#19. Baked Coconut Chicken Portuguese Style on Rice
    Hubert Y.

I came with a couple of coworkers on my first visit and it turned out to be ok for a newly opened place. Got seated right away, service was friendly. Got the Seafood Chow Mein, and found it quite sparse (maybe because I was quite hungry) but taste-wise, it's average, nothing out of the ordinary. They were able to do separate bills which is always the preferred when dining with coworkers. A month later, we came for our second visit, however, the service seemed to have gone awry. We had a group of six and got seated at the only table for six in the middle of the room right away. Then a few minutes later, another server asked us if we had reservations and we said no. She told us that this table for six is for *person's name* and she wanted us to move. We were like, ok, move us where? She left and came back a few minutes later and said it's ok. Fast forward to ordering--from the get go we asked for separate bills and the server said no problem. After taking our orders, the items starting to come. The drinks that came were all wrong which is fine, we just had to tell them what each of use ordered again. Then the soups that came with out food came, also wrong, so had to tell them what we ordered again. Then the food started to come one by one. I chose the Mix & Match (Mixed Grill) option of Pan fried Chicken Steak + Cutlet Fish Fillet, got the fries, black pepper sauce and cream soup. Hands down, the better value compared to the Seafood Chow Mein I had on my first visit. OR maybe I was just really hungry again. Would I order this again? Probably. Now that everyone finally got what they ordered... and more -- there was hair in one of the dishes. And no, it's not from my coworker's because she's blonde and the hair is black. So we informed one of the servers. She was quite apologetic and told us that she would comp the meal and asked if my coworker would like a new one. Since she's 2/3 in, she's pretty much done and don't want one. After we're done with our meal, we asked for the bill (a number of times). Somehow they just never got around to bringing the bill. And because we had to head back to work soon, we finally got up pay up front. When we got up there, we were told that the server had issues separating the bill. I don't know how it was entered but the items on the bill was all over the place. With the long line up behind and people trying to get a table, I just told them that I would just pay for the whole thing. In the end, we were over charged for the drinks we never ordered. But that's ok. Mistakes happen. New establishment and they're still working out the kinks. I just hope the next visit will be better. I'm hopeful.

He got a Blueberry Slushy drink and the wheel cake had red bean inside. Drinks are always solid at Peanuts and on the more affordable side too given what many other places will charge for bubble tea drinks these days. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of his wheel cake but that's no fault of the shop. Red bean is something I'm generally not crazy about to begin with. I have learned over the years that I can appreciate red bean as a bubble tea drink if it's all blended up. However, it's the chunks of bean that I don't like, and this wheel cake had chunks of bean in it. Might have gone over better with me if it had been filled with a smooth, red bean paste...no chunks of bean in it. That's just personal preference though. If you're someone who enjoys red bean paste and don't mind chunks, then you might enjoy this Taiwanese wheel cake.

I won't spoil the beans for everyone that's looking to visit. Service: it gets quite busy at times. I wouldn't say the service is very prevalent, as they are focused on the art of roasting beans and optimizing taste buds, which was well received from this visit. Ambiance: it is very inviting, no one feels out of place, limited seating, nonetheless , it is not the worst, the set up of the taste flight really sets this establishment apart from other coffee maisons.

It's also connected with Fife bakery so there are plenty of delicious pastries to try as well! The barista there was very nice and took the time to casually chat with customers whenever there was a lull, and the general atmosphere felt very calming. The only concern is how small the place is. Although I managed to get a seat, the place was almost entirely full and felt a little crowded with just around 5-10 people. But the seats are cute and also feature hanging hooks for jackets and bags which I loved very much!! Makes everything so much more convenient. All in all, a very great cafe to sit and chat with a friend over a cup of coffee~

In today's world, I don't blame them that everything is shrinking in portion, especially when it's free . They didn't have the flavor of the month so it was only matcha or vanilla. My toddler wanted to eat too so we had to stick to vanilla. They also offered complementary powder: a choice of matcha, hojicha or kinako (roasted soy bean). I picked the kinako for my toddlers sake. I haven't bought a soft serve in a few year so I'm not sure whether purchased soft serves have shrunk in size as well.

Service was very quick, and cashier was super friendly and was giving off positive vibes. In terms of the drink itself, it was slightly more bitter then I'm used to. And remember to mix your drink well, as it was pretty clumpy and wasn't whisked very well - hoping that it was a one off.
