Cabo bob is always a hit. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The drinks are also good

On a recent visit to this Cabo Bob's, my mother in law ordered her usual bowl with half brisket and half fish. She is a frequent customer and orders this same combination every time When it was time to pay, the cashier wanted to charge her for two full servings of protein instead of the standard half half order. She explained that she had ordered half brisket and half fish and even suggested asking the employee who had served her to confirm. Rather than speaking with the employee who served her, another staff member came over and began examining the bowl. The employees looked over the contents and gave opinions on the serving size and ultimately decided that the portions appeared larger than a half-and-half serving. Instead of simply discussing the situation or adjusting the charge appropriately, they threw the entire bowl into the trash and wanted remake it with what they believed was the correct amount of food. She was shocked by the decision to discard a perfectly good meal, especially since any over-serving was the result of the employee preparing the bowl--not something she requested or had any control over. As a customer, she ordered the standard half-and-half bowl in good faith and should not have been made to feel responsible if the portion sizes exceeded company guidelines. The experience was so surprising and upsetting that she chose to leave rather than wait for the bowl to be remade. As a loyal, repeat customer, she found the handling of the situation disappointing and wasteful. She believes the issue could have been resolved respectfully without throwing away her meal or making her feel as though she was at fault. We will not be returning to this location. read more

I love Cabo Bob's, but this location is hit or miss staff is not always the friendliest either. Half the time they're missing some of the protein. read more

First Cabo Bobs with a disappointing experience. They're really skimpy with their portion sizes, like in a manner that makes Chipotle look generous. Without exaggeration I counted 12 beans, about two tea spoons of rice, and it felt like the manager was purposely trying to see how little brisket he could add just because. Weird experience because both the Katy and Galleria locations are excellent. Don't come to this one lol It's the first time I had to walk off during my order because it was pretty crazy. read more

I believe this building was a former Coney Island. As mentioned earlier, I have driven right by this place everyday as it's tucked beneath the 59 S bridge, and it happens to be RIGHT before my exit to get home along the feeder. I can't say I've ever heard of Cabo Bob's, but it feels like Chipotle with more options and variety. The option for different flavored tortillas is a nice touch. They also have different types of sauces out of squeeze bottles when you dine in which adds to the already flavorful food, if you want to go the flavor town route. Price is comparable to its competitors. Another plus is the fountain drinks they offer are not your typical Coco Cola vs. Pepsi. They use drinks from the Baja Bottling Co, which uses cane sugar. All in all, we had a great experience here. Will be returning whenever we are in the mood for the burritos and tacos! read more

I was SO EXCITED to try Cabo Bobs and am so sad to say I will not be back (at least not to this location). We walked in and waited for 15 minutes for someone to start our order even though there was nobody else in line, and when she did finally ask it was as if we were an annoyance. When it came time to pay I asked for a large chips and queso. She said Guacamole? I said no queso please. She then brought over guac. When I brought it back she told me I was wrong, I had not ordered queso (our receipt literally said queso). My burrito was so poorly wrapped I had to just open it up and eat it like a bowl. Food over all was not that good, not bad but nothing special. Chips and queso were good once we finally got it. Honestly, for a cheaper price & better burrito I can go down the street to Chipotle. read more

I've been a loyal Cabo Bob's fan for years--back when it was only in Austin and now that it's expanded to Houston. Because of that, I know what to expect in terms of food quality and service. Unfortunately, tonight's visit was disappointing. We ordered two bowls: one with steak, and one half chicken, half steak. Both were filled to the brim and tasted fresh--no complaints there. We also added two soft taco shells on the side and a regular queso with chips. The issue came with the chips and queso. They gave us the queso but forgot the chips. When I went back to ask, the staff member was rude and insisted I hadn't ordered both, even though I clearly had. She made me pay for another set of chips, which was frustrating considering I'd already paid for the full chips and queso combo. To make matters worse, she only gave us a very small portion of chips--not even close to the usual serving. We ran out of chips long before we made a dent in the queso, which definitely put a damper on the experience. The place was busy as usual, but there was still decent seating available. While the food remained solid, the customer service and stingy chip portion tonight left a bad taste in my mouth. I have been eating at Cabo Bob's since I was in college and it is still my preferred fast casual / create your own restaurant. If you have never tried Cabo's, I would describe it as a Chipotle that is tastier, fresher, and offers more variety and way more value. During my most recent visit, I dropped in around 15-20 minutes before closing and the employees were still very gracious and served me with a smile. While they were running out of some items that were not going to be replenished (steak, chopped cilantro, and chipotle crema sauce), the majority of what I wanted to order was still available. I highly recommend the fish (fried fresh every time), queso (great in burritos too), all of the grilled veggies, mango pico, chipotle cream, ancho rancho, and hot sauce on the side (also provided at the tables). My go to order is the nachos with fish, which comes with guac and queso. It is honestly always such a satisfying and huge meal. I also enjoy the flavored tortillas. No matter how you order, you are sure to be left with a very full stomach and maybe enough for another meal left over. read more

In addition to forgetting items in the to-go order, including a quesadilla and side of guac, the quality of the ingredients is poor. The beef was fatty and gristly, the items were left off of the quesadillas (we ordered 3 quesadillas and received 2), the chips were cold as was the queso. Manager at store told me she was sorry, but they are very busy and will credit us for the quesadilla left off. I have been a big fan of Cabo Bobs on FountainView for years and thought the Meadows Place location would be comparable but was very wrong. Delicious burritos that are way better and bigger (!) than Chipotle. My husband and I got fish burritos and luckily, we were able to get the fish that had just come out of the fryer. Tortillas are pressed to order and hot when they come off the grill. There are tons of toppings, and the burritos are STUFFED. It was extremely busy but service was still friendly. Having lived in Austin, I was soooo excited to head that a Cabo Bob's would be opening up in Stafford! I got to visit and was instantly reminded of why Cabo Bob's is so much better than Chipotle. Starting with the tortillas - they're freshly pressed, have multiple tortilla options, and you can even mix two together! Portion sizes are already generous, there's no need to record the employees. Cabo Bob's also offers unique toppings like mango pico, and has way more sauce options than just salsa. If that wasn't enough to convince you, just look at how cost effective this place is! Any burrito/bowl is going to be less than $10! In this economy, that's crazy, and I love Cabo Bob's all the more for offering affordable prices. Brisket Steak Pork Chicken Fish 4 types of tortillas and 3 types of beans to select from Love the mint sweet tea but mixed with a little unsweetened. The queso was a little thin. So I was impressed with the amount of food they give for the prices. The portion sizes were huge. The queso was good. My husband and MIL both enjoyed their burritos (one had fish & one had beef). I enjoyed my tacos (I was full after eating only one.. lol). The kids enjoyed the chips/queso the most. The service was also good. The atmosphere was just like any other fast food restaurant. The only complaint is that the beef in the kids quesadillas weren't cut small enough for a kid to eat. My son almost choked on his food so he didn't eat it at all. There's an easy remedy to that so I hope someone in management sees this and starts cutting the beef smaller because it's definitely a liability. read more

I've been seeing this place all over my TikTok, so my sisters & I decided to try it out one day for lunch. First of all, the portion sizes are HUGE, and for the price? Honestly, not too bad. I didn't realize this location replaced James Coney Island, so the concept was weird on the outside. Nonetheless, the food was good. The queso is a bit on the runnier side. If you get the nachos to go, it will get soggy pretty quickly. This was my first time visiting this place, and sadly the experience was ruined because of the cashier's attitude. My boyfriend was really excited to take me here, so we were both looking forward to it, but the interaction with the cashier completely changed the mood. When we were ordering, the cashier said, "Anything else... I hope not," while rolling her eyes. It felt very rude and unnecessary. My boyfriend then handed her a punch card and was talking about how he only needs one more till getting a free shirt, and she rolled her eyes again and said "ugh." He was being nice the entire time, so that reaction was really disappointing. Good customer service makes a big difference, especially for first-time customers. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt uncomfortable and like we were bothering her. Unfortunately, that interaction ruined the whole experience for both of us. I didn't get her name but she had white eyelids and a some what tan face just to point out and the behavior alone was enough to leave a bad impression. Food taste great always, that has never been an issue so I decided to try a different spot and that was a mistake. If you are preparing fresh tortillas made to order why would you be handing out said tortillas without a napkin or something to protect from the heat... I've burned my hand TWICE because they decided to hand us the aluminum tortillas straight in my hand, there's plates and paper bags available as a better delivery system but the ladies seem careless and rude and just want to hurry you off even if there's no line. I saw a few posts from others on my social media feed about Cabo Bob's so I've been waiting to stop in and get the bowl. Cabo Bob's is a very clean, cute, kinda surfer looking style restaurant. They played island and Bob Marley tunes the whole time I dined. Unfortunately I came at the end of breakfast and had to wait about 20 minutes to get my bowl which was on the lunch menu. I didn't mind waiting because the bowls i've seen looked amazing. The staff was very friendly and alerted me as soon as lunch hit. I ordered a bowl with beef, lettuce, rice, beans and veggies. The green jalapeño sauce they have is amazing. Guacamole is an extra charge so I passed on that but my bowl was still really good. I will def be back. They even give you a stamp card that after 6 purchases you can get a free entree or a Cabo Bob's t shirt. read more

I like to think of this place as "Chipotle" but fresher, higher quality, bigger selection, and just overall better haha. My favorite part of Cabo Bob's is their MADE TO ORDER FRESH tortillas. How can you beat soft, fresh, hot tortillas that are literally made a minute before you eat them? With multiple flavors of tortillas, you can't go wrong. My go to order here is their deluxe fish tacos with a little bit of everything. I even add a little bit of their brown rice and baja beans in the taco as well. Their fish tacos are so good when they're fully loaded with cheese, pico de gallo, jalapenos, grilled onions, etc. My favorite sauce is their spicy jalapeno sauce which has a kick, but is super creamy. Overall Cabo Bob's Burritos is honestly one of the best fast casual restaurants in Houston. Please open a location closer towards the Pearland/Clear Lake/NASA area! read more

I am in a meeting at work. We are having lunch before our meeting starts, so my supervisor provided lunch. I've never heard of Cabo Bob's, so I wasn't sure how it was going to be.. but I'm impressed. It was all boxed up in sturdy containers, we had pinzas and spoons for all of the boxes. There were 3 different types of tortillas, cilantro lime rice, chicken and brisket, queso, HOMEMADE CHIPS!!!, cheese to sprinkle.. I attached pics so check them out. The food was delicious!!
