It is a bit hotter than the inside, but that's because it has more sunlight hitting the room. For the wine tasting, we got one white and three reds. Makes sense since we were in Paso and they're famous for their big bold reds. I did enjoy their cabernet sauvignon the most in the tasting, however the puors were less than an oz, which was just enough to get a sip in. I was disappointed in that especially as a potential buyer looking to get understand the wine a bit more than a two sipper. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A wine tasting of four wines with a very miniscule tasting pours was around $40.

I wanted to squeeze in a wine tasting anywhere while she did some browsing at the stores, and her last comment was "just make sure they are kid-friendly." I wasn't going to stop at Hope on Park, even though the aesthetics of the wine tasting bar are really appealing, just because in the past I haven't always super loved the flagship cabernet that is distributed everywhere and the place was so nice, it didn't seem kid-friendly. However, the host, Alli, was so friendly and engaging that I paused to reconsider. Once she mentioned that it was also legal to take the wine to the park, as long as you had a lid, I was in, as I had an escape plan if it didn't work out with my family!! From that point on, it was a really fun and magical tour of the entire lineup of Austin Hope--with many really enjoyable whites and reds. Alli also offered up revisits and other bottles that weren't in the lineup...and she was super knowledgeable about all the wines, since that is what she is studying at school. When my wife came with our son, Alli also really engaged both of them with both the wine lineup and juice for my son, being really kind and generous to both of them and I could tell they both really liked her as well. So, this ended up being the perfect spot! I guess my instincts were right!! Of course, we were going to buy a couple of bottles to get the tasting fee waived and to repay her for her kindness...however, we loved the experience and her so much, we ended up buying the two most expensive bottles there.

They have a big tv behind the bar area that you can request sports games on - we watched the World Cup game! The best part of our experience was engaging with the locals. The wonderful people we met - both working here and returning customers are clearly so connected as a community and were very welcoming to us out-of-towners. Next time, I'd come back and picnic under the trees and buy a few bottles of their standard wines for $25. I didn't really care for the funkier wines served in the wine tasting room. Recently, we came back for a mini reunion and made Eberle a place where our party of 8 could relax, unwind, and reminisce of yesteryears while enjoying the beautiful views from the covered vineyard deck, and needless to say we absolutely had a blast! The tasting experience was still complimentary thanks to the blessed heart of Mr. Gary Eberle (thank you kind Sir), who also happened to grill up some delicious meats and smoked sausage that day (Santa Maria style), which was the perfect pairing to his wines. Special mention to Stephanie, who did an phenomenal job guiding us through the last cave tour of the day...and Mr. Eberle, she truly did your story justice (and then some!). WOW! I heard him mention this tasting room in downtown Paso to a couple sitting a few seats down, but never got there, opting for other "larger" wineries. However, since walking through the door in June 2025, I feel Bushong is one of the best Paso Robles has to offer and really like what Jason says, "We're not focused on making more and more, but making better and better." The tasting room is located half a block off the square at 12th St & Spring St. a very easy walk across Spring, if you are visiting other tasting rooms in town. Jason, the winemaker and Mike, mister "does everything else" serve up some great wines! Walking through the door it feels as if you are walking into someone's living room. The wall opposite the entrance is a wall full of vinyl (that's records, Gen Z). Willing to spin whatever you are in the mood to listen to. The wine names are all music related, as are the labels. Specializing in red blends, Jason does an excellent job getting the most out of each varietal used to create a symphony of flavor in each bottle. The tasting run $25 per person, but is waved with the purchase of two bottles. You taste your way through the lighter offerings, a white and rose before moving on to the red blends and possible the 23 year old cream sherry. So lovely! Everything he bottles has been excellent. I've been very impressed with the quality considering the size of his boutique winery, but really becoming a fan of these smaller operations because of what they produce time after time. When in Paso, make a reservation with Jason or Mike and get into Bushong. Some of the best wine I have tasted in Paso. I highly recommend it!

I figured we would be seated but the tasting occured standing up at the bar, which was fine. The tastings were generous, and customizable. My friend decided to do a white tasting, and I did the standard tasting. It was pretty hot, so about halfway through the tasting, we sat down at a table in the shade and walked up for the rest of our tastings but by that time, a large group had come through so the server was busier but still managed to remember where we were in the tasting. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. When we were done with our tastings, we walked around the property to look at the sculptures and the grounds. I did buy a bottle of wine and picked it up inside where they had other items for sale from local vendors, including our server who makes soap with her goat's milk.

Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!
