Ambiance: Super close to the beach and dogs are allowed in their patio. Staff were very friendly and got our dog a chilled water bowl. Food: We had queso which was yummy and the chicken bowl with extra chicken. It was delicious. Would definitely recommend it. Parking: Finding free parking so close to the beach is a bit tricky. I went here with my family and it was a little pricey but what isn't in Virginia! The food was absolutely fantastic! The whole time I was eating my food I couldn't believe how flavorful and delicious it was. The server was kind however could've been a little faster since it was a slow day... they don't tell you about the added 18% gratuity for dine in checks, they have it written very small on a sign outside. Not too sure about this place if it's just average or a bit above. Went here today for lunch and got a lime berry mule to start. They were quick with the service, and my group and I also had their chipotle salsa. The mule was good, not very berry forward, but still refreshing. As for the salsa, it wasn't enough, but had good flavor. Luckily, the chips were seasoned as well. When it came down to entrees I got their avocado crab salad, my boyfriend ordered their steak Philly cheesesteak, and my friend got their brisket burrito. The salad looked great, and they filled the halved avocado shells with a mix of pico, avocado, and crab meat, which was unique and interesting. As for the salad's taste, it was good, I enjoyed the blend of everything. However, I don't feel like I got enough crab. I got minuscule pieces and really had to search for them. When I tried a piece on its own it had no flavor, which was quite disappointing. I mean, it's in the name, you would think you would taste it. Not worth the $20 in my opinion. As for the burrito, my friend said it was good, definitely not a handheld thing though. Lastly, the cheesesteak. It had good flavor, and was a bit messy, not a typical cheesesteak, but nice nonetheless. The meat was sliced nice and thin, and the meat itself was tender and seasoned well. The cheese sauce was gooey and orange, not very fake tasting, and enjoyable. The bread used was soft, crisped, and plump, which made for a good bite. The fries it came with were a good amount and crispy too. They were surprisingly light and airy, not dense, and much like chips, you could keep eating them till they're gone. Something worth noting was that when I went up to see where the restrooms were, my boyfriend noticed one of the male workers checking out my backside, which made me not want to get up anymore after that. As for next time I come here I'll try something else on the menu to see if things are still about average, for now just a little bit disappointed. read more

We were wandering by the beach and really wanted a hardy meal. I really enjoyed this restaurant because it had high ceilings and lots of space. It also had something on the menu for everyone. I ended up getting the mixed taco platter and was extremely impressed with all three choices, mixed drinks were also very delicious and had the perfect amount of alcohol. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. She adjusted well to people showing late for our party and had no issue separating our checks. We will definitely come in the future. read more

We stayed at a hotel close by so picked here to easily walk to dinner. Atmosphere was pretty cool and nice small outdoor area as well. I ordered the fish sandwich and the fillet is so big you'd probably be able to make two sandwiches out of it. Husbands got an all meat platter and it was good, just a lot of food. Daughter got shrimp tacos and a side of rice, again pretty good (she's rather picky). Starburst martini was amazing. Best part was our very attentive server! He did an amazing job with our table and taking care of many others around us. Would probably go back and try more things. read more

After waiting for quite some time, and hearing the table next to us asking for their server because they hadn't come around in awhile, we decided to leave. Was looking for a place that had a patio and was dog friendly, so we settled with Cactus Jack's. Employees were really accommodating and allowed us to sit outside with our dog. We ordered nachos for the appetizer, a chicken bowl and crab cake sandwich as entrees and also a side of Spanish rice. The nachos and entrees were good, however it is on the pricier side. I felt that my chicken bowl wasn't too large in quantity. The Spanish rice was ok, it had a weird aftertaste for me but could be personal preference. Service is really slow (I get it, "everybody" is short staffed) we sat on the patio and it's not only about 4 tables with ppl at them. We were excited to find Tex-Mex with outdoor seating. When I arrived the hostesses didn't seem to know where to put us, so I just stood there waiting. A manager had to come over to figure out where we could sit. The whole thing was strange because there were plenty of table available outside. After we finally got our table we waited about 10-15 minutes before I had to go ask of we had a server. The manager came out and told me the waitress was on a personal call. I get that things come up, but no one else was sent to even take our drink order. The menu has plenty of options, and I appreciated they allowed me to sub a vegetable for fries on the kids menu. The food was decent, I enjoyed my fajita bowl but nothing stuck out too much. If you chance it just be ready for a longer wait. read more

WORST FOOD we ever ate. My husband will eat just about anything and he thought it terrible. He got the quesadilla and all he could taste was cheese. I got the burrito bowl and forced down a couple bites. It was cold and I can't even describe how nasty it tasted. My husband tasted it and also thought itwas awful. Turns out there is a !8% gratuity fee right off the top. I figured it was a very high tip considering tips used to be given in respect to the service received. Anyhow, we asked for the check and the waitress is humbled by having to tell us she only gets 12% of the gratuity. We paid $9.00 for the salsa and chips, $14.00 for the quesadilla. $16.00 for the Burrito Bowl, $3.00 for a Pepsi. Plus $9.00 for the "gratuity". This place was overpriced even if the food had been edible. It was chilly out so we asked for indoor seating. The TV was SO LOUD we had to move outside. The fish (tuna) tacos and shrimp tacos were amazing. They weren't quite what I'm used to from other places, but they were still super delicious. We also ordered some chips and salsa--we got the pico de gallo "salsa" since I don't like spicy, but we're pretty disappointed in it. I was expecting something salsa-like, but this was just very plain, boring pico de gallo. Which is what we ordered, so that's kinda on us. I'll know better next time. Steven assisted us with deciding on what to order, he was very informative. The fries were well done and not too crispy and the crabcake tastes good with the chipotle sauce - GO FOR IT! I requested my sauce on the side but it was really tasty. Since it was my birthday Steven offered me desert and my mom started singing! Before I knew it the entire restaurant was singing and cheering, it was too cute and made for a good time and a pleasant atmosphere. Colorful, clean, friendly staff! Excellent food! We went for lunch. Nick was our waiter and he was timely with taking our order and checking to see if we needed anything. I enjoyed a chicken bowl which had the most tender chicken pieces, beans rice, red pepper onion and queso. Unlike any bowl I've ever had. Yum.
