For dinner I got the chimichanga with chicken. This was actually very tasty and I enjoyed every bite I had. It even tasted great the next day when I heated it up. Came here after leaving another spot, wanting some music and more drinks. We sat at a table outside. Had some modelos which were a decent price, nice ice cold beer never broke my heart. The decor here is nice, good loud music, a nice big bar, I think they had multiple bars, but we didn't make it to far into the place cause it was pretty packed. To start, the server was really nice, which is always appreciated, and we left a nice gratuity for him, in spite of the issues at Cabo. The Sangria was some kind of mix that had no alcohol in it, side of guacamole was good, main courses were not good, the chicken fajita my wife ordered came with about 3 pieces of chicken. I was just appalled by this place. The bartender checked my id and after a few moments of not believing my out of state Id, she said I needed another form of id and that was store policy. If it was store policy. Why not ask me right when you saw the id if it was store policy. Then I notice this girl making drink and as per the photo this is where she would get the glasses to serve drinks. Then while you working you have one glove on and the other off. To work while using your phone and itching your bare skin ankle and hair on your head you proceed to serve drinks and food without switching gloves or washing hands. I did not reply and as she walked away she said "this guy is crazy" and "he is fucking wild". So I see the staff here has no respect. Normally I'm not the person to leave a bad review. I understand there are businesses out here trying to do their best during a hard time. But this is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I have been to. And to be clear I have already expressed my concerns to the main host. The food was okay at best literally. This was the best okay food I've ever had in my life. Also this is the first time I was ever hungry ate and felt full yet not satisfied all at the same time. If I had to compare this place to a TV show it would be Futurama. Futurama had its moments don't get me wrong but I never met a person that's saidFuturama was the best show ever. What finally convinced me to give it a two-star rating was the exceptionally bad service upon which I had to ask for my waiter's attention almost every time he passed the table. And to top it off just for an FYI they charge for seltzer water. They charge $3.50 for seltzer water. If this restaurant was a marvel movie it would be Spider Man 2 the one everyone hated where they ruined venom. This restaurant is Leonardo Di Caprio after Titanic yet before blood diamonds when he was a little creepy and people couldn't identify with him anymore. If this review were based purely on their drinks it would probably be a little closer to 4 stars (their frozen margaritas are amazing and I'm not even a big tequila fan), but their food left a good amount to be desired. We started by getting tableside guac for the table- partly because I can never say no to fresh guac, partly because you get a free one with a yelp check in. It came quickly but we all agreed it fell very flat- almost like the avocados used weren't quite ripe enough, and nothing they put in could mask that. We couldn't say much because it was free, but I would not have wanted to pay full price (we left a good amount in the bowl... that's when you know.) The best part of this is they brought out more chips for the guac, and their salsa is pretty great. For my meal I got a pulled chicken enchilada, and not too much to say here. The chicken was good, but the red sauce on top was just okay, the rice was undercooked slightly, and the beans were in need of seasoning. Altogether it was still an enchilada so came together nicely, just by no means on the list of ones that I'll go back for seconds. That being said, my friends got the chimichangas and DEVOURED them, so when I go back (the drinks really are that good- especially the Miami vice margarita) I may try that out. If it's just for a drink try to go during happy hour for half-off drinks- such a great deal for what you get, because otherwise they are a little pricey, admittedly. read more

My college girlfriends and I met up at Cabo this past Friday. The place was nice and clean, social distancing rules were followed. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I ordered the coconut encrusted sea bass with rice and beans on one side and tossed salad on the other. I loved the cook on the sea bass, the added coconut flavor was delicious. Overview: We came here for a friend's birthday dinner and shared drinks and appetizers. The restaurant and bar area is super cool, but the service was subpar & the food was just OK. The good: the drinks are expensive for LI standards ($17) but they're worth it: huge, super cool & delicious. They have a ridiculously cool cocktail menu with things like a Swedish fish margarita and Bellini margaritas. I had a peach Bellini margarita- it was SOO good. I wish I hadn't been driving. :) The meh: we had to take plates & silverware/napkins from another table, because they gave us table side guacamole (free with Yelp check in!) without any plates or chips. We had to ask for water multiple times. We were asking different people for different things and they would all come out slowly & at different intervals. The table side guacamole & chips were good (they both needed salt). And, the quesadillas were fine, but nothing special. We had to wait a little for the waitress to come over for extra sour cream. Overall, though-- I think this is definitely a wayyyy better bar for drinks with friends versus dinner. There's music, a good vibe and lots of bar area to stand or sit. How do you give no stars? Can we get an app update.....? Sitting down I noticed roaches running around, ummm ok I guess it's New York. But then I saw a rat, and I'm sure if there's one there are more to come, or at least maybe the ninja turtles might show up. This place seems to really be about frozen margaritas and labeled as Mexican food, but I couldn't find a single Mexican thing in the menu. Unless of course you are under the assumption that los Cabo's caters to white Karen's in Mexico, but they couldn't even get that right. Regardless I stayed for comical relief at this point. The chicken in my food seemed rubbery, I couldn't even eat it I should have known better than to order food at this point but I went for it. Music from the DJ was blasting vibrating the windows and as the people seemed drunker from sugary drinks they stopped caring about the roaches and mice I'm sure. I noticed one of the managers dressed like he was in Miami during the times of cocaine cowboys, because while yelling at his staff it seemed like he was on drugs. I didn't even bother to complain because I'm sure if they have roaches mice and a manager on cocaine this place can't even be saved by John Taffer. Regardless I'll be watching bar rescue for a possible episode of this place in the years to come. read more

She also ordered a burrito bowl with a choice of chicken, pork or steak. She stated she wanted it with chicken. The waitetress replied with grilled chicken and my wife said yes. When we got the bill there was an $8 dollar up charge for grilled chicken. When we bought it to her attention she stated it comes with pulled chicken not grilled. Went to a going away party here! I'm not sure the cost, but the person who was throwing it gave us all a bracket and it got us free beer, wine, margaritas for 3 hours. Everything was awesome! Definitely a great idea for a casual little party. But the ambiance in the back was perfect with the couch by the fireplace and the tables. I was definitely underdressed and my boyfriend was wearing, jeans and a t shirt. A bouncer did come over to him and tell him to take his hat off so they take their dress code seriously in some respect. He was the only guy there not wearing a shirt with a collar.
