I was directed to visit Cabo after the night had ended at the rival bar next to them called "Lance's Turtle Club." It was a Thursday night at 11:00PM and Cabo seemed to have just gotten the party started. The bar had a good amount of people. The customers and the staff were friendly. I believe Cabo has a burger night and a rib night. During the burger night, the burgers are $5. An excellent price, but take into mention that all the prices at Cabo are acceptable or better than expected. There is smoking allowed inside aside of cigars due to their strong aroma. Cabo has nights where a DJ comes by to play. They have a few games at the bar including darts, pool table, and ping pong. They have a few tv's and three leather couches around a fireplace with a tv above to watch the live UFC fights or games. Cabo is my new favorite local bar and I would like to thank the bartenders for excellent service and I look forward o visiting Cabo again along with a few of my fiends whom also enjoyed their experience. read more

I am not from the clear lake area but we went here on advice from a local. It was fun and the dress code is really relaxed. They have a live band on the top floor and dj and sand pit on the bottom floor.The drink prices were reasonable and the music was good. the crowd was very mixed with young and old. read more

Be weary of the price gauging bar staff. After ordering a round of champagne at $5 per glass, our party decided to order a bottle. When it came time to settle the tab, we were floored to discover we'd been charged $45 for the bottle - of Cooks, no less!. Despite asking the bartender repeatedly about the price, we were laughed at and blown off. Two days later, I stopped back by to speak to the manager. Before calling the manager over, I wanted to confirm the price of a bottle of champagne with a different bartender. Not surprisingly, I was quoted $30. It became obvious as to where the problem lies: the manager was equally dismissive and actually tried to defend the staff with a nonsensical line about $30 being the "happy hour price" and $40 being the "weekend price." Hmm. I'm no Einstein, but neither explanation adds up. Whether an intentional effort to pad sales or a poor oversight, clearly the staff and management at Cabo have a hard time doing math. It seems they also missed class on customer service. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places, The Waitresses on the tentative, the music is always right for the crowd. They prepare your food exactly the way you want them to. It's a little far out but it's worth the drive. read more

I didn't like Cabo as Club Classic. The crowds alittle young, but I actually enjoyed it. The dance floors changed some as well as the dj booth and stage, the table clothes are gone, and the bar area's more approachable. We have smokers in our group so it doesnt both me, so long the smoke filters out.The down stairs platform bar is fun, with the sand, swings and hula hoops, viewing the water. There's been a Raggae Band, last couple of times. Its not a place I can stay out all night at though. read more

After a long incredible day of fishing we were able to dock the boat and have some beautiful, well proportioned, delicios food, beers, Chardonnay and 1942 tequila shots . Leslie is super sweet and a super bartender. Enjoyed her conversation. The food is amazing!! The service however is terrible and beware of double charges on your credit card. This has happened several times and calling the establishment will NOT help. Zack the "manager" who assured me would call me back to resolve my problem never did and I've had to contact my bank to let them resolve my $100 plus issue. read more

Cabo is a great place to have a beer and enjoy a water view. They have a great menu. I've tried almost everything on it....Thursday is steak night and it's really good. They also have a fabulous tuna steak on Thursdays. It's a smoking bar so I prefer to sit outside. They also have live bands. Great place to go sit outside when the weather is good. read more

The Crawfish!! The Crawfish is delicious they do all you can eat on Sundays for $30 even though their add in the Scene Magazine says $25 it's still worth it. Your better of going to the bar if you want to grab a drink or order one waitress told me "your going to have to find a different waitress shes your waitress and I'm busy sorry". They have a awesome steak night on Thursdays and it's a really good deal. We ordered two burgers, one with no onions and tomatoes, the other no tomatoes. When I got mine it had two little slivers of onions. So I order some more, when i got the check i was charged 25 cents for open food item. I asked what that charge was and was told for side order of onions. I told server we took three things off our burgers and was told there was nothing she could do. I know 25 cents is nothing but it's the principle of the matter. I was informed by the bouncer of Cabo, that I was not welcome due to having visible tattoos. Nothing vulgar or inappropriate, but visible. Apparently Cabo thinks that they are still in 1950 and can turn people away due to the color, or colors of their skin. read more

Fantastic place if you like your card being charged plus paying cash. Went in there for a few drinks and dinner with 3 coworkers. Put the card down to keep the tab open. After partaking in 2-3 beverages and dinner the tab was closed out and paid for with cash. The next day noticed 2 separate charges on my card from this place. Not only was this done to me but two other coworkers I was with. We all paid cash with no obviously receipt. I went back in and brought this up to the manager thinking something, possibly a meet in the middle kinda thing would have happened. Nope! I was told they put a hold on the amount you had on your card. Not likely at all as I've never heard nor seen an establishment that serves food and beverage hold any amount of money on a bank card. Nice to know that in one night one could spend 250 bucks for dinner and a few beers. I for one will never return as with my coworkers and I hope others are diligent with their hard earned cash as this place seems think they can charge as they wish. read more

The Thursday night steak special is something everyone in the area should feel fortunate to have in their lives. Simply awesome. It's very apparent that the guy manning the grill takes pride in what he's putting out. And when you hear "mixed" or "seasonal" veggies, you usually think "generic frozen mix of carrots, broccoli, etc", so I was Very pleasantly surprised to discover that Cabo's mixed veggies are zuchinni, squash, onions, and garlic...delicious! This was our first New Year in Texas and had no idea what to do, so we decided to go to Cabo since it was close to home and they had an awesome NYE package. . I was super impressed when shortly after we were seated the manager Greg came over and introduced himself and told us if we needed anything he was there and he introduced us to our server Stephanie who was absolutely AMAZING; she was very attentive and kept out drinks full. . Horrible service. Waitress didn't write down the order and food 2as never served. She was one of 3 in our group celebrating her birthday there and didn't get anything. To add insult later on, the waitress over billed my debut card, then asked me if it was OK to leave it over charged, (WTH!!!) I told her "NO" and she was supposed to void it out and return do it. I checked my account this morning and nothing had ever been done. Cabo Clearlake is batting 1000 on crap service, stupid excuses, and accounting mistakes. We (party of 20) were "Unimpressed", most at the party were also unhappy with the service, I was also not happy with the cold tacos. Not planning on ever going back. I almost didn't go to this place after reading these reviews, however I'm glad I did. The smoke was not bad, in fact I was pleasantly surprised that even though people are allowed to smoke inside (a plus for my friends who hate the cold), it was not overwhelming at all. The bartenders were extremely friendly n did more than their share of entertaining us through the night. The manager came up to us a few times n made sure our group was being taken care of, he even at one point placed some heated lamps by us on the patio. Overall I really love Cabo! You may be a little taken back at first because you have to drive around to behind the classic café and the front entrance looks a little uninviting, but stick around and you'll like it here. The downstairs bar is cool, with lots of shade, boat docks and live bands. The upstairs deck overlooking the water is really nice on a pretty day. I love their specials, especially the all you can eat crawfish on Sundays! The tacos, queso, burgers, steaks and wings are great too! The drinks are a little over priced for the amount of alcohol you get, but that happens in a lot of bars. Everyone is very friendly and the wait staff has normally been very good. It is a little strange that a waitress waits on tables inside and outside, so sometimes if they get really busy the service gets a little slow. The food has always came out really fast though. They do get really busy on the weekends so come early and stay late!!! Lastly, I don't really like that you can smoke inside the bar, but I normally just hang out on the outside decks, so it doesn't bother me too much. read more

I like this place a lot. The best view on the lake, freindly staff, and the food is legit. This is one of my go to places to take people from out of town for a water front experience. The cons: On weekend nights, cabo is definitely looking for quantity over quality. Its a mix of thugs, Jersey shore want to be's, and alcoholic old people. There are usually some good looking girls but you'll have to compete with 6 steroid injecting, affliction wearing dudes to every 1 girl. The majority of girls who go there are looking for this type of guy. Also, the police who patrol this area are a bunch of overzealous 20 year old kids who want revenge for all the wedgies they got in high school. You could be doing everything right; Call a cab, have a DD, etc. but the minute you walk out Cabo's front door you can go to jail just for looking at the cops. I'm not exagerrating at all it has happened to a few of my friends and I see it there all the time. I got all the way up the stairs and a doorman singled me out saying I couldn't get in because my shirt was too LONG and still a no go even if I tucked it in. REALLY!!! Cabo is by far my favorite place to go relax, eat, play ping pong, pool, shuffle board, darts, etc.. (including connect four and jinga, lol, its do much fun) listen to music, hang out with friends and dance. The staff is the best. I have gotten to know Greg because he makes a point to come see how I am doing when I come in. The chef at Cabo (Matt) also comes out to see how I like the food.( which is always good!) I am not really a drinker and bartenders Veronica, Megan, and Cory ( those are the ones I remember there names lol.) always make sure I have a water ready for me when they see me. They always have something funny to say. You can really tell they enjoy their job! Oh and when you go downstairs to the beach ( beautiful water view) Bri is the bartender she is the best. :) Also I noticed on the weekend the security is great to make sure everyone has a drama free night! What started out as a nice alternative to the boring old Sunday watching sports etc. we decided to step out for the day, the acoustic guitar player was refreshing, we went with friends, more friends showed up, before you knew it, was dark outside. Yes we drank, but spaced it out, knowing the tab was going to be expensive. Needless to say the bartenders must of thought we so loaded that they could charge us for everyone in the bar that nights drink. NOT.. we were well aware of what we drank and how many. After three swipes of our credit card I got charged a total of $336.00 and anyone knows that using a debit card it holds onto that money until the credit hits.. I am still waiting for $254.75 to drop off. I will never step back into that place again. I am sure my business won't hurt them, but be cautious of what you spend especially if you with a group. read more

Very disappointed! Attended High school mixer there, at the end of the night my bill was embellished to say the least! Several charges that were not mine - charges for fruit/cherries-$6.00 ?? and about 10 budlites-dont even drink Bud products! On a recent visit a social group we had an member of our group asked to remove his vest because it displayed what they felt was a biker gang. I am a member of a Harley Owners Group and wear my vest when riding and now know I will not be able to enter this establishment. Sadly the case tonight was a veteran wearing his vest with NOTHING to indicate a gang affiliation just that he served in the armed forces. He was ask to remove it or leave and wasn't till he was outside the establishment he voiced his objection in a manner that most veterans would have under the circumstances. They have tried to explain their policy but they have been unable to say they would ask someone wearing a habib, hijab, an LA Dodger hat with a flat bill turned to the side, plaid shirts with chain belts or anything else that gangs identify with to leave? Most bikers today are doctors and lawyers and prominent people in society and this is a sad policy to say the least. They chose to profile this VETERAN based only on his vest and nothing more. Be cautious if you choose to enter this place regardless of its so called veteran ownership because they profile individuals based solely on appearance. NEVER AGAIN will I or any of my family grace this establishment. read more
