Nice modern cafe right by the 6 train. Doesn't get much foot traffic - was pretty quiet on a Monday night and had a lot of space to sit. Lighting is great and has a bathroom and free wifi! Desserts are rather pricey and tastes only OK. read more

Interesting variety of flavors! I tried the peach lychee tiramisu and both peach and lychee flavors were very prominent. Best tiramisu I've ever tried, but definitely on the pricier side. Very cute decoration. Unfortunately the food is just mediocre. The waitress initially gave me a wrong cake. The mousse is frozen inside (not sure if it suppose to be so). The taste is quite blant. Cute hangout spot and fast service . Had a problem with my order and the person working in the front was very nice and helped me . Overall the peach lychee cake was my favorite and refreshing ! Pandan coconut was mildly sweet and not as strong as the peach lychee cake . Me and my friends all got guava matcha and the guava wasn't as strong of a flavor and matcha was ok. This cute little cafe is such a great addition to the dessert scene in the East Village. The interior is nice. The desserts and drinks are delicious. cute dessert and drink spot! I ordered the mochi cake at the cashier because it wasn't on the digital menu, but it took over 45 minutes to come out and I had to ask several times about its status. For a little more than $20 it was super tiny, but delicious nonetheless. The mochi was super soft and fresh! The drinks also have a strong tea flavor so I personally really liked them. read more

i think this cafe is a bit overrated. i ordered the thai tea tiramisu. it was very good but i couldn't really taste the thai tea flavor. on the other hand, they've got plenty of tiramisu flavors including earl grey, pistachio berry, durian soybean, sea salt caramel and blueberry yogurt cheese. the tiramisus range from $13.95-16.00 but the size of the tiramisu isn't that big. it's for sure enough for 2 people to share. the cafe has plenty of tables and outlets. service was friendly and quick. all orders are made via a QR code. overall rating: 8/10 read more

I kept hearing about this place on social media and had to try! I was so excited by the variety of unique Asian flavored tiramisus, and ended up ordering a peach lychee tiramisu which was $15 with tax. The peach lychee tiramisu was decorated beautifully with flowers and a lot of lychee pieces which I appreciated. The top was a delicious jelly which had a strong peach and lychee flavor. The rest of the cake was soft and light, and tasted like a regular sponge cake. Its size was pretty small at about 2 x 2 x 3 inches. Ultimately, for this price, I wish the tiramisu was larger and had the peach and lychee flavors evenly distributed throughout all its layers. While I believe this cafe is worth trying, I don't believe this tiramisu was worth it. I dropped my original rating of 4 stars to 3 because of the price and size. read more

Excited about a tiramisu cafe opening in nyc! Visited a couple weeks back with a friend and had a great experience. Ordered on the kiosk up front to dine in. We ordered the original tiramisu, mango passion fruit tiramisu, strawberry matcha latte, and yuzu matcha. Not the biggest fan of the yuzu matcha, but everything else was good. Stopped by to try their tiramisu after dinner. Actually walked past this cafe since we were looking for a sign that said '2BY2' and not 'two by two' and had to backtrack. The cafe is on the second floor. They have a wide variety of tiramisu but we decided to try the original. There's plenty of tables to sit and eat. The tiramisu was really good but a bit pricey (~$14). It wasn't dry at all and liked that it wasn't too sweet. read more

This is a nice dessert cafe. There was something wrong with the kiosk that made my orders punched twice which i didn't noticed. Then the cashier noticed it and refunded it. I saw this cafe in IG reels and wanted to give it a shot. So I recommended it to my friend. We were both satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. It's a cute cafe serving the cutest slice of tiramisu. We ordered spaghetti, peach lychee tiramisu, pistachio tiramisu and mango pomelo sago. Everything was good. the ambiance, interior and food were all spectacular. the staff are very kind but i feel like service could be improved? (will elaborate on this, keep reading!) when we arrived, we checked out at the self order kiosk and then got seated to wait for our order. i took a picture of our order # just incase as there was no paper receipt print out (you get a text sent to tell you to check your receipt with chowbus link but i had trouble loading it, i don't know if it is because i don't have the app or account?) when the food orders started coming out, the staff would stop by to ask if this order was ours and we declined and they would shuffle to the next table until they got the orders right. that was the only minor issue that i feel like could be fixed regarding service. otherwise, everything is good! :) we ordered the following for our table: pistachio berry tiramisu - very nutty 5/5, the cream feels heavier within the last few bites but still good. (my friend ordered this for herself, i tried a bit) matcha lychee raspberry shortcake - 5/5 i thoroughly enjoyed this. the lychee cream was not overly sweet, it was like a salted lychee but not salty!! its lychee cream on the outside, matcha cake with raspberry filling and a layer of lychee pieces with a raspberry on top. very delicious house special shrimp sauce spaghetti - 4/5 i prefer a stronger tomato-y sauce personally but it is still good. roasted spices corn - 5/5 but it gets messy. at one point i gave up eating with a fork and just took a bite out of one end so i could hold it up with a tissue and eat all the corn kernels off the cob. we will definitely return in the near future to try other menu items. this will now be one of my favorite cafes in manhattan. read more

Super cute Tiramisu themed cafe! Sad I didn't get to stay long as I ordered to-go, but it was super quick and the staff was very helpful in helping me to choose flavors. I got the durian tiramisu for my mom, a huge durian lover, and she really, really liked it (VERY rare for a Viet mom, whose home country has the best durian to offer). after the flippers run my friend was like omg this cafe nearby with asian flavors and yk how i love asian anything. so guess where we headed? you would've never guessed tbh. anyways we got there like 5 mins before opening and then we just stood there. in the freezing cold. why was it so cold. but we came and then the opening worker was LATE. bad bad bad. so we stood out there with a few other people while the store was still closed. i was really indecisive over what i wanted to get and ended up getting the lychee and taro mochi tiramisu. ok by then, i needed to be back fro my one class that took attendance and they said the food was gonna come in 20 minutes so i bid farewell to my friend and took their shopping stuff and she waited while she picked up my tiramisus and dropped it off later for me. but anyways if i waited with her for the tiramisu i would've missed by class but i was late anyways and they didn't even take attendance bruh so no use rushing and taking a subway ride by myself. but i forgot about the tiramisu cuz my friend came over and then i ate it 4 days later so that's why it looks so ugly in the photo but it still tasted fine and i didn't have a stomachache after so i say that's pretty awesome! okay but like i realize now that im back in oc that this place is expensive af. okay whatever!! still 4 stars! read more

Super cute Asian dessert shop! My favorite was the black tea chestnut shortcake - the cream is a little salty but it's smooth and pairs well with the sweetness from the chestnut. Pandan taro was alright, the cake inside was a little dry. Mango sticky rice doesn't actually have sticky rice inside and was too frozen to enjoy properly. read more

Horrrrrible! Skip skip skip!!!!! First of all the place is upstairs and completely inaccessible for anyone with wheelchair/disability, or family with a stroller, how is this legal? You go to a kiosk to order. We ordered 4 tiramisu slices (I was disappointed that one of the flavors was sold out). Very expensive, $13 each. We ordered to go, yet waited over 30 minutes. Then we were told that 3 out of the 4 flavors we ordered and already paid for were sold out, ummm what?? We just paid over $50 and now they are giving us some other cake flavors we don't want as a replacement. At that point we just wanted to leave. Honestly this place was just horrible all around. Skip it! And shame on this business for not being accessible to all! read more

The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. The topping was literally like actual tiramisu rather than just tiramisu flavoring, and it felt like there was more ice and tiramisu than latte. Personally, I would have preferred more of the tiramisu flavor without the full tiramisu texture mixed into the drink. That said, it was an interesting concept and I'm glad I tried it. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying another latte on a future visit.

I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.

I was initially hesitant to visit and try their tiramisu due to the steep price for just a single slice. However, I was absolutely amazed by the quality of their tiramisu. I opted for the peach lychee flavor, and despite anticipating an overwhelming sweetness, I was pleasantly surprised. The dessert was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet at all--and I found myself finishing the entire slice. As a lover of cream, the texture and richness of the cream in this tiramisu was an entirely unique experience for me. I'm not sure if they used ladyfingers, but whatever they did, it was outstanding. I also tried the matcha with guava syrup, which was a bold combination, though I felt the guava syrup would pair better with a soda than with matcha. Overall, I deeply regret waiting so long to visit this place and will definitely be back for another slice whenever I'm in the area. read more

Just had a delightful visit to Cafe 2By2, a true haven for tiramisu lovers! With over 18 types of tiramisu, each more tempting than the last, this cafe is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. I tried the Sesame Soybean Tiramisu and Match Tiramisu, and both were phenomenal, perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and just the right amount of sweetness. Peach Lychee Tiramisu is good if you love sweet fruits. The Yuzu Match and Diglna Coffee were also excellent, providing a refreshing contrast to the rich desserts. If you're in the mood for exquisite tiramisu and great drinks in a cozy setting, Cafe 2By2 won't disappoint! read more
