I have lived here for years but I rarely eat out, I shop at Vons next door to this place all the time but have never stopped in. Yesterday I did because I was just too tired to cook, and I already want to go back today. I got the steak tacos and a potato, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito. The steak was tender and full of flavor, and they filled those little tortillas so they overflowed with steak. I love cilantro and when they asked "cilantro and onions okay?" I was happy to find a very generous amount of cilantro on my tacos. The breakfast burrito was so good I can see it being addictive, especially if I can add ingredients and make it my own. This is definitely my new go-to place for Mexican food. read more

Me and the girl were in a hurry to get something to eat right before her class at night over at the college so we stopped in this shopping center to grab a bite. We thought we were going to have to choose from McDonnalds and Burger King (nice choice, huh?) and then she turned and said "Lets go to Cabo!" I had never been here but apparently its one of her favorite places. Its got nice outdoor seating and looks very nice and very clean inside. The prices were very reasonable...I think my two cheese enchiladas were 5 bucks... They made everything to order and man was it good. The enchiladas were unique in the way they were made, not smothered with sauce like they are at some places. You could actually taste them. And even the chips that came with it were nice and fresh. The young woman who was working was great as well...when she didnt realize that I had asked her for a large soda until after we had already charged my card, she just gave me the soda for free. Thats what I call good customer service. I am looking forward to eating here again. read more

Cabo Beach Grill is an awesome restaurant for dine-in, take-out, kids, families, watching sports, drinking pitchers of beer and most-of-all enjoying well-made Mexican food. I wish I could say I've tried many of their entrees, but my kids always get the bean and cheese burritos with rice on the side and my wife and I always get the Fiesta burritos. The ingredients are fresh, the chips are made right there and there's an expansive salsa bar. Best of all, my somewhat picky kids always finish their whole meal and not just so that they can chow down on the delicious cinnamon chips. There is ample free parking in the huge Victoria Plaza parking lot. The floor and tables are clean. There are a few tables outside if you want to people watch or heckle the suckers in the McDonalds drive-thru line. read more

I am a firm believer that you should try to give the restaurant a chance to make things right before writing a negative review, but I did that and the staff on duty was too apathetic to do anything. Came here for lunch on the weekend. Staff was unpleasant/unhelpful, food was cold, and the quality of food was less than mediocre. Since there are several other decent places to get a taco or burrito nearby I think its safe to say to skip this place entirely. read more

I came to this place after a long day of driving, and was expecting a nice lunch at this restaurant. Food was alright, there wasn't enough chicken in my burrito bowl. Another thing was that the horchata tasted very watered down, I was disappointed. Customer service was alright, but then I overheard an older woman speaking spanish, and she was talking about my table. She probably didn't know that I speak spanish, and was making fun of the fact that we were all on our phones and why would we even bother to go out and eat. Stopped in for quick lunch before our daughters game as the high school. Told the wife, "only 3 star rating", she said "let's try it". Large place, 1 customer, 1 cashier and 1 cook... Food: I ordered shrimp bowl and grilled fish taco, wife (2) carne asada tacos, small guac & chips. Shrimp bowl was bland, pinto beans only (black beans were still cooking), rice seemed old. Fish taco was ok. Guacamole was ok, kind of bland, but the chips were either store bought and old, or made there, but made last week! They had some kind of creamy salsa there, tasted it, but seriously tasted rancid. My wife said her steak tacos didn't really taste like anything. We got up and actually The one bright spot in this experience was there red hot sauce, it actually had flavor. Although not from this area, would not come back if we found ourselves in Ventura looking for Mexican food. read more

The potato tacos are delicious but small. The rice is good but not too fresh. The beans were flavorless and the salsa was decent. Place is not bad but it's not super great. Thought I'd write an update because I'd like to see these folks do better. I've had burritos from this place before, and they are typically non-descript. HOWEVER, I recently tried a shrimp burrito without any rice and it was excellent. The beans and the shrimp were cooked very well. In fact, the burrito was so juicy that it fell apart right on my plate; this ended up being a minor inconvenience because now I can share my dish. Good thing for spoons! To be honest, so many places don't do rice well; probably because it's something you can't rush, and it doesn't surprise me here. Potato tacos are still the bomb! Now that I have my daughter hooked on them, it's nice to slip out for a little mini-date with the whole family. All in all, they're making steps in the right direction. read more

My family loves the breakfast burritos and the cilantro cream salsa. My husband gets the chorizo and egg, I get the machaca, and my daughter likes the ham. Everything is delicious, tastes fresh, and the burritos are big. I usually can only eat half at a time. It's usually not crowded, presumably because it's tucked away in the shopping center. Their breakfast burritos are the best!! My favorite is the Potato Egg and Cheese.... I get It almost every time!! Not greasy or over filled with cheese like most restaurants. I have been coming to this restaurant for about 3 years now... I was in high school at the time and would walk over during lunch to grab this yummy burrito. My bean and cheese burrito with enchilada topping was like eating a burrito from Taco Bell. Taste like they use canned beans. My friend order the chicken Taquito place which only came with about a spoon of guacamole for $10. Im very unsatisfied. The salsa had no spice to it. My favorite thing to eat here even for lunch is the breakfast burrito. I order it with potato, egg and cheese and add some of that light green garlicky salsa on top. It's pretty amazing. Their shrimp burritos are also a favorite of mine. They are on the pricier side but the shrimp are huge and the burrito is stuffed with all kinds of fresh ingredients and tons of flavor. Mmmm... potato tacos. We eat at Cabo regularly because it's within walking distance of our house. And, because not too many places offer potato tacos as good as Cabos. Strangely enough, the meat tacos are made with the fake/pre-made taco shells, but the potato tacos are made like a homemade, freshly fried taco with real tortillas. Hubby and I got carry out burritos from here last weekend - we both had al pastor. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and helpful when I had questions, and the prices were right on for a burrito. The salsa bar was in need of a little TLC, so I didn't bring any home with me. The burritos themselves were okay. I think next time I'll try something other than the pastor. It was almost like they watered down all the salsa. The do have Dos XX on tap but no limes to put in the beer. I thought it was pretty odd that a Mexican restaurant didn't have any limes. This place has a lot of potential if they get their menu right. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the great smell of seasoned chicken being grilled behind the counter. If there was only a way I could order a piece of chicken a-la-carte or perhaps with a side, that would be ideal. Instead I'm forced to consume carbs by ordering it inside a burrito or taco. Same deal with the pork. It's fantastic meat but I wouldn't call it a "beach" grill if you can't get in a lo-carb option. I'd give it 5 stars if they adjust the options. read more

I've been going to Cabo since attending Buena High (next door). I think they have awesome food. I either "make-up" my burrito and like getting the burrito with potatoes cheese and guacamole OR get a potato taco (both delicious). I like that they grill everything in front of you. I especially enjoy their "secret sauce" at the salsa bar. Super good place, a must try. read more
