Started with the Sampler appetizer which included batter coated & fried broccoli with a sesame/teriyaki sauce (outstanding!), Fried Halibut nuggets (also amazing) & some crab dip that is some of the best I've eaten. For meal we had wild berry salad, traditional italian calzone & ettouffe with shrimp, Halibut, mussels and cheesy grits - all 3 very, very good. This place is a must stop. Passing thru town and hungry - wife read reviews and keyed it into the navigation app. I pulled in and went RU sure? We took a winger and we were blown away by the food. The smoked salmon chowder was ***** (5 star). I had a burger that was cooked to perfection internally (MR) and had a beautiful crust. My wife enjoyed the hot Turkey club. My fiancé who is from Wasilla brought me here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was! The portions are large, the service is friendly, and the food is seriously delicious! WOW! This little hole in the wall gem is well worth the drive from Anchorage to try. Our waitress Danielle was hustling all over the place and was so sweet and friendly. There are about 8 booths in this small little cafe attached to a gas station but they put out incredible food. We had the smoked salmon chowder and the french dip that actually has home made from the meat au jus and not some bottled fake stuff. Both items were excellent and the prices good for the huge quantity provided. I took home the curry salad and it was full of romaine, cashews, red grapes and chicken. The dressing was so good and I would love to have the recipe. We also took home one of their homemade pieces of pie-apple and cherry combo with a crumble topping that was very big and good enough for two meals and was delicious. The food was great, you get a lot of it, the prices were very reasonable, and the service was excellent. We've had the halibut and fries, which was 6-7 nice sized pieces and a lot of fries for $17 and really yummy. We've had the poutine every time we've gone, $7 and really good and large enough to be a meal. We've also had the brisket sandwich, which was large enough to share, especially with the poutine first and the calzones, which are very large, taking up the entire plate, and they've always been excellent. It's just a whole in the wall place, attached to a gas station, with probably 10-15 tables and booths, max, but don't let that fool or deter you. The food, prices and service are outstanding, and well worth giving it a try. We've never had a bad meal or bad service, and highly recommend it. They have a good and varied menu, with pizza, calzones, tacos, salads, appetizers and sandwiches, etc, a little something for everyone. Also, they do take out. Enjoy! read more

Drove here with friends after hunting on yelp for a good burger. We were starving after kayaking and hiking. The interior was cozy and pleasant and the service was prompt and friendly. I was trying to decide between the brisket sandwich and the bacon burger and the waitress suggested I add the brisket to the burger for $4 more. Great decision. My burger and fries was amazing. My husband and friend each got the chili burger and it was a huge portion and they both loved it. Another friend got the Philly cheesesteak and that was great too. I am a regular local customer who supported them during COVID. I will say good food and a great price. My issue is the hostess/waitress. Instead of taking orders over the phone for takeout she just takes it off the hook and doesn't take phone orders. She is much happier to get larger tips from dine in patrons. When I drove down to find out why the phone wasn't working, I was told that was a normal practice when they were busy. I'm pretty sure busy isn't 7 guests total spread over 3 tables. It's a cute little place. The dessert was really good. For $5, they will give you a big slice of pie of your choices. The selections changes depending what ingredients are available.
