A little pricey but great portions. Delivery was pretty quick. The bacon was a bit thin and my gf thought the sausage was salty (I liked it ‍) I had the French toast. A little sweet with the syrup but perfect without it. It included fresh fruit but we weren't a big fan of the apple compote. Glad I asked for it on the side. My GF had the pancakes. Went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. My friend and I thought we had beaten the brunch rush, but the restaurant was popping. There are both inoor and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoor since it seemed less noisy than inside and more airy. Although I think this meant we were a little forgotten. I tried their sangria, pancakes with bacon and eggs. The sangria was refreshing with a very few pieces of fruit in the glass. Taste was still great. The eggs were over easy and done the right way. You get about 4 strips of bacon but there were 2 that were burnt beyond consumption. (I received these a few mins after my pancakes, so I forgot to take a picture) The pancakes were top notch. They were soft, fluffy, and huge. They were topped with fruit and powdered sugar. Minimal syrup necessary. My friend got the French toast and eggs Florentino which She enjoyed. Overall, I'd get the pancakes again, sans bacon, and probably try something else on their menu. read more

This place is a Brooklyn institution - always a wait, rain or shine, but it's worth the wait. Don't be fooled and give in to the surrounding restaurants. However, I do remember the food being slightly better in years past. We always get the same things for brunch: fruit salad with no sauce - bananas, strawberries, mangos and blueberries. He gets the salmon Benedict and I get the mushroom omelette. The side salad is a must as also the crispy fries. Pancakes always make for a good side and dessert! read more

Got here around 12:30 Saturday and they said here would be approx a 30min wait. They sat us within 10 minutes since we were okay with sitting outside. There was plenty of sitting outside and some inside so not sure why the wait was estimated 30. Food: Luluc cheesesteak: thick pieces of meat although it doesn't fully condone the price of $19.50. Could use more onions and flavor in general as it was rather bland. Grilled chicken sandwich: very good. Loaded with arugula which comes tossed in a mild dressing (coming from someone which doesn't really use dressings) and the chicken had a light sauce on it. Flavor was very nice. Wish they cut the sandwich in half and that the bread were toasted to make it easier to cut and bite. Overall, highly recommend. Grilled merguez: tasty but rather small. Outstanding pancakes! The pancakes are cooked to perfection. Light and fluffy on the inside. They had a thin crisp on the outside. The pancakes were served with blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. Our table was right next to the sink at the bar. Unfortunately, we got splashed a couple times. We asked the staff if they could be a little more mindful since we didn't want us or our food to be splashed with dish water. They simply said not to worry and carry on. The pancakes live up to the rave, but I wouldn't wait for them and they're never a meal that I crave to have. My cocktail was of the middling range - nothing worthy of comment in any direction. The server was decent, but alternated between pushing us along the track on a consistent basis and then getting lost at the critical juncture where we needed our tab and to complete payment. We ordered the calamari and crab cake, they both came with a side salad, both unique but were some of the best, delicate tasteful salads I have had in a long time. One of my go to dishes at Cafe Luluc is the merguez sandwich. It is quite good and comes with salad and their very good french fries. The merguez are served in a crispy french baguette. Unfortunately the last time I had the sandwich it was served on a very doughy bread, something that more resembled a hot dog bun that a french baguette. 3.5 stars -- My first visit had the expected wait for a table. We came around 11am, and it was maybe 30 minutes or less waiting. If there was any reason to return, it's for their pancakes. They're great, but I don't want them with the same service and experience I had with the first visit. I was bothered by how they handled frustrated customers waiting outside, but I think they were maybe understaffed that day because our host was also tending to tables. Once we were seated, a couple who was in front of us in line were seated right next to us. We ordered the same thing; the poached eggs with gravlax salmon and pancakes with fruit, two eggs, and sausage on the side. Our food arrived before that couple's. We were nearly done with our plates when their food came. Our meal was expeditious, but I'd hate to have the waiting experience of that couple. As for the food, I thought the poached eggs were cooked well. I felt the salmon wasn't great flavor and texture wise. Their pancakes were nice and fluffy, with crispy sides. It's one of the best pancakes I've had in NY maybe, and for that alone, it's worth trying. In summary, the experience lacked, and some of the food was just okay. One of the many aesthetic brunch spots in the neighborhood. We went there as a group of 7 expecting an hour long wait, but luckily they had a perfect spot for us in their garden with no wait! It was cozy and nicely heated. Mimosas and Sangrias -- strong and delicious. For appetizers we had the Escargot -- pretty bland imo. I don't think it's worth ordering but if you do order this make sure to save the sauce underneath and DIP your bread in it! Also ask for olive oil, so good with the bread that they give! Cheese Tortellini with Truffle Sauce -- super creamy, I couldn't finish it. But I loved it! Not enough truffle taste IMO. Fettuccini with Creamy Pink Sauce -- also super creamy, perfectly sweet and al dente. Chicken with Mushroom Risotto -- the chicken was grilled perfectly and the risotto was so flavorful! Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes -- pork chop was so tender, the mashed potatoes paired so well with it. Crab Sandwich -- this was my least favorite. We were looking for a late morning place to have breakfast/lunch and I had read about this place on yelp and it was very highly rated so I thought I would give it a try. Walking in the door with my DH and DS I realized I had been here before but I've never reviewed so I thought I was due. Walking in the door with luggage in hand as we were traveling home after this stop we chose the table close to the window so we would have a room to store our luggage. The hostess Immediately brought us coffee and a menu which contained many choices for a great breakfast. In the picture below you will see that I ordered an omelette which was perfectly cooked which had a salad and some very delicious fresh-cut french fries best I've had in a long time. Oh man! I can't love this place enough. It is my TOP choice when in Brooklyn for brunch. The pancakes are HEAVEN!!!! I also love the delicious gourmet French roast coffee. They offer so many options for dining, it's almost impossible to not find something you like. My hubby loves their smoked salmon options since he is pescatarian. I have been here at least 5 times and every single time I leave happy. My go to is usually an omelette, but today I got the french toast. It had a lemon hint to it which I wasn't the biggest fan but the generous amount of nutella definitely made up for it! Amazing brunch spot! I walked in on a rainy Saturday afternoon and was asked to wait 20 min. We were sitting in their back patio under a heat lamp which kept us cozy. During my visit, I met someone who makes a ritual of coming here each month and spoke highly of the pancakes. They were seriously delicious! So fluffy on the inside while buttery and crispy on the outside. I wanted to like the homemade quiche more but it was a bit on the earthier side. The fries were so fresh and crispy. Oh my goodness. Cafe Luluc is a pancake haven. If you don't know about this place, get in the car or on the next train down to Smith St immediately. Located in a beautifully bustling area of Brooklyn lies a cash-only restaurant that makes some of the areas best food. I've had a few things off the menu including pasta, a crab cake (I WISH I had a picture of this... looks like I'm going back this week), and a pulled pork sandwich. However, their pancakes are on another level of amazing. They're crispy on the outside, and fluffy and buttery on the inside, topped with fresh fruit and paired with local maple syrup. They actually serve them as a side or an entree, and are offered at any time of the day. I love this place also because they have amazing deals such as pasta night on Mondays, and oyster specials! You really need to get here very early as there are no reservations. Like I said, it's cash only, but there are plenty of banks and ATMs that in a hurry you can get cash. However when we were done (not immediately but you definitely can't dawdle) we were told to leave because people were waiting- however when we left no one was and there were empty tables but whatever - it's NY. It's CASH ONLY so don't forget. And when we asked for change, she ended up charging one person for the whole bill , so that was a bit of a mess with math between me and my friend. Came for brunch with friends and family, total of 4 people. When you first enter, the restaurant looked spacious, but when you walk towards the back seating area it's actually quite tight. You're walking in between a row of customers who has to sit with a certain amount of spacing otherwise people won't be able to get through. You also would not want loose clothing hanging on the floor or else people might step on it. I can't speak of the food ratings for my friends and family, but I got the pressed pulled pork sandwich and it was bland. The meat was not dry, but the pulled pork was all I tasted eating the sandwich as a whole. The garlic aioli sauce was barely there, I only tasted it when I bit the edge of the bread. Service was also average, waiter gave us the extra minute we needed to decide what we wanted. We asked a waiter for refill on coffee and he walked past us as if to not acknowledge us, but did hear us and refilled our coffee. Last, but not least we were charged gratuity without a heads up. One of my favourite things in NYC aside from shake shack is brunch. Although there are lots of spots to brunch in Manhattan, Brooklyn is 100% worth checking out. A short metro ride under the river, you'll find yourself at Cafe Luluc. For coffee lovers, the cappuccino and espresso will wake you up real quick. The food here is amazing! We got the nutella french toast and eggs bene w/ bacon and fries. I have to say that we were stuffed by the end of our meal. Eggs bene was really good, bacon was super crispy and perfect, almost like eating chips. It was great! English muffin was nicely toasted, crisp on the edges but warm and soft on the insides. Nutella French toast was the highlight of the meal. Not only was there powder sugar and a nutella drizzle on the surface, there was also nutella inside the french toasts itself. The fruits complimented the sweet fluffy goodness really well. I'm getting hungry all over against writing this review. Really happy that I made the trip out to Brooklyn for brunch when there's so many good spots in NYC. I do have to warn you, although the space is reasonable, it's packed!
