Small cafe with a big menu in downtown Hudson. We decided to try this instead of our usual haunt, Rail Trail. It wasn't very busy but the best table was reserved so we had to sit at a communal one. We were asked if we were in the green club before that group moved elsewhere which was funny. The menu is really diverse. Lots of coffee, hamburgers, breakfast items, crepes and even lobster dishes. We went with the Greek crepe and the spinach themed hamburger. Service is super duper slow. I can't imagine how long the wait is when the place is busy. I tried the coconut cream coffee. Just so so. Not very flavorful. I bought a bag of coffee for my mother and she has reported back that it's great. My friend really enjoyed the crepe. I was disappointed with the burger meal. It said it came with a pickle, chips and slaw and it only came with slaw and by then it was so busy we couldn't get anyone's attention and just wanted to eat and get out of there. The burger was fantastic. I just object to not getting what you're paying for when they leave off items like that. Both items were a bit overpriced in my opinion. I may go back for coffee but unlikely to go back for food any time soon. read more

Cafe 641 is one of my favorites places in Hudson. The new owner has made some serious improvements and the food and drink are top quality. I was hesitant and skeptical after visiting this place a year or more so ago. It was an awful experience with low quality food and low venting capabilities so the whole place was smoky. I am now able to say they have made a complete turn around and I'm psyched to have this place in Hudson! read more

So I come here once or twice a week to study and grab a bite to eat, today there hospitality and service shine threw. I ordered a soup and salad plate and they told me they were out of the soup I wanted (I came in at the end of their lunch special so I understood) They accommodated me with another additional selection with my salad I choose the Turkey Cheese...they came out with a FULL MEAL w/ chips with no additional cost. Cafe 641 on Hudson was a cute and comfortable little place. But a little disappointing. I tried a signature lattes, caramel cookie. Something tasted a little off and there was no cookie crumble like the description. When I questioned it I was told the didn't have it. Maybe u could let people know before they order. Outstanding! We went there tonight for the first time for their Burger and Beer special ~ $8.99 gets you a burger, chips and a beer ~ the burger was absolutely delicious!!! And we loved the comfortable and quaint atmosphere ~ we will definitely be repeat customers!!!! A must try!!! read more

It was our first visit after my son's karate lesson down the street. It was crowded...all seats taken...but we planned to grab something to go. We ordered a large coffee and a bagel (toasted) with cream cheese for my wife and I to split and a milk and muffin for our kids to split. Coffee and milk came promptly (of course) but then the wait began...and we waited and waited and waited for a muffin and bagel to go. While we were waiting 2 annoyed parties came looking for their food and then I decided to see what the wait was as our daughter (22 months) was getting restless. I had to wait a couple of minutes because they were refunding another customer's money ahead of me...hmmm. I asked abut our bagel and muffin and she went to check. I noticed the ticket was in the middle of all of the other order tickets, of course many of those were for crepes, omelettes, etc. She returned to say it would be a little while because of how busy the were. I was annoyed and asked why they wouldn't treat an order such as ours differently? She didn't answer but did ask someone to toast a bagel. By this time, 15 minutes in, we needed to leave. I got the muffin and she refunded my money for the bagel. She was pleasant but not apologetic and didn't make any effort to make things right. They had 5 people working, but seemed very disorganized and in obvious need of a systems revamp. I won't be back...gave 2 stars instead of one because my son liked the muffin. Oh wait I almost forgot the other customer who chewed my wife's ear off about the horrible wait for his food while I was getting my refund. Not a good day for the Cafe...I hope others have better experiences. read more

This was the worst breakfast we've ever had. I don't get all the 5 star reviews. The homefries were sooo undercooked couldn't eat them but everything else was soooo over cooked it was ridiculous. My omelet was crispy all around & my husbands eggs over easy were totally crispy. I also have never gotten breakfast anywhere that you had to pay for toast! Seems like they are more into decor & jazz music than proper cooking. We ate about half our food & felt totally ripped off for $20. Could've had the same greasy meal at McDonald's for $10. One and done. $26.00 for two bacon, egg, cheese wraps that are all wrap with barely any substance. The two large ice lattes cost $5.00 a piece. Food was good and staff was nice enough, but everything else just seemed awkward, If you've never been before, you enter and leave unsure of what to do. 1. When we walked in, we didn't know wether we had to wait to be seated? Unlike most breakfast places you don't, but you don't know that until after you go up to the order counter and ask. 2. Your then told that you order and go sit at a table and they will bring your food and coffee to you. 3. You sit down and the order comes...then you're told you have to go up to condiment stand to get cream, sugar, etc. for coffee 4. Sat back down and realized we weren't brought utensils. Was then told we had to go get those up near the condiment stand also. 4. When we were done eating, we weren't sure wether they cleaned the tables or we had to do that too? We saw a family leave who did not, but something was telling me they expected us to do that. I asked another couple but they didn't know either. As I was talking to them, a waitress came along and said "we don't bus tables" as she started to take our dishes, I told her that was fine, we had no problem bringing our dishes wherever, but how was anyone to know? Anyway, we would know the routine for next time, but the flow is just awkward! They should at least give you your coffee when you order, as you have to walk by the condiment stand to go get a table. Why sit and wait for your coffee to have to get up and go get cream/sugar? read more

Went for breakfast and my husband ordered an omelette. He immediately noticed a very very long hair in it. Without apology the cashier informed the cook who made him a new one. When she brought over the omelette, I pointed out that the cook should be wearing a hair net, I believe it's a law. She awkwardly replied, "ok" After we ate our breakfast the cashier brought over an omelette to-go and finally offered an apology from the cook. Today, my husband went to eat the apology omelette and..... Another hair in it. Had to share. read more

I have had a few pleasant lunches here, my previous lunch was 5 months ago, but unfortunately today I had a totally different experience. I normally do not mind the higher price for better quality but I was not impressed. The service was poor. It took 40 minutes to receive a crepe. I was with two of people, one received the lunch special after 10 minutes and the other received her crepe after 30 minutes. It's very awkward to have such a big time difference. The hand written signs are really unprofessional and difficult to read. The cashier had really low energy and no smile. The lunch special was $13 and included one tortilla folded in half and cut into four with a tiny amount of spinach and feta with a tablespoon of hummus and 4 olives. I asked for a specific coffee flavor and I watched the cashier run out of the coffee mid pour and switch to a different flavor without asking. Yes, both crepes were tasty but not worth the wait. read more

Will never go back. Went this morning with my husband. Waited one hour to get an omelette and order of pancakes. Wound up leaving without eating as after inquiring about order twice, and being told "it was cooking, will be ready next" we never got it. There was no silverware despite numerous customers asking for some, and no skim milk left as they had run out. Overall it is on the fence food anyway but waiting an hour and winding up with nothing was incredibly frustrating. And employees did not care when we said we were leaving after waiting so long, again one hour, added to frustration. Will spread word not to go. read more

The ice cream is great and so is the service. The music is irritating. I would give it a five for service and food if it weren't for the music. I prefer places with music without words so I can focus on my food and the good company of my friends. Also, I can't read a book there with my excellent coffee and crepe because I am focusing on the words of the music. The library will continue to be my favorite "cafe" in Hudson because of this. I would be there all the time reading and studying if it weren't for the music. I recommend Jazz without words to go with the ambiance of the place, rather than the hipster music that was being played recently. read more

Came for breakfast on what was our first and last visit. My husband and I each ordered omelets at the counter, giving his name, and then found seats. We were told that his name would be called when they were delivering the food. A short while later a waiter came out holding 2 plates and yelled "2 omelets" (didn't call a name) which another couple claimed. We had a feeling that they were probably ours as that couple arrived after us. But, we waited and waited and eventually were served. I ordered cheddar cheese on mine, my husband actually asked for extra cheddar. The omelets we received had no sign of any cheese, although upon inquiry we were assured that there was cheese. Where? The bacon was not crispy at all, very soggy, and the home fried potatoes were hard as rock. To their credit they did offer to remake our omelets, but as we were already there for 30-35 minutes or so, we declined. They did refund us the amount paid for the omelets. And the latte I got was good. But overall a very, very disappointing experience. Will not return. read more
