Let's get this out of the way first. The $30 watermelon soju has a nice wow factor, but you have to know when to order it. How would you know? Well, if you see the waitress and bartenders eating cut watermelon on the side then you have a good chance of getting a fresh watermelon bowl. Otherwise, you'll be drinking out of a recycled watermelon that's been served to others who-knows-how-many-times-before. There's easily a dozen and a half other flavored soju at half the price, plus a half dozen $6 Duck Butt shots as alternatives. Drink out of that watermelon at your own risk. For me, it's about the very good dive bar selection of whiskies, neighborhood blue collar workers, a nicely curated k-pop playlist, and solid happy hour pupus. My favorite is the chive pancake, buchujeon , $7 at happy hour. The whole chives are laid out in parallel lines, the batter is spread thinner and made crisper with more oil upon request. I will take the four crisp corners for myself with some gochujang dipping sauce, cho-gochujang , and give you the softer four middle pieces to eat with the accompanying vinegar soy, cho-ganjang . Don't try to take my corner pieces, I'm warning you! There are straightforward kimchee fried rice, house fried chicken, and ahi poke options at $9 for happy hour, but easily overlooked is a humble steamed egg pot, gyeran jjim , for only $5 at happy hour. The soft egg with broth in an earthen pot is comfort food when you're not at your best. Just be understanding about multiple spoons dipping into the pot - it's totally okay with me if I know you. Off the regular menu the taco trio is usually good. I stick with the spicy pork, served with kimchi cucumber, pickled red onion, red leaf lettuce, cilantro. The bulgogi ones are also good, in a Koreatown LA/ Gogi foodtruck style. If you want to grind heavy get the kimchee fries - chopped kimchi, bulgogi, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, nacho cheese sauce and sour cream. With the opening of DB Grill out in Kapolei this original might be overlooked. But this a still a friendly divey hangout right in the edge of respectability that suits me. All I can say is OH MAN!!! The food here is BOMB! Yes it's a hole in the wall (which are always the best anyways), a motor sketchy looking at night, but definitely worth it. Not sure what this place is known for except for alcohol. The Passion Fruit Soju was mixed by the waitress. The alcohol content was weak, and it was very sweet. I practically drank over half myself without without feeling the Soju affect, that's how I knew. Haha. The seafood pancake was delicious! Large proportions and it went well with my Soju. I think Duckbutt caters more to the locals, which is the way I like it. They have a few televisions inside playing music videos. But the weird part was the whole cafe had storage boxes everywhere! I assume they don't have a storage room. And there was also a couple of KTV rooms inside with people using it. Not a glamorous place, but it's all good with the homely feeling. Lol. read more

Before beauty school, I have never heard of this place. It's probably been here for a while but I've never had a reason to go. The usual crowd isn't my usual crowd, let's just say that. I'm pretty sure it's a Korean bar with drinks of course, good food and karaoke. All the mix ins for a good time with good peeps. There are private rooms, as well as a common area with booths and tables to chill at. The employees are good but I'm sure it all depends on who you are or who you're with. Prices are definitely good for what you get. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to chill here unless it were to hang out with specific friends... But if you're in town, definitely check it out. The -1 star is for their discontinued happy hour for the food (for now). But they still have happy hour for the soju 5-8pm daily and the BEST Kim chi pancake on the island. Our favorites sojus that night were the lilikoi and calpico. The lihing gummy bear soju was too sweet and didn't have enough of that tart lihing. The Korean spicy chicken was delish, though not as spicy as I hoped for. Service was better than usual and on point. They have a new manager (I think named Toa) and he was sooo friendly and helpful. Great place to reserve a karaoke room (either 5-8pm or 8-11pm) because (1) it's free, (2) you just have to pay $1 per song and (3) there's no minimum you have to spend on food and drinks. read more

Great place to go with friends. Food was amazing. It came out hot and it all tasted so good. We had a small party for 11 of us and we all enjoyed it. I'm leaning between a 4.5 and a 4.75 for this review! Why not five stars? After visiting several karaoke bars on island, I can say that I'm keen towards the modern, clean looking interior of some of the other bars I've seen. Also, we received not-so-thrilled looks when only three of us showed up in CDB's largest private karaoke room that holds up to 15 people! That's understandable, considering other large parties. What are the chances that the majority decides to flake? Ugh haha! Still, I love CDB's song selection, Happy Hour menu, karaoke machines that take up to $20 bills ($1/song), cool spray paint designs around the bar's exterior, and free, efficient valet parking service! Reservations are in three hour blocks: 5-8 pm, 8-11 pm, or 11 pm-2 am. Get the $30 watermelon soju and the sweet taro soju, which tastes like an adult cookies and cream drink! The chive pancake, kimchi fried rice, and chicken wings were all delicious. I really wanted to try the spicy pork belly, but I had to cater to my friend who has no heat tolerance..boo haha! Everything mentioned except the watermelon soju is part of the Happy Hour menu, 5-8 pm! Thanks to CDB's special location, I learned that the surrounding area in Kaka'ako is some sort of bar district. So yes, this area is great for bar crawls or renting those Paradise Pedals! I will be back at night for more karaoke, and in the daytime to check out that graffiti art. You gotta come for the watermelon soju that's served in a hallowed out half watermelon, it's definitely a crowd pleaser! They have a couple of side rooms to do karaoke in and otherwise a bunch of booths in this usually crowded bar. I've been here a few times where they're blasting K pop with the music videos up on the screen which is always entertaining but they also play some good current American music so you never know what you're going to get. Duck Butt has been around forever! They must have been around for at least 10 years now? I'm actually surprised I haven't written a review for here sooner. I love coming here because of the food and of course soju. They have private karaoke rooms available, but they fill up fast so reserve in advance. They are mostly known for their watermelon soju (served in a cut watermelon). This is a great party drink to share with friends. The food here is a winner too! Went here for the first time with some of my braddahs. Based on other yelpers recommendations, we ordered the $30 Watermelon soju (I thought it was ok, a lot of pulp sludge and alcohol not a factor), kalbi tacos (came in 3 and looked pretty lol, but little meat that I tasted most veggies), and the cheesy bacon fries (typical heart attack fries with cheese and bacon). Happy hour is from 6PM-8PM which was nice. We ordered the fried chicken (small pieces, but very juicy and flavorful), fresh poke (didn't taste that fresh, but the sauce that's used to drizzle over it was tasty), kimchee fried rice (small portion with an egg, but delicious), kimchee pancake (kinda weird for us since we've never eaten anything like it), and the mochiko chicken (typical mochiko chicken that you can buy anywhere, but flattened and sprinkled with furikake) off of the happy hour. The parking is horrendous especially if it's a weekend. This rating was kind of based on our waitress whom I totally forgot to get her name. The place was slow at first and we got our orders in, but the only time she'd stop by was when she delivered our food and soju. We waited a long time for water, and we tried to order more food, but she rarely came so we decided to call it a night. We were there about 2 hours and she stopped by a total of 2 times. The mens restroom had a weird setup too. The way the mirror to wash your hands is angled with the urinal that has no divider, someone can see me pissing lol. At first I was by myself pissing and I glanced over at the sink only to see myself lol. Then I go and wash my hands looking in the mirror and I unintentionally seen a guy pissing in that same urinal LOL. Maybe put up a divider thingy or something. Overall, this is a hole-in-the-wall bar plays Korean music and karaoke is available. Cafe Duck Butt? Apparently that's a colloquialism for Cafe Assholes. Do not recommend. Avoid. Pros: fun vibe, close to work, shockingly tasty food. (Really, I had zero expectations for bar food and was pleasantly surprised.) Cons: soju drinks are criminally overpriced and absolutely watered down -- at least for our table of obvious out-of-towners. Four of us ordered two pitcher drinks, one watermelon and one of the other fruit flavors. We each probably did 10 shots EACH in the 90 minutes we were there - of supposed *SOJU* - and basically....nothing. The pleasantly drunk (local) guy at the table next to ours gave us all a round of shots from his pitcher of the same flavor and boy, there was more booze in that one shot than my previous 10 combined. So yeah, at $20-$30 per pitcher of glorified fruit juice, you are getting reamed right in *your* duck butt. At least if you aren't a local, anyhow. Super disappointing, and I'm pissed off. I normally don't write reviews but came here with my friends for karaoke-- asked to see if we could get a room and the server/host rolled her eyes and was like well we could only do a couple hours-- when I thought they closed at 2am? We got there around 9pm... Anyway, the girl who was serving us was super rude and her facial expressions were just not pleasant. On top of that the rooms were FREEEEEZING!! Like literally 40 degrees and we had to get blankets and jackets from the car. Server lady said they couldnt turn down the AC bc its an old building?! Yes Cafe Duck Butt, that's really their name. Intriguing enough to make you stop in and see what it's all about. My friend Nadine convinced me to try Café Duck Butt and I knew better to argue! If she was recommending this place it had to be cool! When we entered the karaoke bar it was super crowded, and filled with locals. Since I'm from Los Angeles I enjoyed the authenticity of the bar. Hanging with locals was a nice change since I had mostly been with tourists my whole vacation. I imagine most tourists won't know about this place. One of my favorite things about this place was they had bomb hip pop music! First hip hop I heard in Hawaii! It set the mood perfectly. Thankfully Nadine had reserved seating for us, because a lot of people were standing and who wants to do that for hours. I did take a look at the menu and they had a lot of interesting items that I wanted to try but I was stuffed. It was too bad because the food looked better than the Luau buffet we just came from. However, I did try some of the fried chicken that the table ordered and it was good. Nothing looked too expensive and I was really digging the vibe inside. There was a karaoke stage but it was empty. No singing on the main stage that night. I did catch people doing karaoke in individual booths, they had their own private room. I will say Café Duck Butt has a lot of flavor and the decor is unusual but entertaining. They had post-it notes all over the walls near the bathroom and a funky duck that was decorated for Christmas. As for the drinks...this was a bar! Their most popular drink was the watermelon soju. It's $30 and it looked like it could get a whole table drunk. I have been here twice now. The first time, I didn't try the food, just the watermelon soju, which was pricey but excellent. The second time, we tried both food and lava flow soju. First visit: we came here after doing some bar hopping. One plus is that after all the other bars/breweries close for the night (around 10pm or something) this place is still open. We got in right in time. It was a Saturday and it was packed. You could hear people singing in rooms because this is also a karaoke place. The server quickly informed us the kitchen was already closed and we had a short amount of time before they would close for drink orders too. We came with a friend who had been there many times before. He recommended his fave: the watermelon soju. It was pricy but delicious. It tasted like it had real watermelon juices with the soju and did not taste artificial at all. I think we ordered two. The containers didn't feel like it contained very much flavored soju for $30 a piece. It was mostly filled with ice and comes with little shot glasses for you to drink. The atmosphere itself was loud from both the music videos from the tv and people chatting and laughing. The lights were dimmed but still bright enough. The place was packed. As mentioned, I returned, but with a friend. Second visit: We came close to 6pm on a Wednesday. There was maybe 1 other table at the time. We ordered the lava flow soju, which was a very artificially flavored strawberry and melona mix. I did not care for it at all. For $20, it is the same size as the water container they serve and had a lot of ice. I can't remember how long it took for it to come out, but what was memorable was how long it took for our food to come out. We ordered a scallion pancake. It took so long for it to come. It felt like they made it from scratch with how long it took. The scallion pancake was really good though. The texture was both soft and crispy. It wasn't burnt. It was cut up into bite sizes. The scallion flavor did not overwhelm. The sauce was a soy sauce mix (I think) and was kind of savory and sweet and tangy. We also decided to order a Kim chi fried rice. It came with a sunny side up egg over a perfectly mounded bed of Kim chi fried rice. This dish was not spicy at all. You could barely taste the kimchi. It was good but not sure I would order this again. This is not really a place to take anyone out on a first date, but more like somewhere where you would go with friends to relax and chill. Or to sing karaoke in the private rooms, or to just spend time talking and drinking and eating, slowly because everything takes forever to come to you. I would go back to try the taro soju. Fun experience tonight with the gals. Came in early on a Sunday night and asked for a karaoke room. The hostess let us know that we'd probably have an hour. If it gets busy, they'd have to give our room to a bigger group. I'm so thankful they let us stay. We got the Iilikoi and guava sojus--so yummy. The food we ordered was also delish: chicken wings, kimchee fries (small pieces of bulgogi on fries with choke cheese + sour cream and heap of jalapeños), and spicy gizzards. I wish the spiciness was done with a spicy rub for the gizzards and not sauce, but we finished the whole thing. I'll try the garlic gizzards next time. We loved the wings so much we ordered another. My cousins devoured most of the second plate and left me one wing. When I bit into it, I noticed it was undercooked. I told our waitress and the manager was nice enough to take it off our check despite my cousins eating most of the plate. Overall verdict: the food is ono. It does take a while to come, so don't come starving. Songs are easy to find if you download the app--no more flipping through pages of a karaoke book! Staff is very nice and were helpful when we had trouble with the karaoke machine. $2 a song, and a 20% is included when using the rooms. read more

But she says the food is amazing! So I drive up and they have free valet! Which is a cool thing cuz they don't have a parking lot. We made reservations because my friend said they get packed! So if your going for dinner make sure you do make reservations! They have four private kareoke rooms. $1 per song. You can order drinks and food in the rooms as well! The ambiance was very hip. They have tv's everywhere, with Korean music videos playing. It was clean and the waiters were very attentive. Now to my favorite part the food and the drinks! Sooooo good! We ordered the yogurt soju and it's a creeper! It will definitely creep up on you, you won't even know you are getting drunk cuz it tastes so good! We also had Kim chee pancakes and fried chicken wings! Both were so so so good! I would definitely order those again. The serving size is large. Both were on the happy hour menu as well! Score! Had the best time here singing karaoke with my friends! I called to make a reservation for a karaoke room and they have time slots from 5-9 and 9-12. We decided to do the 9-12 time slot and I would highly recommend making a reservation since their rooms go fast. Their soju cocktails were delicious, we had the yogurt, lilikoi, and strawberry, my fav being the strawberry. Food was also very tasty, I would recommend the kimchi fries and spicy Korean wings. Food did take a while to make, but I'm not sure if that was because we ordered later in the night. They had a pretty big song selection, Korean and English songs. The room was free to book and each song is $2. Make sure to bring cash for the karaoke machine. Only bummer was the our last song repeated the song we did before and so we had to sing the same song twice and it used our last $2. Oh well, still had a great time and great service. Karaoke is good for you! I don't care if you're tone deaf or don't have a sense of rhythm! Just do your best with the singing gifts that you were given. That's all that matters. No one is perfect! There's no judging! I came to Cafe Duck Butt in the Kaka'ako district of Honolulu a while ago for the food. At that time, my girlfriends and I enjoyed the conversation with the bartender as we were seated at the bar. The lounge area was packed and the food was good! This time, I brought my former coworkers. We've celebrated each others' birthdays for over ten years now. They are really sweet girls and I hate to corrupt them, but hey...they need to get out and experience life, right?! They are amazed at what I've learned because of Yelp! Hahaha! I had to tell them about the sketchy, industrial area (no sidewalks) and the valet parking. I have an old car, so I parked on the street. I was really lucky to find a space! My friends are kind of "high maintenance" girls, so they used the valet. LOL! It was a busy Friday night and Café Duck Butt doesn't take room reservations after 7pm. I still wanted to go there, so I told my friends, "Let's chance 'em"! We got there at about 8pm and... Voila! They had an open room which was available until 10:30pm. ..perfect! We're so fortunate to get a free room! Wow! Thank you!! It's just a dollar a song - feed the cash into the machine and enter the song numbers into the remote control! Easy! The song selection isn't as good as other places, so minus one star. Also, the machine didn't seem to be able to store songs, so I had to input them in one at a time after each song was completed. Hmmm - a bit inconvenient... The service was as good as can be. The female staff seemed new, so she had to ask another guy to help her get us set up. We had to ask for more glasses, how to work the machine, etc. The server did point out the phone that we could use to call the bar staff. The napkins, paper plates and chopsticks were in the room already, along with the sticky song books and the microphones. The $30 watermelon soju was what I really wanted - it's a beverage served in a hollowed out half of a watermelon. My friends were thrilled because they had never seen one or heard of it before. They also enjoyed the Seafood Pancake and Mochiko Chicken. I let them eat all of the Kim chee Fried Rice which was too spicy for me. If there was another reason to return, I would only go for a really good friend. The parking and song selection are better elsewhere. DISCLAIMER: This is nothing about the food but specifically about the owner and how they handle things unprofessionally. I was on a debate if I should write this review. I was mad and I'm usually understanding that accidents happen. But what I don't like is when the place has a shady owner. You can't man up and take responsibility for your actions. Avoiding calls and even paying for it. This happened back in mid August. I just bought a car literally hasn't been a week.. Took it here and valet. Why valet you ask? I'm a shitty street parker and I'm Asian haha. But aside of that, I had my friend in the car with me, when I dropped it off it was CLEAN in the front. Hence, I just got it so it was washed! My friend can justify for me. I drop off the car go in and when I come back to get my car, front bumper on passenger corner was muddy... I watched him pull my car out and what seemed like he reversed in... so I wiped off some of the mud.. didn't see a dent and big scratches. It was also late so I left... Because I have OCD, I had to clean it myself the morning of... I washed that part off and saw a DEEP scratch on the very bottom. I called them and the valet guy immediately knew what car I was gonna complain about. (Fishy don't you think?) He told me he didn't know what happened.. Ok fine. Since you work for them... the owner should take responsibility for anything you do. At this time point, I didn't know what to do and being a girl it's hard to get someone to pay for it. I had a friend call for me and at first the owner agreed to pay but after months till this day.. He hasn't gotten a call back from the owner with multiple calls, voicemails and text left. It's too late to take cops down there now since its been months that this happened. The valet guys probably don't even have insurance covered to be driving the cars... Moral of this: don't valet here, they are shady. It was my fault for not calling the cops right then and there. I was also not gonna file with my insurance on a scratch. I guess "Cafe Nice Ass" might attract a different clientele, but according to the guy that works there, "Duck Butt" is like saying "apple bottom" or "nice behind". I was starving and was only there to eat the food (not to sing karaoke or get my drink on), and while I was there, two other families with kids came in, so this place is not your regular "bar" bar scene, at least when I was there at 6pm. PARKING: There's a valet outside, so you don't have to hunt for parking. Why is there a valet for such a small place? I'll tell you why: there is no street parking and he will park your car in the reserved/tow-away stalls and make sure it doesn't get towed. So tip him well, it's worth every penny, because it really sucks to come out of a bar at night only to discover that your car has been towed to Sand Island. CUTE LITTLE PLACE!! The outside was all decorated for Christmas already (I hate you! ONE OF MY FAVORITES PLACE ON THIS ISLAND. I seriously do my best to bring every single group of people I hang with here, even friends and family that are visiting. It isn't a "classy" or "high-end" type of place, but a very good "casual" place. It is a great place to hang with people. It has all my favorite things!!!! KARAOKE ONO-LICIOUS FRIED-CHICKEN ALCOHOL VALET PARKING With all of above, it sounds like a great night to me. They have a good amount of current and old-school karaoke music that will last you hours of enjoyment. I love how they have private rooms too and you pay per song as you go. Unlike some Karaoke Rooms where they charge you $30-$60 an hour and you don't even sing every minute. This way, if you only sing 5 songs in an hour, you only paid 5 bucks and you got to eat and talk stories without wasting money. Also, in the rooms, there are telephones to call the workers and palce food and drink orders with out waving down a person and waiting for them to serve you. The phone this is a great idea. We get a private room to party in and don't get bothered by anyone and call-in orders when we need assistance. Their MUST HAVES: BACON AND CHEESE FRIES: so delish!!!! But its not on there happy hour menu, but I still order it WATERMELON SOJU: I feel like this was the place that made it famous. Since I had it here, I began making it at home FRIED CHICKEN: it is the bombast!!! Best I ever had! Its so tasty and crispy!!!!! I could eat it all day, everyday. SEAFOOD PANCAKES: I just love korean pancakes and i love eating the one from here :) GYOZA: It taste just like regular gyoza, but its so cheap and plentiful! I've always wanted to try this place as I've seen a few of my friends post pictures of this place on Facebook........what really caught my eye about this place is their catchy cute name....."DUCK BUTT". What is a "Duck Butt" anyway? Lol! Finally, for pau hana Tuesday........I finally get a chance to check out this little cafe with my friends - Sharon & Anne. What can I say about this place...........it's basically a Korean Karaoke Bar that serves bar food, & drinks. Aaaah the drinking...........I was reading the reviews from the yelp community, about the Watermelon soju ($30). I knew I had to try it! But what I didn't know, was that I'd end up drinking all the watermelon soju all by myself! Lol! Oh well.........but at least it was really good, and it tasted like I was drinking a watermelon juice drink with a little kick to it.......... Sharon & Anne weren't drinkers, so they ordered a drink that looked like the Watermelon soju, but it didn't have any alcohol in it. Should I say a "Fake Watermelon Soju?" Lol! On to the food............ordered a few pupus, we had the following - Fried Chicken, Edamame (Soy Beans), a Korean kimchee pancake thingy & Kim Chee Fried Rice. I must say I really enjoyed the Fried Chicken! It was everything that the yelp community advertised............it was crispy, and when I bit into it, the juices just popped! With the fried chicken, was a little plate of daikon, & some kind of salt mixture so you can dip your chicken on the salt mixture. Ummmmm! The edamame - well how can you mess that up.......tasted as good as any other bar you can get it from, no big deal here. Korean Kimchee Pancake - Excellent choice by my friend.........a little small spiciness to it, and the pancake had some kind of vegetable in it. A dipping sauce came with the pancake, you must use the sauce to get the full effect. Kim Chee Fried Rice - I can't really critique this, as I only took a very small spoon size try of this..........probably because I was a little "bo-bo" from all the soju already! Lol! Service was sub-par, as soon as we got there and sat down, the staff was already trying to take our order. I was thinking - "man, we just sat down, started to chat for less than a minute, haven't even looked at the menu yet, and they come and try to take our order?" We told the waitress that we needed a few minutes, & to come back in 5 minutes or so...........next thing you know, when we were ready to order, we couldn't even get service now! We actually had to flag down our waitress to place our food order...........I guess it's a all or nothing thing....... The food was good, but the items came out slow...........we got our order one at a time, and each time we finished one of the plates of pupus, we had to wait for the next item to come out....... That was just fine by me, as I was enjoying the fellowship/company of my friends anyway. Food & drinks total = $79.00, I gave them a $12.00 tip..........but I should have given a little less due to the sub-par service. Food & Soju was good, so it made up for it. I would have given a "4" to this place........but minus "1" point for sub-par service. There is no parking...........so we did the "ol Hawaiian trick" by parking at the Ward Center parking lot by Ross Dress for Less, then sneaking off to Duck Butt. If you can find street parking near the bar area, good luck, as the bar is in an industrial area, just behind the Shell gas station on Ward Ave. area. Overall, Duck Butt was just an okay place............but if I were looking for bar food, I think I'd rather go to Side Street Inn as they have better food, and much better value for what you get. read more

"This is your first time here!?" "You've never been here before!?" Yes, this is my first time here, which shouldn't surprise anyone if you know me and my music preferences. But that's not important and not why I was here. This occasion was to celebrate one of my best friend's birthday. Café Duck Butt can be difficult to find as it blends in with the surrounding auto repair and custom shops and warehouses, but it's only a block from Ward Ave and a block up from Queen Street. Parking is difficult because there literally aren't many curbs in the area to park, and an abundance of "No Parking or Do Not Block Driveway" signs. There is "free" valet, but I will never let anyone drive my car. This place was extremely small, and the definition of "hole in the wall." The place dark and dingy with TVs surrounding walls with random Korean music videos. The bar area was nice and wide with plenty of seats. I think there were more seats on the bar than tables in the room. Our friends chose this place because we had about 15 people in our party, and we reserved a private room from 5-8pm. Sadly, the room was extremely small as well--like the size of a 3/4 bathroom. It can snugly fit 10-12 people with a couple of extra seats. It can get a little warm in there with the amount of people and the amount of alcohol consumed. There's a karaoke system setup with a giant remote all in Korean. Make sure you listen to your server when he/she is explaining how to use it! All songs cost a dollar, and there's a huge amount of songs in multiple Asian languages and English (of course). So apparently, the thing to get at Café Duck Butt is the Watermelon Soju that's served in a half of a watermelon for $30. This drink is oddly refreshing, but you will taste the soju. It's definitely a dangerous drink, but fun to share with a group of friends! When you finish, the watermelon becomes an excellent helmet. :p We ordered several items from the Happy Hour menu that range from 5 to 7 to 9 dollars. Starting with the Kim Chee Fried Rice at $9, the fried rice tasted good, but it was missing a key ingredient, the KIM CHEE. Where is the fermented won bok cabbage? The fried rice only had a few ingredients: spam, scallions, an overcooked egg omelet with furikake on top, and red chili pepper flakes. This was....weaksauce, literally. The Mochiko Chicken was terrible. The chicken was very thin and bland, and ate like bad minute chicken because it ate like it was over-starched rather than over-floured. I have no idea why this is made this way. What's wrong with the local style Korean Fried Chicken? The Green Onion Pancake was okay. The green onions were a bit thick, the center of the pancake was a bit mushy, and wasn't that crispy overall. These pancakes are typically bland, so you will need to dip in the soy sauce. The Deep Fried Chicken (whole) is deceptive because you are going to get the smallest whole chicken you'll ever see. When this dish came, I thought we ordered pigeon or squab based on the size of it. The chicken was fried nicely and seasoned well, but other than the drumstick, you won't find much meat elsewhere. The Spicy Pork wasn't that good. The meat was tough and dry. Yes, the sauce gave it some taste and flavor, but I'm missing the meatiness and richness from the pork belly. There was so little cabbage underneath the pork that it's pointless and would be better off putting none instead. Lastly, we had the Seasoned Tripe, and this was absolutely delicious and the highlight of the entire experience. The tripe was nicely cut into thin strips, and prepared and seasoned very well. The tripe was light and crunchy that had a great balance of flavors that hit all the notes and had a really good spice to it. I could literally eat an entire plate of this, perhaps even two plates! The service was great. All the servers were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. They always came to our room to check on us if we needed anything and to clear out whatever we finished. The food and drinks came very quick. Each room has a corded phone where you can call in to order or request something, and the call is almost always immediately picked up and is taken care of. Definitely top-notch service! Overall, I can't say I had a great time and I can't say I had a terrible time. It was fun celebrating my friend's birthday, but Karaoke Bars and Karaoke in general are things that I have no interest in because of music genre differences. Other than the tripe, the food could easily be much better. The place is too small for very large groups, and parking isn't ideal. Other than that, the service was excellent throughout. Here is warning to everyone that visits this spot! We came here one night with a group of 4 people when it came time to get our check the total was 95.25 we put down two cards and asked to split it down the middle when we received the check back I noticed that they charged each of us 58.12, so I called the server over to let her know that this isn't correct when she said she would go check she sent the bartender over which is a man and I'm woman with 3 other woman and a guy like he was gonna try and muscle us around. Mind you we weren't being rude or causing any trouble at all. When he told me that I was wrong I let him know that 95 divided by 2 comes out to 47 why is this so much? He couldn't give me a straight answer so I also asked did you guys include your tip in here which is right either because we didn't have more than 10 people and you are have to notify the party. When I said that he said yeah we put our own tip in so I left no tip with that they tipped themselves 21$ which is a few dollars more of 20% but I than asked him do you guys do this to a lot of people? Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, offset by average food options and soju that will make you pee more than get you drunk. The famous friend chicken was good but more like a game hen (was expecting more like chicken wings based on pictures), scallion pancake was really good, but spicy pork tacos came in a floppy store brand type corn tortilla. Either fry that bad boy or buy generic crunchy shells. The filling was good, but they just fall apart and come off as lazy. We drank 2 containers of soju cocktails (I actually had about 1 and a half to myself) and felt like I was about to burst from the food and liquid without even feeling the slightest bit buzz. $40 in drinks from a dive bar should get you pretty far, but here not so much. read more

My favorite items on the menu are: House Special Fried Chicken, Seafood Pancake and their various flavored Soju. It's a really small place, located in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no parking, but somehow, this place still fills up. The food is great, soju is awesome and love the background Kpop! The reason behind this review is because of customer service. we were the only ones on our side of the bar and we were not checked up on for 20-30 min. We even heard the bartender apologize to 2 other parties near us for whatever reason (probably because she didn't give them good customer service either). It wasn't even busy of a night as the bar was just us and one other party. However we still didn't get any attention and had to flag the server to get what we wanted. Even after getting our check she gave us a discount and apologized for not paying attention to us. We put in our card and still waited an additional 20 min for someone to come and take our payment while our bartender takes a shot instead. She then leaves our check by the register and we wait until they notice that we didn't get our bill yet for quite some time. As people who have worked front line at bars and restaurants for over 5 years, we're very dissatisfied with our experience here. If you're planning to go there, be ready to wait long periods of time for service while the bartenders are taking their shots behind the bar. read more
