They have a lot of good food here, and this time I specifically tried the torta. It was a 10/10. The flavor was definitely there. This is one of my go-to spots when I'm craving a torta and a place I trust to get it right. My boyfriend loves the tacos from here, for him it's a 10/10. The service is great. They're always fast and attentive, which makes the experience smooth and enjoyable every time. The ambiance is nice overall. The inside has an old-fashioned, classic feel that's simple and comfortable. The outside could use some updating, but once you're inside, it feels welcoming. I've had my share of breakfast tacos in the area. And Jalapeno Joe's is by far the best! The soft tortillas, the fluffy eggs, the tender meats, the melted cheese... makes me want to drool as I write this. Don't be hesitant to try it just because it's right next to a gas station. You'll regret not giving this place a try! They charge their breakfast tacos based on how many items you get in it. If you ask me, go for as many as you like because the price difference is only a few cents. I've had sausage, egg, cheese, chorizo, potato, beans, bacon, and all the mix & matches you can come up with. I've also had their beef fajita tacos, barbacoa tacos, pastor tacos, and guisada tacos with my sister. All were great! All the meats were tender and flavorful. The only thing I disliked were the beans. Got a bean & cheese taco once and didn't like it as much as other places. But all the other ones were soooo good. I never really go in that direction so I don't get Jalapeno Joe's as often as I'd like to. But if you get the chance, give them a try! read more

First, they have a sign that says "no mask no service" but no employee at this establishment wears a mask. Second, the breakfast tacos are skimpy and have no flavor. What I got for a machacado taco was insulting. The salsa is served in little baggies, which is a bit inconvenient. They're nice, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. read more

Don't ever get the queso. Tastes like the cheese in macaroni lol I'm not even kidding.. was really disappointed.

I dont even have to open the bag to know I paid way too much for 3 tacos a smattering of rice and a clump of beans for 15 dollars. The corn tortillas were too thick and dry. Thin small chunk of unseasoned meat, beans dry as was the rice. Was told it comes with avacado and lime wedges. No lime wedges and an eight slice of unripe avacado doesnt count. Even the sauces they said it came with were a joke, put in little baggies and tied in a knot. Find a taco truck and spend half as much. This place gives the worst of gas station food a bad name. After eating a bit I forced myself to throw up from fear of getting food poisoning. read more

My husband and I spent years trying different breakfast taco places in the MSA, and Jalapeño Joe's is the second best spot in a sea of hundreds. The staff is amazing, friendly, and fast. The food is YUM, and when people visit us out in the 'burbs from out of state, we pickup breakfast here to say welcome to Texas, thus providing them an introduction to breakfast tacos. Jalapeno Joe's, why have I been so scared to give you guys a try? Maybe because you're connected to a Shell Gas Station? What a big mistake. I have been here four times in the past week and a half and simply put, this place has some damn good food. It's been hard to find a place with everything I want from a taqueria while being so close to home but Joe's has managed to fill that gap. The barbacoa, chicharron and refried beans from Joe's are the best I have ever had. The barbacoa is very moist and the chicharron is delicious, something I can't say in the same sentence about most taquerias. I don't think I've ever cared about refried beans until now. Yum Errr, I'm thinking about what to try on my next trip while writing this review. Breakfast tacos are good. Caldo de res is ok. What else am I missing... Oh yeah, how about a hamburger? Yup, they got that too and it's actually good. As I was eating the hamburger, I couldn't put my finger on why it was so different (in a good way). I checked the burger and saw that it was mixed with a bunch of green onions which gives it a nice kick. Just remember to leave out the mustard... The bad? They need to start offering free chips and salsa. They also need to invest some money to provide better ways of serving salsa. If you order to go, they give you salsa rolled up in little plastic wrap which looks insanely cheap and ghetto. Good thing that those things are shadowed by the quality of food. read more

Been here a few times after I passed it driving by one day. Their tortas, tacos, and menudo are on point! My favorite is the barbacoa tacos. They are not too greasy or dry and the flavor is kept throughout the whole taco. For tortas, I really like them with carnitas because all the flavors in the torta complement each other. For their menudo, it is awesome! I'm very picky on my menudo and this place has what I call an authentic menudo. Their salsas are also very good and their aguas frescas as well. read more

The folks working the counter are friendly, and they always get my order right. Both the red and green salsas are tasty and spicy hot. They have the best flautas and enchiladas. She serves them up authentic style exactly how I used to get them in the plazas in Mexico. We were apprehensive to eat here because yes it is attached to a gas station, but it is very good! My family and I ordered breakfast tacos. They are some of the best in the area.
