Went for my special birthday dinner with my husband. Greeted nicely at door and seated immediately. From there the service was terrible. The waitress Emilia was so unpleasant, took forever to come to the table, read the specials so fast I we had to ask again. Didn't check on us again put the dinner down and that was it. The food however was amazing. I had the stuffed lobster and my husband had a delicious perfectly cooked steak. Left wondering if we'd come back due to the service. read more

The French onion soup had too much sherry in it (too sweet and absent any bone broth flavor) and the jumbo shrimp lacked flavor. However, our mains were worth coming back for. The paella was wonderful - it had a great Smokey undertone and all the seafood in it was cooked perfectly. The swordfish was perfect - nicely seasoned and cooked just right (not over or under). All the reviews about this place were right on target. Servings are generous, nice variety of entrees and the staff is extremely gregarious. My husband chose a queen cut prime rib and it could easily have passed for a competitors regular cut. My chicken dish was served with an al dente pasta which is just the way I like it. Reservations are not accepted. 3 of us arrived around 5:15 on a beautiful Friday evening. It appeared that all of the outdoor seating was taken, however inside there were plenty of tables. The bar was full, but around 6pm there were plenty of seats freed up. SERVICE: Rebecca was excellent. I had my elderly Mom with me, and Rebecca could see her drink glass was a bit top heavy for her, so she returned later with a smaller glass with 1/2 the drink poured and delivered the second half in a separate glass. Very sweet. She is friendly and attentive. BAR: My cosmo was made perfectly, $10.50 and a generous size. Chard was $12 and an average pour. FOOD: The complimentary bread was a bit dry and stale and the olive oil served with it was watery. As we were not there for the free bread we didn't complain or send it back, just put it aside. The Schrod was very good, light, fresh and flaky. The Sea Scallops were very good, however, way overpriced at $36. Guessing the $10 premium might have been due to little lobster bits in the rice, but this dish would have been perfect with no lobster bits at around $26-28. The sautéed mussels app, $16, was excellent and a generous portion - Mom ate them as her entree. ATMOSPHERE: We were placed at a table in the front corner of the restaurant and that section has more of a kitchen feel. If I come back, I'll wait for outdoor seating as that area seemed really nice. There is an admin fee of 3% added to every bill. There is small print on the menu pointing this out, but can be easily overlooked. read more

We had a great dinner tonight. My dinner was about 4 to 5 minutes later than my wife's, which I couldn't care less. As my wife's was served the manager came over apologized and comped my meal. I told her it was not necessary but she insisted. When we went up to thank her she said it's the way they do business. I can only say Boston restaurants are not any better food wise and as far as I can tell definitely no better business wise. Ty and you have loyal customers from here on. I can only speak for the baked stuffed lobster; it was not good. The minuscule portion of lobster hidden in the soggy stuffing was tasteless and also soggy. The stuffing had fat overcooked scallops like rubber bands and shrimp that you'd get out of the jar in cocktail sauce. Disgusting! read more

We had an awesome experience last year and was excited to comeback. I was so disappointed to have this "paella" served. It was more like a soup over rice. TL;DR : Great restaurant with nice outdoor seating and delicious seafood dishes. Recommend: Calamari, Seafood Fra Diavolo, BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Pass: Clam Chowder. We highly recommend the outdoor seating patio if the weather is good since it has a nice airy feel to it. Items we ordered (as of 6/2022): - New England Clam Chowder - $8 - I don't know if it was just our dish or if it is meant to be this way but it was VERY thick. The thick consistency didn't make for an enjoyable eating experience on its own (though it was okay when used as a "dip" for the complimentary bread). Also was a bit too salty for us. - Seafood Fra Diavolo - $19 - If you are a seafood lover then definitely get this! The portion size and quantity of seafood was fantastic for the price and the fact that it comes out on the pan they cooked it in was a very nice touch. Fantastic flavors and perfectly cooked! - The Ultimate BBQ Brisket Sandwich - $18 - Pretty good (though very heavy!). I'm very glad it came with a lot of pickles (both on the sandwich and a wedge on the side) as it's very rich in flavor. Be aware that it's messy to eat! - Fried Rhode Island Calamari - $16 - This was awesome. Great quantity and the remoulade dipping sauce had a very nice kick to it. Would get this again. Special shoutout to the complimentary bread they provide (which is rare especially for a lunch service). Very soft and delicious and the olive oil dipping sauce was great as well. I really wanted to go back to this restaurant, and the fact that they take reservations is really important to be because I live 40 minutes away. I called for a reservation in the mid afternoon for dinner that evening. I was told that they don't allow reservations for the same day. Recently ordered the braised short-ribs with mashed potatoes. Cold blustery day with snow furries - comfort food required. I ordered short-ribs but was served chunks of chuck roast. Sure it was braised, but it's a different cut of meat. It's a bait & switch some restaurants are attempting to pull off. Short ribs ALWAYS come on the bone. I had a very good meal and a nice experience on a recent visit to 42 North. I see that they are sporting a 4-star rating on Yelp and that is very accurate. My experience was 4.5. I will go with a round-down 4 for my review. 42 North accepts reservations for parties of four or more, and we were a party of four and made one. We were seated right away upon arrival, others without reservations needed to wait a bit. One of our four was my one-year-old granddaughter. We were shown to an area where there were other kids and a huge and cool fish tank. It was a nice and thoughtful place for our party to be seated. Our service was very good, our waitress was Tara. Decor is what you would expect at a New England seafood restaurant. The restaurant can get a little loud but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the swordfish and it was totally on point. My son-in-law ordered scallops and they were also very good. My daughter order a vegan chipotle bowl (I think) and she was satisfied. 42 North sports a super big bar that I would be happy to eat at and drink at any time. After an arduous, traffic ridden, six hour drive from NYC, we were starving for some tasty local seafood. Trusting Tellers' high reviews, I chose 42 North as our first meal in Plymouth. We were not disappointed! We arrived at 9pm on a Thursday night, without reservations (as reservations are accepted only for parties of six and more). The place closes at 10pm, but about six tables and a handful of people at the bar were still dinning when we got in the door. We sat by the aquariums and the live singer/musician, who, unfortunately, concluded entertaining the crowd right when we arrived. From the outside, the restaurant looks more upscale than it is inside. A casual vibe inside, simple, typical American diner-like set up inside. A large bar where you can have your meal. Outdoor seating is available during good weather. Everyone was wearing hoodies and sweatpants and I was the only one in a nice dress. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. The food was brought out from the kitchen really quickly, so ask your waiter not to bring out all appetizers at once, so you can enjoy them one by one while they're still warm. The kitchen closes at 10pm on weeknights, so we were warned to order our last dishes by 9:40. We got New England clam chowder ($7), which was chock full of clams. Perfectly creamy and delicate. Little potatoes and plenty of clams. I've had many superb clam chowders and have to admit that this is one of the best ones I've had. Lobster corn chowder ($10), with lobster pieces and sweet corn. Thick, hearty taste and consistency. A piquant taste compared to the delicate clam chowder. Delicious broth, tons of corn, but only three tiny pieces of lobster. Stuffed quahogs ($14), two clam shells per portion, were nothing special. The stuffing had too little clams inside, and $14 for just two quahogs is steep. Tater tot Poutine ($14) was surprisingly delicious. A big piece of pulled short rib meat (done in port wine, semi glacé) was served on top, along with house made 9 cheese sauce, which was creamy and tasty. The portion was huge--definitely could've served as an entree. Plenty of tater tots that we took home. A surprisingly original interpretation of a poutine, which we really enjoyed. The shrimp and scallop duo ($26) was standard, nothing to rave about. Buttery pasta, no white sauce. A filling portion, enough shrimps and scallops for all that linguine. I'd suggest trying something you wouldn't be able to get everywhere else. Overall, recommend and would be back again! read more
