This place is a 10/10 ! Last time here was a couple years ago since then they remodeled and everything is very beautiful. More of a sleek modern vibe but it's very nice setup upon walking in they allow you to seat yourself which is great as it accodomates many seating options from table to booths or if you'd like to sit at the counter. I got the Marlboro omelet which was with steak cheese and originally with mushrooms but i substituted with peppers. The food came out within a good amount of time no complaints there. The presentation of the plate was beautiful and the piece of fruit is such a nice touch. The steak was coooked and seasoned well ! And the food was actually hot which I loveeeee. The service wasn't very good. Our eggs had too much cheese, and we had to buy a small container of pure maple syrup for $3.50. While serving us, our waiter took a breakfast break at a table at the bar, and I had to get her attention because we were given the wrong check. This clearly showed us that the place lacked professionalism and was charging extra for sweet syrup. Walked in for breakfast to a completely empty restaurant ( immediate red flag) . Staff spent more time conversing at the counter than waiting on their two ONLY customers. Waitress was abrupt and not even remotely warm and inviting. She was quick to shut us off not even waiting for us to respond. Food was " subpar" , western omelette was as thin as a fried egg, no cheese and no peppers. Apparently those are extras on a western. Toast came out dry, with butter packets on the side. They brought me a bottle of ketchup for my potatoes that was ice cold! Hard to keep potatoes warm when you put partially frozen ketchup on them. Bacon was tasteless! During the meal the staff all continued to hang out at the counter all conversing and laughing . It took 30 minutes to get the bill after eating and there was no " thank you for your business" from the staff or the owner who as clearly to busy chatting to say good bye. The entire experience was lousy but the staff clearly didnt care about our experience or making any type of positive impression to ensure returning customers. Im pretty certain based on the absence of flow of people coming in and out the restaurant the place wont be open for long unless they start taking some pride in their service. Breakfast special with a my coffee cup refilled at least four times, each time with a smile from a friendly waitress. The breakfast itself was nothing remarkable, but it was exactly what I ordered and that's just fine by me. Everyone is short staffed post-COVID, which is understandable, but how a business decides to address this is the differentiator. My family and I came on a Sunday morning in September at around 9 am, typical. We arrived to find an extremely apathetic and indifferent wait staff. The general impression was that they didn't even want to make eye contact, let alone acknowledge our existence. The proxy for a host was a sign on a station instructing new arrivals to essentially fend for themselves in finding a table. Not really a problem in isolation, but awkward in the face of the rude wait staff. Every open table, of which there were several, had dirty dishes from prior patrons, another sign that the staff wasn't really interested in serving and preferred to send ,"please leave" signals. After standing awkwardly next to a table for 5 minutes hoping someone would even comment that we weren't phantoms, we were passed by two waitresses without even a glance (they literally had to walk around us). One of the waitresses even struck a conversation with a friend / patron at the table next to us to chat about whatever trivial thing was more important than her job. The problem here isn't even really the wait staff, it's the management. This type of reception is symptomatic of a poor culture with respect to customer service. Whether or not this business remains successful on the merits of it's culinary prowess may be irrelevant if theses issues aren't addresses. I would have preferred to leave a review on the food, but we never even had a chance to try it. That will forever remain so as I refuse to support businesses that are so poorly run. If you are even thinking of going here, be forewarned. If you are the business owner, let this be a lesson that wait staff alone can't make up for absentee management. Good luck. read more

I gave this a two star because my brother mentioned that the food here is good. If he had not I would have left a one star review because I sat here for an hour and didn't get menus, drinks, or any service. They were grossly understaffed and that sucks for them, but they actively just ignored us. I guess if you get served the food might be worth it. read more

Easy going atmosphere with a super retro modernized diner set up. Great hospitality from the door to the table. Food timing was average 7-12minute wait. Definitely recommend the Florence omelette, I don't favor tomatoes in my omelette and the server did not hesitate to adjust the order to my taste. Probably the best homefries I've have in a while. Homefries are great. I don't remember any of the rest of my meal, oh, except the coffee was that typical diner coffee and nothing exciting. Here's the exceptional thing about the Main Street Cafe: they serve a decent breakfast AND accept credit cards. Most of the breakfast/lunch diner type spots around here are cash only. Only they are sometimes open for dinner (the schedule is weird call first) and they serve beer and wine. They were fairly inexpensive, although not the least expensive in town (but the other good place doesn't accept credit cards and sometimes you just don't have cash!) I wouldn't drive 20 miles to eat here, but if you live near by, you shoudl definately stop in. read more

I came in here to grab a cup of coffee while having my car serviced nearby. Unbelievably nice staff! The waiter Rafael was fantastic. He makes a damn good cup of iced americano. On top of that, they had recommended certain items to have for breakfast. I had a blueberry muffin that was beautifully toasted and served with butter. Came in on a Saturday around 10:15. Place seemed about average busy. We were seated and got drinks right away. Ordered food and then waited. Kept waiting until 11:00 with no food. Also, other tables seated after us had already received their food. My husband went to counter to ask, and they said our food was up. Waitress then brought over food that wasn't ours. We told her and then she said I'll bring over yours now. She then went to the counter, cleaned up a place setting from a customer who left, and then brought another table their food. At this point, my husband approached another waitress who seemed very frazzled. Instead of trying to figure out what had happened with our food, she stated over and over again that they were short staffed. We then decided to leave and told her. As we were walking out, the second waitress was yelling at cook and our waitress "they are walking out" over and over again. On a recent trip to Maine we were driving along 495 and decided to seek out a non chain resident for lunch. We passed several chains on our way into town before stopping at Main Street Cafe. The menu offers typical "diner" type fare so my wife and I each ordered a tuna melt, hold those fries. The tuna may have been albacore, but it was overwhelmed by the amount of mayonnaise used in the preparation. The single slice of American cheese was representing the "melt' was almost non existent. Can't say this was our best breakfast experience ever. I try to have an open mind, especially now with restaurants hanging by a thread trying to keep things up and running and the employees happy and sane, but we just weren't super impressed. We came by Main Street Cafe for a late breakfast on a Sunday morning, it had been our second choice of places, but we were still pretty excited to try out this local breakfast place. We didn't realize that they closed at noon on Sunday, but we arrived at 11:15am so we were still not the last party to show up for brunch. Upon arriving, we weren't quite greeted as told from across the room that a booth was open for us and the waitress had already gone away by the time we got to the still-wet booth. I waited a bit to sit down, not wanting to get a wet butt or bleach on my clothes and ended up wiping the seat down with my mask. We were greeted by our waitress, given menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We both ordered a coffee and water and took some time to look over the binder of a menu! Coffee was promptly delivered along with creamers on the side. We both decided on ordering the same meal, veggie Benedict which was our favorite meal at our old go-to breakfast place. We had to ask again for our water and waited about 10 more minutes for the water to arrive. We were keeping tabs on the other tables to see when their food was delivered to monitor when we thought our food might arrive, it took longer than we really would've anticipated for eggs to take, again, I know there are things out of whack right now, but I just don't think it should take 45 minutes to get breakfast at a diner. We also had some empty coffee cups at times, which maybe is picky of me, but I just always expect refills of fresh coffee constantly. The food ended up being so-so, my eggs were cooked correctly which I was happy about. The home-fries were fine, but none of the food was amazing. Not sure that we'll be back anytime soon. read more
