Stopped in for the first time today, craving a diner-style late breakfast. The staff was very friendly and the cafe was bright on a dreary day -- it was nice to sit by the big glass windows with a cup of tea, watching the rain pour down. I had a very tasty sandwich of two fluffy scrambled eggs with cheese on a Kaiser roll. Homefries accompanied it, even though that wasn't noted on the menu. My husband enjoyed his breakfast platter with sunnyside-up eggs, homefries, sausage, rye toast and coffee. The bill came in around $10 with tax -- and the meal kept us going all day. Looking forward to trying them another time for lunch. read more

I ordered seamless from here this week. We had the cheesesteak, sliders, and a quesadilla. One of the sliders came with bacon on it, so I requested in the comments section "NO BACON PLEASE :)" Alas, I got sliders delivered with bacon. When I called back, they said they would send a new one over. The delivery guy came and I gave him the old sliders, and he gave me the new ones. I open the box and I can smell bacon. You could actually see the bacon grease on the slider, and the outline of the bacon that was once there in the melted cheese. They put bacon on it and then someone took it off, instead of not putting bacon on it at all like I asked. At this point, it's nearly 2 hours since I first ordered, and I just threw that slider away. I wanted to like this place but my food was terrible. I ordered French toast and bacon and it was the worst bacon I ever had. I am not sure how you mess up bacon but this bacon was stale and tasted like nothing. The price is right if you like bland food. Just don't order anything American. Go with the hangover chilaquiles. My boyfriend ordered those and they were good. They also messed up my check and tried to charge me twice for the French toast. This place is cheap so just know that you get what you. I think this place would be fine if you order the right things but please take French toast and pancakes off your menu. No need to offer what you don't know how to make. read more

Went with my kids to have brunch. We were waiting for a 4 top. They told us to wait outside. A table was opening up. Waited for 10 min. Another family came in and they waited inside, sat them down and told us to wait another 10 min. The waitresses were extremely rude. The place used to be pretty good, but I think there are different people in the kitchen. People who don't know the difference between blackened chicken and nuclear hot chicken made with hot sauce and pieces of hot peppers. Overall the food is superb, everything is well sessoned and the food was well worth the wait. And presentation wise, the food looked extremely appetizing. Personally I love the the cozy atmosphere and the food reminds me of the perfect home style lunch your parents make you after school as a kid. I ordered the french dip marinated roast beef sandwich it came with au jus sauce on the side and a perfect portion of fries. I would totally come back for more because im excited to see what else this amazing little place has to offer. read more

Just had breakfast here again. It's a no frills, great neighborhood mexican american restaurant. Their breakfast food is solid, the staff is extremely nice and their coffee is also solid. They're open early on the weekends for the early weekend go getters, and yes they have a brunch menu. Right across from the 7 train entrance at 52nd street, sitting outside may be noisy, I like to sit inside. The mexican breakfast is compatible if not better than The Haab on the other side of Woodside. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I ordered a burger (I forgot what burger it was) and fries to go a long time ago and it was between okay to good. Today I had brunch with one of my neighborhood friends here. I ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict and a red sangria. The price was unbelievable inexpensive so i didn't expect much. Guess what- I ended up being very satisfied with my meal and drink. I can't say it was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had but given the price, it deserves 5 stars. And the delicious red sangria is only $4! I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the menu. I ordered from them twice both times they were almost two hours late I ordered the guacamole burger, soup and a dessert!! The bag were the food was delivered had some kind of insect. I was on the hunt for a delicious burger delivery place and I found it here! BBQ bacon cheese burger is delicious. BBQ sauce tastes homemade, bacon is crisp, and bun is nice and toasted. The fries are freshly prepared and come in a paper bag, love that, but they are a little on the soggy side when they reach you. Highly recommend this place if you want a great burger. I ordered my food at 11:04 am via Seamless. Simple cheeseburger with fries, can of Pepsi and a side of hot sauce. Easy. Got an ETA for 11:55-12:05pm. No problem. I am at work, busy as can be, and when I look up, it's 12:10. I give them a call and I was told "the order was sent out for delivery a while ago and they must have a lot of deliveries so it's taking long.", and that was it. My food finally shows up at 12:30. My fries are not just disgustingly soggy because they've been drenched in oil, they are cold. Not a little warm, not even the slightest. Imagine leaving your fries out on a table overnight and trying to eat them the next day. Yeah, gross. The burger, which I ordered with cheddar, looks decent, all because I knew if my fries were stone cold l, my cheese wasn't going to be beautifully melted and delicious. The toppings came in little foil, which was cool so they won't get the bread soggy, and when I open it comes a sad half a leaf of lettuce, one tomato leaf and one lonely pickle slice. If you say pickles, I would imagine receiving pickles. I dressed the burger best I can, took a bite, and just shook my head in disappointment. Burger, supposed to be medium well, just well done and dry...So very dry. And cold...So grossly cold. However, they did get two things right-my Pepsi was cold and I did have my side of hot sauce! All in all, because of the lack of simple proper phone etiquette, cold, soggy, oily and tasteless food...Two stars. And I'm being generous. read more

This is a gem in the neighborhood. Do not judge a book by its cover! The burgers are, dare I say, almost the best in Woodside / Sunnyside area! I've only had delivery so you can imagine the points that might take off. Everything we've had (burgers, wraps, salads, pasta) has been great. Good food. Very convenient, right in 52nd St and across the train. Why am I giving it 2 stars? The staff is awful. Bad customer service. I love their Cobb salad. I usually order it and they always get it wrong. I always ask for it chopped and they always forget. I repeat it to them when I place my order and they still don't get it right. This place has very good food!! Buttt the only problem is that they don't have AC. Since it's the summer, they should obviously have one and not just fans. I give them 5 stars and it's based on delivery ONLY! Always under 30mins. Food is always hot and always yummy. I order from seamless at least 3 times a week from this place and always get the same thing. There chicken panini with there chipotle mayo on the side. Love there chipotle mayo! This is EXACTLY what I want out of my Queens takeout - tasty, quick, and affordable. I ordered the chicken burger, which was just what I needed for a Friday night. The chicken was well-seasoned, but still juicy, and paired well with the melted jack and some of the tangiest (in a good way) chipotle mayo I've had in a while. Better still were the fries, still crispy even after their trip from the restaurant to the apartment. (I really appreciated they put the mayo on the side, so you could use it for both the burger and the fries.) And this call out to less than $10...with tip. By no means mind-blowing, but Cafe 52 will certainly more than do the trick for an empty stomach. read more

I regret ever ordering from this place! I ordered via Seamless and I know sometimes it takes a little long for delivery like that but 2 HOURS!!! I called 3 times and every time the person who picked up said the delivery guy is 5 or 10 minutes away. The food was cold when it finally did arrive at 10:45PM, and what could have been really good fries were a soggy mess that I had to re-fry myself. I also ordered the Cuban sandwich and requested for lettuce and tomatoes to be added on (which they will charge extra for BTW) it came with no lettuce or tomatoes and it had really no taste aside from the mustard. Have only been here for breakfast. Good diner type food, unlimited coffee, but service could be better. Last time I had the blueberry banana pancakes and wow, those were the largest most filling two pancakes I have ever had. They were sprinkled with cinnamon which was delicious. Have had the Mexican omelette too which was very good. Nice to see this place start filling up. Also I like that they maintain those plants outside. Nice touch on an otherwise blah block. read more

Initially when I ordered from here I had a good experience, but as I order from online that experience goes down. Most of the food is mediocre and arrives damaged. Service sucks and takes forever. The food isn't that great either.. they do ok on some items, everything else is bland. I don't recommend the Salad, it's flimsy and half empty that you wonder why you're paying for it. read more

The burgers are amazing and you can order delivery on Grub Hub. The fries are not the greatest but you are really in it for the burger. The prices are also pretty reasonable especially compared to other burger joints around the area. I ordered the milkshake and it was terrible. Was a big fan of the prior dinner at this location but finally gave cafe 52 a try. The hamburgers get five stars on the delivery service. I ordered the bacon avocado burger and came in no time. Close to my apartment so convenience is a plus. I ordered eggs, potatoes, and bacon. Nothing special about the food. My sister got the pancakes which are two giant pancakes with cinnamon and powder sugar. Again they were good but nothing special.
