Went there for a lunch with reservation to celebrate an occasion. I would say apart from our server nothing was very pleasant about this experience. Went there based on it ratings in the list of famous Michelin styled restaurants, I dont even understand how did they make it to the list. Its not just the taste of the food that disappointed us but also that they served half cooked pasta which gave us an upset stomach for 2 days. Also the fact that they failed to acknowledge that we made a reservation to celebrate an occasion and made us sit an a very dim and not so fancy corner of the restaurant. Honestly a very bad first experience for a so called rated Michaelin standard restaurant. We tried the following: 1. Veggie burger : very strong cheese that spoiled our taste buds. The fries with the mayonnaise were the best part. 2. Campanelle pasta: overcooked pasta with raw mushrooms and a can of tomotoe sauce mixed together and served with a whopping price of $28 . Came for brunch and was very pleased. Ordered the salmon toast which was perfect. The quality of the smoked salmon was really good and paired well with the cream cheese and onions. the flavors and texture just worked. I also ordered the steak frites which was also pretty good. Was a bit tough cutting into and needed a little salt but very juicy and of good quality. The place is also very nice. Definitely and upscale feeling. They offer vallet for $20 and There is also a parking garage on the next street for $20 as well. Anyway while waiting and about to eat my own stomach we decided to eat here. Food I ended up getting the Arctic char which also came with some couscous and vegetables. It was not filling at all and I was still pretty hungry I ended up eating a lot more of the table bread than I hope for yay carbs! service was fine however I did notice that there were some issues with the way that they printed out the receipt. It was almost like they were printing out receipts for hotel guests but not the same as a restaurant. It was just a little bit awkward when putting in the tip. I ended up giving a cash tip to the waitress because of all the strangeness. We experience the same issue when we were at the bar downstairs so they may want to rethink this approach. However, we ordered bloody Mary's here and were quite literally served hot sauce on ice with some vodka (I'm from the south so I typically handle spicy really well. These were undrinkable). Ok, Cafe Riggs, I see you... Wow...can't say there was anything I didn't like. Started with a Guinness (love that they have that) and the beef tartare...it was topped with a tiny egg yolk just the way I like it...SO good. Very flavorful and great quality beef. Gorgeous dish. Next, complimentary breadsticks and soft delicious butter. Yessss. And yea, I liked it so much I got doubles. For entree, I got the halibut and also ordered the cauliflower plant dish. The halibut was fantastic. The potatoes that come with it are actually creamed and so delicious. The fennel and kale add a great flare to cut the creaminess of the potato a bit. At first I thought the halibut may have been slightly over, but now I think it was about right. The cauliflower dish was awesome. I loved the espelette spice rub. The sauce was very unique too...almost tasted like the CFA sauce which is weird but kind of worked with it. To finish, I got the chocolate hazelnut dessert. Quite small but tasty too. Went for a round of drinks and light bites during "Bankers Hour", their spin on happy hour. You order at the bar and seat/serve yourself. There was plenty of space and the restaurant is beautiful. Fairly short cocktail list, but decently sized wine list. The drinks were all good, although I wouldn't say imaginative or creative, but certainly well made and nicely presented. We tried the veggie burger sliders, which were ok, and the gougeres, which were so good we ordered another serving. Would recommend if convenient to where you are, but wouldn't make a special trip just for the bar. read more

Came here twice after opening: once for happy hour (no specials) and once for a Sunday evening dinner for two. Ambience is great. Modern and elegant at cafe Riggs and the cocktail bar downstairs is sexy. Service is good. Friendly. No happy hour specials and drink prices vary from $14-$18 at cafe Riggs. I doubt I will come again during happy hour when nice hotels and restaurants have specials. Would only come after 7 when prices at most places are the same. Dinner was excellent. Enjoyed the olive oil poached halibut over a root puree, sunchokes with some mustard greens, and grilled octopus. The halibut melted in my mouth like butter and was easily the star of the show. The octopus was tender and delicious. Generous portion for $20. I ordered a cucumber Hendricks martini and it was small and ended up being billed $21!!! I thought that was a little insane. My date enjoyed the burger with fries which appeared to be delicious. Complimentary mini bread sticks were served with butter pre dinner. For dessert we shared the apple tart which was caramelized apples over a flaky pastry served with a tiny tiny scoop of ice cream. I may return for dinner after some time but I will certainly limit my drinks at this place or not order any martinis. I think they need to make some tweaks on pricing or they may not get many repeat customers. read more

Came for dinner on a Tuesday night. Bar area was lively but restaurant was empty. Beautiful grand building but the ambiance of the restaurant was modern. Very accommodating to my 2 year old. We ordered the kale salad, steak frites, kids snapper, aubregine and Brussels sprouts. All were excellent, especially the Steak and the rice that came with the snapper. She was patient, kind, and vigilant of all her guests and has a way of making you feel like you are at home. It's a great experience every time I come here for breakfast or dinner.
