    Grilled cheese

The cheese pull gets five stars alone. But we also ordered pizza and a pita and it was all sooo good. I'm not knocking a star off for this, because it's a non profit, but damn the vibe is so pretentious. IDK who they were but a table full of people that are obviously associated with the place were next to us and the vibe given to our table by them was so insanely "we're better than you, how dare you look our way" it was insane. Anyway, the food is incredible and the non profit mission is too.

HANDS DOWN BEST MEATBALL SUB I HAVE EVER HAD! Some might say subway does it the best, or firehouse subs, or jersey mikes, or their local Italian joint, or Applebees. I respect all of those, but you have GOT to try Cafe 180s meatball sub. Here's how it went down for me: I see the sandwich. I choose the right side to attack. Two hands around the doughy, crispy bread (yes it can be both I don't know how but ask the chefs at this place they did it). Here comes the plane. My mouth starts watering the moment I pick up the scrumptious sub and the water in my mouth is met with red sauce I let drip into my watering mouth and next thing you know I hit the crisp of the bread and move to the doughy part of the bread and boom there is the cheese wow I want more cheese give me more of it and then the meat is here oh yes I love it give me more! That is how the experience went for me. I had such a great experience here. We even ran into a new/old friend, Jane (I say new because we had only known her for a week and a half and old because she first knew my oldest brother and then she knows my second oldest brother and know she knows the third oldest brother/youngest brother/kuulest brother [a.k.a. Me]). The workers/volunteers made the experience even better. They will make you laugh, smile, cry, blush, chuckle, and EAT.

I had a delicious melted turkey and Swiss sandwich picked up from Cafe 180 today! The roasted tomatoes were an especially good touch. It took a while to revive my order, but everyone dining and working there was really friendly. I'll definitely be back.

This is the easiest review I've ever done. Cafe 180 donates its profits to charity. Everyone who walks in can get a delicious meal. Either make a donation or work some and the meal is yours. It is real food, too! One gentleman was pushing a broom for his meal and another was playing guitar and singing. In the age of corporate greed , I love this concept.

Wow, what a fantastic non-profit concept! If you are on hard times and need a good meal, you pay what you can. If you can't afford to pay at all, volunteer as your payment! And if you can afford it, pay what you feel is fair or pay it forward! :) The service is very friendly and the concept is well explained by the counter person. They convey their appreciation for you and it is sincere. The food is quite good with options for everyone. I opted for the club, kinda my go-to sandwich. Hearty, fresh and tasty! So if you want a good meal that does good for the community, please stop in and enjoy!

I have found Colore to be one of the top Italian restaurants in Denver. I have been visiting…read moreColore since my son was performing in band and orchestra concerts at DU, about 10-15 years now. It is not near my home, so I look for reasons to visit. My latest no-brainer excuse is to indulge in a nice meal prior to concerts from at Swallow Hill Music Center, located across the street from Colore. Last night was one of these nights. Quite the date night for me and my husband--a full meal at Colore and a Face Vocal Band concert at Swallow Hill! Colore has all the traditional American-Italian favorites, including lasagne and other creative pasta dishes (is the pasta homemade? I'm not sure, but it's yum!), chicken parm/picatta/marsala/saltimbocca, steak, fish, it is all very high quality and creative cooking. Pizza and calzones are also available. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Don't forget to glance at the cocktail menu, where they've tailored cocktails to include amaro, Campari, aperol, and limoncello to delicious result. Try the Italian Greyhound with Boulder Spirits gin and aperol, the Black Manhattan with Stranahan's whiskey and amaro, or the Italian margarita with Campari. And the wine list is reasonable, too, with a few high end Italian choices by the bottle, and many options by the glass to keep your budget down for the evening. And sangria? Yes, please! The desserts all have a nice Italian twist, as well. Cannoli, Tiramisu, gelato, and other indulgences. My FAVORITE THING? The garlic knots that come out with every meal, along with olive oil and balsamic for dipping. These are just heavenly, yeasty, soft, unforgettable. There is also always a special or two which we have found to be perhaps the most exciting and delicious on the menu. Last night, my husband ordered the salmon special. This piece of wonderful salmon was stuffed with lump blue crab and spinach, and had a white sauce with fennel and I forget what else, which was simply heaven. It was placed on a dollop of polenta. He ate every last bite. I opted for the vegetable lasagne, which didn't disappoint. A three-inch cube of lasagne, covered in their homemade marinara, with all the veggies--spinach, broccoli, artichoke, mushroom, zucchini. And of course, the requisite ricotta and mozzarella/parm layers. When we were sufficiently stuffed, we decided to share a dessert. Given the nice spring weather, we were drawn to the carrot cake with pineapple, walnuts, and berries, and a scoop of pistachio gelato. This carrot cake was a little two-layer individual round tower; they layer filled with pineapple sweetness and topped with a walnut cream. Strawberries and whip on the side made it feel healthy (lol). The pistachio gelato was the perfect accompaniment (we always need ice cream, right?), with little crunchy pistachios mixed in, as one would hope it would have. Our server was bubbly, very nice, and efficient. It was a great meal. I should also mention that they have takeout. How great would that be to have in your neighborhood? I noticed when I went online to make reservations, that Colore has just opened a Littleton location. I would like to submit a request--next location opening--Downtown Golden! That's my town, and I would love to have Colore take-out every week. And date night even more often. If no luck with getting a location in Golden, I will continue to keep my eye out for Face Vocal Band concerts at Swallow Hill, so that I have a great excuse to make my way down to South Broadway for a wonderful meal at Colore.

The inside of the restaurant had a mid-century modern feel that reminded me of my childhood home. After sitting down and reviewing the menu, my friends decided on the frozen rosé, while I stuck with a Coke since I was driving. The soda hit the spot, but my friends found the frozen rosé a bit bitter and weren't fans. For starters, we highly recommend the garlic bread and pepperoni rolls. The sauces served with them tasted fresh and were packed with flavor. After appetizers, we ordered three pizzas and a Caesar salad. The restaurant got busier after we sat down, and our food took a little over 30 minutes to arrive. When the pizzas finally came out, they were absolutely worth the wait. They were visually appealing, and we couldn't wait to dive in. I ordered the veggie pizza, and it was so good. Our friends got the White Tiger pizza and added prosciutto, while my husband ordered the mushroom pizza with added sausage. It took us a few years to finally try Joy, but I can confidently say they make an awesome pizza in a relaxed, chill atmosphere.

There were 2 parties ahead of us when we walked in, and we didn't even talk to the host for about 15 mins. I had time to go down to the bathroom, take a call, and come back, and my fiance was still waiting, and nobody had even acknowledged him or said it'll be just a minute or anything. The restaurant was freezing cold inside, unbearably cold, so we asked to sit outside and were told there was a wait, fine not a huge deal. Except for the wait again at the host stand after we got our text, it took forever to get seated. We got the text, went back, and 2 parties ahead of us who were just walking in and weren't on the list or anything were seated outside, and finally they got to us. The host had absolutely no sense of urgency or hospitality, she was just leisurely walking around and took forever to come back after seating someone. Honestly super frustrating. I'd be less frustrated if we had gotten a "hi, I'll be with you in just a second", or even any sort of acknowledgment, but no such luck. We felt like an annoyance being there. The patio is gorgeous, such a nice spot, but it is insanely loud. I don't know what it is about it but the noise is so amplified we could barely hear other talk. And there were quite a few open tables so it wasn't packed or anything. Service was good, our waiter was on top of it and quick, but the food was fairly mediocre. We ordered the stracciatella and sourdough and it came with 6 of the absolute tiniest spears of sourdough I've ever seen...for $16. We finished it in about a minute. The pizza was good but nothing to write home about, I expected a bit of a bigger pizza for the price just based on other places we've been to in town. Good but really nothing special. Neither of us ordered a drink but we saw them walking out with cocktails and they had to be some of the smallest cocktails I've ever seen. Overall I feel like this place is pretty overpriced for what you get, and the service at the host stand kind of ruined the experience off the bat for us. We've had much better dinners for less lately, so unfortunately this just didn't do it for us.
