This is my third review; let me just take the time to acknowledge the fact that I admire and appreciate the Owner and Scott for apologizing to me for the misunderstanding with their hours. Their drinks are awesome per usual and Scott is still amazing as always! Always so friendly and enthusiastic about everything. I do feel bad for assuming that the other barista closes early just because. So for that, I truly do apologize. I should be more understanding of the situations. I was told that they'll close a few minutes early if it is slow. Now that I think of it, it actually makes more sense. I probably just need to race to town faster than normal so I can get here in time. lol which is no biggie now that I'm aware that some days they may close early. ^_^ Nevertheless, the drinks are still bomb dot com and their service is great!! Get the blended Thai tea with boba. Just do it. It's amazing. The guy who works there is super friendly all around. The boba is soft and chewy and not crumbly at all. The Thai tea is rich and sweet and addicting. We also tried the honeydew smoothie with boba which was also fabulous. read more

I love a good strawberry banana smoothie and Cafe Kyra's smoothie is magical. I was a bit skeptical because I noticed no cream or yogurt added but the fruity beverage came out smooth and creamy. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and was so refreshing in this sweltering weather. Service was so friendly! I waited only a few minutes before it was my turn and the owner kept apologizing and thanking me for waiting. I appreciate his appreciation of my business! its a small drink business and i think its kinda cute:) they sell coffee, smoothies, bubble drinks and muffins. its a cute small little business out side out Don Quote there isn't much people ordering drinks here but i tired it out for the first time and i gotta say the drink i got(tropical strawberry smoothie with pearls) was amazing and i just came back from hiking at manoa falls. having a fresh smoothie with yummy chewy pearls was something i was looking for after the hike:D i would recommend this place for good bubble drinks and coffee:P read more

Once I found this place... The days of Starbucks is no more for me! I will admit that I used to be a regular at Starbucks but this place has opened my eyes to good, strong coffee at reasonable prices. I always get the Iced Thai... And when I really need a boost I get the large... It comes with 4 shots of espresso for only $4! The venti (large) at Starbucks only comes with 2 shots and if you want a third shot you gotta pay extra! Cute stand right in front of Don Quijote. Also, this little area has lots of restaurants you can walk to. I got the iced thai iced coffee & it was so delicious. I came here 3 times during my stay in Waikiki, all 3 times my coffee was delicious. Not too strong, not too sweet. Serve was amazing too, everyone was very sweet. There was no line, mainly because I came around 8am. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience here. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants coffee. Best milk tea Boba made fresh each morning. They serve Obama early as in the entire downtown area. The employees are friendly and always early to work so you can get some even early if you need a early morning fix. It's kind of a cool mix of trendy coffees and teas and traditional drip coffee. Really like that they have combined the coffee stand with some of the snobby coffee and tea drinks. But it still feels like the corner coffee stand you get in Chicago or a large city. Place that a lot of locals go in the morning and get their coffee. you can get anything on the menu and you'll be really happy. I don't know that the employees are Baristas by trade but they can make a good cup of coffee or tea. read more

After one of my workouts, I needed a quick pick-me-up -- something a little fancier than just any ol' coffee. I went with a small Espresso Macchiato ($2.25; $2.36 with tax). While the barista at Cafe Kyra made my drink with espresso and foamed nonfat milk, it should be pointed out that it is not always made that way. Espresso macchiato translates to "espresso stained with milk," and somehow, there's a common misconception that the milk must be foamed (but doesn't need to be). In any event, the drink was wonderfully prepared. A nice, robust espresso worked well against the light foamed milk. The milk also provided that light, pleasurable touch of sweetness (I like my coffee black, so it was important to me that the drink not be too sweet). The portion size felt just a tad small, making me want to get a larger size next time. Is that a ploy to get me to spend more money there? Hmm.... Cafe Kyra has a full espresso bar for those colder Hawaii days/mornings, but they also serve smoothies and bubble drinks. The service was fine; each drink is quickly made to order. Boba drinks never tasted soooo gooood! I love boba drinks and this is by far one of my favorite places in town located in front of Don Quijote. I always make a quick stop to purchase a boba drink when I'm around this area. I love getting the mocha shake tapioca. A mix of coffee and tapioca, best ever! It ranges about $4-$5 depending what you get which is price reasonably compared with other boba places. The also offer other specialty drinks as well such as coffee, teas and smoothies. TLDR: Best thing is the taste! Price reasonable, parking good (and free a + in Honolulu), they are fast and friendly. The review: This place is located in the Don Quijote market and there are lots of food places nearby. I was kinda blown away by the drink I got (caramel frapp). Since Starbux is kind a ubiquitous anywhere in the world (is carmen san diego), the caramel frapp they have is one I had (a lot) and the yardstick here. But the thing is Cafe Kyra's caramel frapp made Starbucks Frapp taste like the McFrapp from Mickey D's. Don't me wrong, I can take the McD's one, and often will (in a I ain't too proud to beg sense), but if I want a decent one, I will pony up for the Starbizzle caramel frapp. But Cafe Kyra's was off the charts good like put the caramel in carmelldansen / made me think about a second one (but something about caloric and keeping the girlish figure . . . ) . It was great like Tony the Tiger screaming or Will Smith rubbing his chin with a lopsided grin and going "Daaayyuummmm!!" And the young lady was so cheerful, I felt I was like in a happy bright pastel J-anime or Not In United States super bored college kid trying to get past this order and dying of boredom. That was plus. The price is definitely reasonable for the large. They take cards or cash. Parking is plentiful (the main lot for Don Q fills up, but they have a parking structure that can tank the overflow) Ok and here's the kicker. She put the shake in a coffee foam insulated cup and lid. Which in the 30 degrees C really helps it from becoming caramel frapp juice. Most places use the plastic cup for shakes or smoothies which in 30 C quickly liquefies in five mins or so. And the coffee they use is good. Some frapp places use the cheapest blend possible so it's like 7-11 coffee (again I do get 7-11 coffee but if I'm going to pay, I'll put a little more to get something more tastier). Other drinks are taste worthy. Definitely worth coming back again and I have. It's a great to get a fast bite, and then dessert shake to top it off. read more

Nice kiosk right at the front of Daiei/Donki. Since I like shopping here and enjoy a pick-me-up cuppa joe I like to stop by. Service is always quick and friendly. I haven't taxed their skills very heavily, I've only ordered basic drip coffee and espressos so I'm not sure about their other offerings. I just don't need the extra calories these days - I enjoy the puckering sting of a straight up java jolt. Makes me feel alive! They seem to have bubble tea here also. read more

Every time I pass this little cafe, my caffeine withdrawals immediately surface. I always order their medium caramel frappe because it's honestly the best tasting one ever. In my opinion, it's so much better than most places. But all caffeine beverages aside for the non-caffeine drinkers, they also offer creamy smoothies with or without tapioca. I've only tried their strawberry smoothie and it is frickn yummy as well. I will definitely be trying other flavors soon. read more

Cafe Kyra has the best drinks and the sweetest workers! The baristas are always super friendly and they work hard while being in that tiny shop for hours. The drinks are delicious while being priced reasonably. My all time favorite drink is the milk tea with bubbles. They have a wide range of teas, coffees, shakes, and smoothies. Been here a couple of times, and each time it did not disappoint. Coffee is pretty strong and priced less than a starbucks drink. Obviously, its an outside stand which makes it only a reasonable place when you happen to be in the area (Don Quihote) and want to grab something to do. The thai tea is delicious. I live right across the street and frequent Don Q but for some reason, I've only been to Cafe Kyra a few times. My first trip I grabbed a boba drink and I remember it being OK. Recently a friend of mine was raving about the coffee here so I had to give it a shot. I'm new to the coffee drinking realm but I typically order an Iced Americano with sugar free chocolate from coffee bean. The gentlemen working behind the counter was awesome and had a bunch of recommendations. His upbeat personality and genuine eagerness to please his customers would be enough to bring me back but the coffee was also delicious. I love their peach smoothie. I even wanted to get a large one today. But I didn't. WHY? I was standing there and waiting patiently for the waitress to finish making another customer's drink but it was taking forever. Even the lady waiting for her drink was getting frustrated. What's worst is that I was standing there the whole time by the window waiting for her almost 10 minutes (or more) and she didn't even acknowledge me. She totally ignored me. And I know she saw me because she turned her head back. I felt like I was in high school again, where I was ignored by all the girls and the boys thought I was invisible. Seriously, the waitress could at least say "Hi, I'm sorry. I'll be right with you". But I got NOTHING. That was some bad service there. And I was so thirsty after a long day of shopping and walking under the sun. My advise is give the workers better training or hire people who could work faster than snails. read more

This is a cute little coffee kiosk in front of Don Quiote. I think it's a new owner under a new name but I'm not really sure. They're pretty friendly, but not that talkative. The service is quick and the mochas are affordable and pretty yummy. On a hot day I have it ice-blended. Other than that, there's nothing to cheer or jeer about. For me to give 5 stars, everything has to be pretty good and I have to pretty satisfied. This is one of those places. Friendly service! The guy was great. Excellent customer service. I got a smoothie for myself and when I asked one for my son that has milk allergy, he made sure there was no risk or cross contamination. My wife decided to order a thai ice tea, but she unsure if it would taste the way she wanted because it was powder form (typically at our normal spots, the thai tea is in a dispense container). The guy said he would make it and if she didn't like it, she wouldn't have to pay!!!! My wife liked it and we paid for it.. but to even give the customer that option was pretty cool. Price was good.
