We stopped in for lunch on our way to visit our daughter in Falmouth. What a welcoming & spectacular experience we had! My husband loved the lobster roll - best he's ever had! I ordered the grilled chicken with prosciutto, mozz & tomatoes in a Marsala sauce with risotto - legit could enjoy this entree every day! Amelia was our server and made us feel right at home! We will be back!

First time dining here. Party of 6 for Father's Day. Our waiter was great(always impressed when a server does not write anything down or use a hand held computer. Food was Super! Will definitely return.

Wow! So good!! Need I say more? Stopped in for dinner with friends. Nice, clean, good size, well lit restaurant with nice big bar. Spacious seating. Great menu. Greeted pleasantly at the door by the hostess. Sat down table for four. Wait service was great! Our waitress, Rebecca, was excellent, attentive, friendly, polite, courteous and professional. Food and drinks all perfectly prepared, absolutely delicious and plentiful. Good amount for the price. Old fashions are awesome. Ordered the sautéed mussels with white wine for appetizer. Finger licking good and tender (sorry no pic. Got devoured quickly) For entrees, we ordered the New England fried platter, twin Maryland crabcakes and the grilled marinated beef tips. Again all perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Definitely will return to try the other items on the menu.

42° North was a delightful place to enjoy an early dinner. The ambience is comforting and inviting. Our server was attentive and wonderful. The food was hot and delicious! I have the Sea Bass special which was layered over lobster risotto OMG, and served with perfectly cooked asparagus. My wife had the Seared Scallops, delicious and hot as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Schrod, $26. Very good. The broccoli, cooked with garlic, excellent.

Reservations are not accepted. 3 of us arrived around 5:15 on a beautiful Friday evening. It appeared that all of the outdoor seating was taken, however inside there were plenty of tables. The bar was full, but around 6pm there were plenty of seats freed up. SERVICE: Rebecca was excellent. I had my elderly Mom with me, and Rebecca could see her drink glass was a bit top heavy for her, so she returned later with a smaller glass with 1/2 the drink poured and delivered the second half in a separate glass. Very sweet. She is friendly and attentive. BAR: My cosmo was made perfectly, $10.50 and a generous size. Chard was $12 and an average pour. FOOD: The complimentary bread was a bit dry and stale and the olive oil served with it was watery. As we were not there for the free bread we didn't complain or send it back, just put it aside. The Schrod was very good, light, fresh and flaky. The Sea Scallops were very good, however, way overpriced at $36. Guessing the $10 premium might have been due to little lobster bits in the rice, but this dish would have been perfect with no lobster bits at around $26-28. The sautéed mussels app, $16, was excellent and a generous portion - Mom ate them as her entree. ATMOSPHERE: We were placed at a table in the front corner of the restaurant and that section has more of a kitchen feel. If I come back, I'll wait for outdoor seating as that area seemed really nice. There is an admin fee of 3% added to every bill. There is small print on the menu pointing this out, but can be easily overlooked.

I don't know if I was starving, unhappy or what but this place and meal hit the spot and hit it hard. I thought I deserved a drink so I got a Guinness, which was thankfully on tap so yah! I got the bourbon steak tips with steak fries and opted for a garden salad instead of the green beans - yes, yes, and yes! Steak tips were perfectly flavorful and cooked just right for my taste. I really wanted fries and (unlike some of my family/friends) I actually like steak fries and they were cooked up just the way I like'em (crisp outside, not too mushy on the inside). The salad though, yah it was basic and yet not - all kinds of different colored tomatoes which actually had great flavor to them, and it was not just a couple but quite a few and they were "fresh". That is basically what I loved about the salad - not your typical anemic looking/tasting salad but with mixed greens (not just lame looking iceberg) and full of other veggies. The server also could not have been nicer (like I said I went through a lot that day so seeing a friendly face was nice) and always checking on us. I think we made a great choice in stopping here - it was a 4:30 on a Tuesday and it was busy. Good sign!

Bottom line... it doesn't get much better than Dillon's Local…read more My only gripe is that it's a little small, so if your timing isn't right, you might be waiting for a table -- but honestly, that's part of the charm. It has that cozy hometown pub feel: sports on, music playing, and a great local vibe. The staff treats you like you've been coming in for years, making you feel like a regular right away -- and that's definitely a good thing. Homemade comfort food that hits on every level, a delicious menu from top to bottom, and a drink menu that complements it perfectly. And by the way... the Guinness pours well!

Bartender handled the whole joint on a Saturday lunch. -- Patty Melt: Nice straddling between traditional and innovative. Brisket patty, neither thick nor thin, with a soft grind, cooked showing pink (I asked for medium rare if possible). Bacon-onion-jalapeño jam with some zip and bacon saltiness and bendy texture. Caramelized onions with a hint of sweetness. Partly-melted American cheese. Griddled marble rye with unnoticeable butter. Not perfection, but an enjoyable mix of flavors and textures. -- Fries (with the patty melt): Thin, crunchy shoestrings, aggressively salted, in assorted lengths. -- Quinoa Bowl: Bright flavors, good textures, per my wife. -- Ginger Soda: Made in house, string Ginger flavors, not too much sugar. Very good, though at $7, it's gotta be something you're certain you want. Solid experience. Hard to get a full picture without trying more things, but good enough to try more. It did take time also to be asked for our drink/food order but once our server came around she was very nice and apologetic for the wait. We were able to get an app quicker than the food since we ordered fried pickles as that was the quickest item to get out to us. The fried pickles were thickly sliced with the perfect amount of breaded batter and the dipping sauce was perfect. I ordered the steak quesadillas and they were very good, I did ask for jalapeños and that made it much better.

We were seated right away, though the high-top tables near the door were freezing; guests with winter jackets and hats looked like they were braving the arctic. Our waitress didn't come by for about 15 minutes, which we didn't mind initially. When she arrived, she seemed a bit awkward. We ordered drinks and asked about the $9 chowder, specifically if it came in a bowl or cup. She confidently said it was a "bigggg giant bowl" and suggested we split it. When the chowder finally arrived, we were disappointed. I may have counted three small potatoes in my bowl, and the crackers seemed to take up most of the space. If you're craving chowder in Plymouth, there are many better and more reasonably priced options. We are new homeowners and cook lovely meals daily, so the few times we go out these days, we really look forward to enjoying the atmosphere and getting exactly what we are paying for. We're not overly fancy--pubs and taverns are our jam. Sitting at the bar, we finally enjoyed our meals. The bar staff were great, and the actual meal itself was VERY good. However, it seemed like if you're not a "regular," the attention and welcoming feel can be inconsistent unless you're seated at the bar. In short: good food, okay bar service, but inconsistent front-of-house experience.

People debate whether Plymouth Rock is worth a detour, but I found it to be an interesting stop with a gorgeous waterfront view. While in Plymouth, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at East Bay Grile. The restaurant gives off a country club vibe with valet parking, a classic darker indoor dining area, and a wonderful bright outdoor patio with appropriate background music. I had the fried shrimp dish with onion rings and fries, a very tasty meal and a wonderful value at just $23. Our lunch averaged about $35 per person all in including drinks, tax and tip. Our server was unfamiliar with the menu. When asked what type of marinade was on a dish her response was "just a basic one", she had no idea and did not offer to find out. When our food arrived the runner dropped off our plates and literally ran away, no asking if we needed anything else. Our server did not stop by to find out how our food was until we were almost finished with our meal. I had to flag down a busboy to request a condiment. My lobster roll was the worst I've ever had. Anywhere. I've lived on the east coast for 50 years so I've had a few lobster rolls in my life. I've never had one that was warm with butter but also crispy and dry on top. The meat was mostly the tips of small claws, had no flavor and was really tough. There was a good amount of meat in the sandwich but it was unpleasant to eat. When the server finally bothered to stop by she offered to replace it but I was done with the entire experience at that point. The restaurant was not full so there is really no excuse for the poor service and food quality. Please don't waste your time and money here.
