    Carnitas taquitos

I had a really good lunch here today and I had to report back. I've passed by this business for years now and today I came in as a happy accident as one of the other spots in this shopping center I tried to frequent was closed. Craving something new I saw Cabo Beach Grill and decided to give it a go. This spot is a no frills Americanized Mexican restaurant. It's giving beachy, almost like a more mom and pop Baja Fresh? The decor inside and out was cute, very on theme for a Cabo type beach vibe. They put effort into their decor and brand which I can appreciate. You order at the counter and then they'll bring your food to your table. So it's very casual, no table side service. There was a lot that this spot does well. For starters they have a really big menu, so a lot of options to choose from. Also the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Coming in for lunch it definitely wasn't super busy but there was a steady trickle of customers. Since it wasn't overly busy it was a relaxed and quieter atmosphere and the staff were very on top of things during the down time. Staff were quick to busy dirty tables, clear plates, etc. The gentlemen at the register were friendly and attentive during my dine in experience. Also, I appreciate that my meal was pretty well paced as they fried up the taquitos fresh but as soon as they were done, they came right to my table. If you are on a time crunch, this is a good spot that is pretty fast. They have an immaculate salsa bar here! One of the best I've actually seen. So many salsa options and I was so grateful that their more mild salsas weren't just a generic tomato dip. They actually had a creamy white mild salsa which was so good. Also I upped the spice and tried a medium green avocado / pepper type sauce that was phenomenal. I love this salsa bar and it definitely hasn't gotten the hype it deserves. For my food it was an overall 4 stars. It hits the spot and is some classic Mexican American cuisine. My pork taquitos were a 5/5. Plenty of pork and cooked crispy and fresh. Also love that the guacamole and sour cream they put on top was fresh. The rice and beans were more mid - like a 3.5, nothing to rave home about but good taquitos as my main. Overall, though the food was good and I would definitely come back. If you are looking for a casual spot, this is definitely a good option for lunch or dinner, the staff are really friendly and the food is cooked fresh to order. I live for their salsa bar! Just remember that this isn't a very unique or special place, but what they do get right here is enough to have me coming back again for sure.

Went back today and asked for no lettuce or vegetables in my rice, bean and chicken bowl and they even wrote it down. When i opened the bowl up at home what do i find at the bottom of the bowl, everything we asked not to be in the bowl.

Pleasantly surprised by how much their food has improved since our last visited. We hadn't been for years when the food was very disappointing. Glad to see that the food has gotten tastier! They had a 3 chicken taquito plate for $5. No sides, but considering it was like an extra $10 for rice, beans, and a drink - this was a great deal. And they were delicious! They also had some carne asada fries. Could've used a bit more meat, but overall, it was a large portion of fries that were great for sharing. Wouldn't be my first choice for food, but a good choice to grab a bite when we're in the area.

What's left of the steak taquitos.

My children absolutely love the taquitos. Dad likes the chicken burritos. Their fresh salsa is very good too.

Great food, great price... Recommend the nachos, burritos and if you want to go light, the burrito bowl. Don't recommend the enchiladas...

Parking is, well, if you know you know. :( REVIEW: This is a great little restaurant and I prioritize coming here every time I am in DTVTA. Recently, I was at the Rubicon Theatre and needed lunch after a show. This location is located within walking distance of the Rubicon and is usually so busy each time I come! My marker of a good place to eat is usually on how busy they are. :) This recent visit I had a torta (my first, didn't catch the name) and it was outstanding! The meat was fresh and hot and the bun was flavorful! I did note that on my next visit here I want to try the Hawaiian (?) torta! Can't wait to be back! The service is always great each time. Thank you to the ladies who are friendly and respectful and greeted us (and all the customers) with a smile. Thank you so much! Definitely recommend!

I've eaten at 3 of their locations, and perhaps this location may be slightly more geared to 'gringo' tastes. I had their breakfast burrito, and unlike most other tacquerias, they give you a lot of nice melted cheese. The beans didn't taste as salty or flavorful as some other taco places. But overall, very satisfying, just didn't have that fully tacqueria taste. I have really enjoyed their veggie Papas and rajas tacos at the Avenue location. This may be the best tacqueria for vegetarians, more options. Staff here tends to be younger (college ages), and generally very friendly. I actually sometimes just stop in for their Horchata. It's not homemade (as that is a very difficult drink to make!) but I find it satisfying. In general all the prices here are reasonable, less than some other places that are charging 15-17 for burritos. This is a strong recommendation if you are downtown and craving casual Mexican eats!

It is great for any special occasion and offers inside and outside dining. I suggested this restaurant to my out of town guests to celebrate my dear friend's birthday. Rumfish did not disappoint. The Spring weather is beautiful in Ventura so we sat outside. Service is prompt and casual. It was crowded even on a Thursday evening, but the outdoor area is spacious. Everything from appetizers to dessert is fresh and first class. Seafood options are plentiful and seasoned perfectly. The only downside is that parking is limited - only one handicapped spot for two busy restaurants. No parking signs prevent street parking up Palm.

The restaurant has a really cute Mediterranean/Italian vibe with gorgeous lemon trees and comfy patio seating. It was chilly outside, but the heaters made it comfortable. Staff was friendly, just very busy because of the holiday. Food took around an hour, but understandable for Mother's Day. The food was excellent. I got the flatbread with apricot jam and bacon, and it was such a good mix of sweet and savory with fresh arugula on top. Definitely recommend it. My boyfriend got the wagyu burger medium with fries and everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. Other people at our table got shrimp and corn, fish tacos, and burgers, and everything looked really good. Great place, will come back
