Love coming here for the drinks! It may not look like much from the outside, but you'll be surprised that there's much more to be seen! It's a cool little bar area with private karaoke rooms, lots of good drinks, and tasty food. Service is always pretty quick here, especially earlier in the night before crowds. The sojus are the best part of this place in my opinion. The watermelon, taro, li hing, and cereal milk are all so amazing!! If you don't have much of a sweet tooth, then these drinks aren't for you. Monday March 3, 2025 the last time, that I remember coming here was in 2019?? The most challenging thing about here is finding parking in this area. No parking signs in front of all the businesses that is closed for the day. Park and take a chance that you don't end up having your car towed! Plus, all the parking on both sides of the road on Ward Avenue is a bike lane now!! That's where we used to park and walk there before. We ordered and the food came out shortly after. The Mandoo came to the table super hot. But, it was good. The crispy fried chicken was the same. The fried rice was cooked in very plenty oil. I guess, it will slide down your throat to your stomach very fast. Lol. For drinks we just drank water as we came here to eat dinner and maybe next time come here for drinks. We came here for karaoke and arrived early to reserve a room. With just three of us, they were able to accommodate us easily. The deal was to spend $150 on food and drinks, plus $2 per song for karaoke. I appreciated that the bathrooms were clean, which is always a nice touch. Came here many years ago, still the same layout today. However, their food remains SOLID! Sooo good you guys!! We had a Karaoke room and it's $2 per song... it used to be $1 when I first came here. ( blame inflation am I right? lol ) No designated parking stalls but lots of street parking all around the block. Service was great. We came tonight, Monday evening at around 9pm. We had a group of friends that went to Cafe Duck Butt's located in town. I've been here before but it was years ago. I forgot how it looked. First, the karaoke equipment is way out dated. The lyrics don't match the words. My $100 Amazon karaoke kit works way better and it's easy to use. Second, the rooms are old, small and dirty. Needs to be updated or maybe even put some decorations up. I understand it's a hole in the wall place but at least spend money to update EVERYTHING. Customers are spending a lot of money for rooms to rent out. Third, we booked our room from 8-11. The waitress came in 10 minutes prior and told us we needed to wrap it up because they had another party coming in at 11 on the dot. That's fine for us because we aren't cleaning anything but I would suggest they have breaks in between each party! Instead of doing back to back parties. We had so much food and drinks on the table. I'm pretty sure they didn't do a good cleaning. Because when we got in our room it felt dirty and smelled. Forth, DO NOT waste your money on the Soju. You will leave a diabetic or rotten teeth. It was all sugar and watered down! Not a fan! The worst thing about the drinks is the bar ran out of glass cups apparently. So we were given shot glasses. How the heck did a bar run out of glasses?! Can't say too much about the food, I wasn't a fan at all. I can say the waitresses and bartenders were great. There was one that had an attitude and didn't seem too happy but she was easily replaced by a great waitress. The rude waitress came in our room maybe 3 times in 3 hours. Wow, what a fun discovery for soju & korean beer food. We ordered Kimchi fried rice, Mochiko Chicken, kimchi with tofu, and strawberry soju. We originally were in the area to check out another cocktail spot, but after finding out they were closed for a private event, a local told us about Cafe Duck Butt being a cool spot nearby to go to instead. We're really happy we ended up here. The food was great, soju was tasty and came in a large jug with shot glasses, and the music was loud. There was a good variety of soju flavors to choose from. There were a couple of private rooms for parties to have private karaoke in, and we were in the main dining room with the bar and main floor tables. Parking is horrendous down here, be careful where you park because it'll be private property, blocked off , coned off etc and you'll get towed. I came here on a whim. My buddy suggested it. The parking was scarce. But there was one available in the back of the building. The walkway to get there is uneven and the concrete is breaking up. Watch your step. We were seated quickly. The server was friendly and attentive. I got a couple beers and the calamari. The calamari was a bit tough for my liking but we ate it anyway. When it was time to check out, I was given a pen that fell apart and leaked all over my hands. The waitress brought a wet napkin and assisted me with wiping my hands. Overall, the service was great. Made a reservation for karaoke on a Friday night for 10ppl from 8-11pm. Got there at 8:30pm, stayed longer than 11, and they were totally cool with it. The food was great, we ordered kimchi pancake, DB fried chicken, gizzards, mandoo, a bunch of other stuff. We had about 8 bottles of soju. The karaoke is interesting. It's paid in cash and $2 per song. You also have to request songs via an app that you have to download, and sometimes the songs are not available. All in all, our total bill was 400 which was about 40 bucks per person. We had great food, lots of drinks, and a good ol time. 4 stars because why not? We were satisfied on a Friday night. read more

Such a fun hole in the wall. Food was INCREDIBLE, especially from such an inconspicuous location. Always, always order the duck butt chicken. It is so juicy and flavorful, it falls right off the bone and is something I could eat 12 of. Next time I am going to try the gochujang fried chicken. My mom makes this for me at home, so sometimes I am hesitant to try it at restaurants. But their garlic soy fried chicken was just so yummy so I am definitely going to try the gochujang next time! The Korean tacos were also out of this world. They were huge and super flavorful with the pork and kimchi with salad. How innovative to make Korean tacos! I had never had anything like this before back home on the mainland. Let's start with the one good thing. The food. Thankfully, Duck Butt's food is still amazing. Literally the only thing worth going here for. 5 stars. Ambiance is still the same. It's a dive bar with karaoke. Their karaoke system has changed & definitely not for the better. We spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to select songs with no success. My boyfriend had to go out & ask one of the waitresses what to do. To which she replied as if we should've known, "There's a QR code outside..." Would've been nice if that was mentioned when we were being showed to the room. I scan the code & am unable to download the SongBook Master because, get this, the app Duck Butt uses isn't available because my android is too new. It is new (sort of). It's an S23 Ultra. But I have recently been to other karaoke establishments that also require you to use a QR code to access their karaoke system & my newer version of Android worked just fine. Anyway. The Service. If I could give negative stars, I would. I walk in & let them know we have a reservation. One of the girls asks my boyfriend & I if we'd like to sit at the bar while we wait for the rest of our party to come because the room is really cold. So we did. The bartender didn't seem to like that though because this girl had quite the attitude. If you don't want people sitting at the bar, why are you even working here? Mind you, Duck Butt was dead. 1 table seated & 1 other dude at the bar. And now my bf & I. That's it. Fast forward to our time in the karaoke room. We were in the room for about 5 hours & were constantly ordering food & drinks. To give you an idea of how much we were ordering, our bill was well over $400. 80% of the time, we had to go out & order our drinks. I counted 4 times that a waitress came in to actually check on us. Otherwise all they did was drop off the drinks that we had to go out to the bar & order. The last drink my boyfriend ordered, he had to go out & ask for 3 times because they were too busy tending to an emty bar. Idk if Duck Butt is going to close down soon so they don't give 2 shits, or if they just have the world's worst bartender/waitresses, but if it's the latter & they're not shutting down, they need to find people that actually care about working there. Don't accept people's reservations if you don't want them to come to your establishment. On top of the terrible service, they charged us 20% tip on the taxed total of our bill, not the subtotal. Let's be clear. It wasn't a suggested tip. They had already added it onto our bill. You're not supposed to charge people tip on taxes. I would honestly never come back here unless friends of mine insist they want to go to Duck Butt. Even then, I would try to convince them to go elsewhere. The service is that terrible. read more

I haven't been here in over 8 years! I brought my bf to try it out for the 1st time. We looked up menu on Google and their pupu menu was $5 per item. It said their happy hour was till 8pm. When we got here there was no $5 pupu happy hour, so that was disappointing. I guess the menu on google was outdated. BUT the food was yummy!!! I've been waiting to come check this place out forever. The stars finally aligned after a show at the Republik Monday night. We were hungry with not alot open in Kaka'ako. My friend ordered bacon cheese fries right away. I ordered us Watermelon soju as I had heard this is the way to go...... for a fun time/hangover. Ha Tuesday was a holiday so I figured it would be worth it. The fries came out fast, hot, and crispy. Covered with enough cheese and crispy bacon to make for a delicious snack to help soak up the alcohol we had already drank. The soju came out in your standard plastic carafe. Definitely enough to share. Fresh and yummy. Not very strong. I guess the "out of the watermelon" may have disappeared with covid. Our waitress was available and friendly. Such a fun experience with my work crew. There's Plenty of street parking around. We rented the larger private room and had soju and pupus and sang karaoke til our hearts were content lol. This place has a hilarious name and DELICIOUS FOOD. We came here straight from the airport after a 6+ hour flight. The dining area isn't that big, and it was pretty crowded with people, but we were able to get a booth right away. We ordered their world-famous watermelon soju (IT COMES INSIDE OF A HALF A WATERMELON - HOW COOL IS THAT??). We also ordered the tokbokki (they call it Korean spicy mochi) with ramen (costs extra), so really the rabokki, and also an order of the mochiko chicken. The watermelon soju was amazing - really cold and refreshing and sweet. Tasted more like juice! The rabokki was delicious - the rice cakes and the ramen were cooked perfectly. The mochio chicken was really tasty too, tender pieces of marinated chicken, sprinkled on top with furikake. Food good! Drinks good! Service good! This place is a Korean karaoke bar. There are many many TVs playing music videos (no K pop when we were there, just lots of Ariana and American hip hop) and then there are private karaoke rooms (all other reviewers mention reserving these rooms ahead of time). The place is really LOUD. It's loud from the singing in the private karaoke rooms. It's loud from the music playing in the main room. And it's loud from all the people talking loudly to be heard over the other noises. The walls inside and outside of the bar are covered in graffiti - really fun! I loved this place. We really enjoy the fried chicken, the poke, the Kim Chee fried rice, and the pork belly. The drinks are very delicious! The different soju's are awesome! My favorites are the passion and yuzu soju's. They have a pretty big happy hour menu with a lot of options. The prices aren't too bad, but not the cheapest for the size of potion for each dish. The karaoke rooms are adequate in size, but not the biggest. But what's good is that they have a few karaoke rooms for multiple parties. The parking situation here at Cafe Duck Butt is valet only. But the valet will allow you to park your own vehicle so long as they hold on to your car keys till you leave. They even include a small cup of the sweet & vinegary radish , though I wish they were cubed rather than cut up so fine.
