Highly recommend the peach smoothies. I come here solely for them. The other smoothies all have giant chunks of ice, but the peach one is smooth and delicious. Service isn't lightning quick, but for a small cafe with 3 or 4 employees on shift, I think that the speed is faster than most other cafes of this size, with the amount of food and drink options they have. I live up the street and always come and get a breaky sandwich on mornings I don't want to cook or when I'm hungover. I love their smoothies, sandwiches, and their bread! I always recommend this spot for breaky when I have friends over or friends visiting Hudson. Also, the music mostly has no words and is low so you can actually converse or read. Their hash browns are the best I've ever had too. This is the only place in Hudson where I can have a coffee and read or do work. Every place else has terrible coffee and is loud. One of our favorite choices in Hudson. They have a great variety of food and drinks. Almost everything we tried was quite tasty. The crepes are their signature dish and they make them well. The atmosphere is rustic/homey, plenty of seating options (from long tables to window seating or comfy lounge chairs). When it comes to the service I cannot be as positive. Although the people are always friendly and apologetic when things take long or go wrong - boy do they sometimes take forever and make a lot of mistakes along the way. They do always fix their mistakes and apologize for the inconvenience. All in all, it's a great place for a long lunch if you're not in a rush and can handle having to send your order back once or twice because they forgot the other half of the ingredients. read more

I liked a lot about this place. The vibe there was friendly and fun, and the menu was also interesting and appealing. They very kindly served free desserts to our large party (8). However, the crepe I got, while tasty, was a terrible value. It was very little food for the money. Others in my party ordered things like omelettes, which were a much better value, with the potatoes, etc. In addition, I really wish they had actual cream for people to put in their coffee and tea. Starbucks has it if you ask, and that really helps people like me who can't have milk or soy or almond, but can have cream. I have not been back because it is pricey. But for people who have lots of disposable income, it would be a fun place. read more

I stopped in here for lunch after working all morning at the nearby dog shelter. It was really good! - It's a great little local place. It looks and feels like a coffee shop; it's dark in there, there are power outlets everywhere, smooth jazz playing. I had no idea what to expect; I was hungry and saw "cafe" and thought "yah they must have food". - I didn't need coffee, so I got a crepe (chicken and some other stuff) and a diet coke. It ran me like twelve bucks! That's a lot! For lunch! BUT - the crepe was awesome - big and filling and really good. It is really dark in here - which I personally like - but check it out - it's like shockingly dim in here. - So - don't know if I'd go back often due to cost - but it is a good option out there if you're looking for a good lunch in a chill place. Trendy spot for breakfast & lunch in downtown Hudson. Always packed for breakfast and lines can be long. Food is ok, they need to clean the grill off better while making omelets and such. I could taste the last item on the grill in my meal. Utensils are not always clean. But it's hip and trendy place to be seen being cool as a cucumber. So, we've been here a lot. We were happy to see a switch in coffee, to Hogan Brothers. The food selection for a weekend breakfast is decent and generally cooked well. The baked goods leave a lot to be desired. Our most recent visit was pretty terrible in terms of service. There were about five people working behind the counter and three parties. Zero table service. Just awkward hanging out and haphazard yelling out when food was ready. We couldn't eat the home fries because they were raw (not total blame here, someone was trying to fill in!) When someone finally came around to see how we were, we mentioned the inedible grub. They said "oh we can give you potatoes on the house next time" and left all our plates on our table and walked back to do nothing behind the counter. It was so awkward! Then the person dug through the bus bucket they leave out front for recycles. It's just a really sloppy way of running breakfast when there is clearly plenty of people working to run a nice breakfast service. Fun place, and the crepes are unique, especially in this area! My kids loved it - we've been here twice, they seem a little overwhelmed on the weekends and it took 40 minutes after we ordered for our breakfast to arrive - luckily we had been the week before midweek and had no such problem. We all order the crapes except my husband who had an omelette - while a nice big portion to us it's seem to be on that was a little overdone - you know with brown spots on the outside from overcooking, but then again maybe were just picky and everyone else likes their omelettes that way... we are definitely going back for the crepes and the locally roasted coffee! read more

The music and atmosphere was great and relaxed, Jazz music playing in the background surrounded by trendy, clean rustic design. $7 for a sandwich was not as pricy as neighboring alternatives. As you can tell from my previous reviews I've been going to the 641 for a while, quite consistently enjoying the food (quality and preparation are superb). All was happiness and light until about two and a half months ago when the service took a serious nosedive. My last three experiences there follow: One of the draws (for me) is you can make custom omelets. Pretty much whatever you're in the mood for they can throw into an omelet. About two and a half months ago I stopped in for an omelet. There was a new server at the counter. It took her 10 minutes to take my order. I even tried to change my order to a sandwich to make life easier and SHE REFUSED. It took so long by the time she finished three people behind me had walked out. In the end I didn't get what I had ordered and it cost $4 more than usual. I figured wait a few weeks for the new help to come up to speed. When I stopped by the next time there was a new server. I ordered a sandwich to play it safe. When I received my food it was not what I ordered but close enough (a croissant instead of English muffin) and the food is sooooo good I ate it anyway. I surmised from a discussion at the counter later that I had actually received the order of the person behind me in line. For Father's Day my wife gave me a 641 gift card, knowing how much I enjoy eating there. When I went in the next day -- new server. I ordered a sandwich, potatoes and a latte. She ran the card through the register, didn't like what she saw, ran the card a second time and stared baffled at the receipts. I pointed out to her she had double charged me for the meal which lead to five minutes of poking at the register screen, etc. until Ana the cook finally came over and semi-straightened the situation out. I received my food. But not my coffee (Ana again coming to the rescue). I hope this improves soon. My office is moving the end of next month which means 641 will no longer be on the way there. Whether I make the detour is at this point doubtful. P.S. If the server is blonde it's safe to go in... read more

Came here because it looked like a cute little cafe to grab breakfast and a flavored latte. The girl at the register looked like she was maybe 15 or so and had the nastiest attitude toward me and my friend from the beginning for no reason. She asked us if we were ready to order and we said "one moment please" and she rolled her eyes and said "ugh." Then we ordered and she charged me $2 extra for my breakfast and she did not honer the price on the board. She said the manager changed it and there's nothing she can do about it. My friend got charged a dollar LESS for her meal for whatever reason. So be aware that the advertised price may not be accurate and you might be under or over charged for your meal. Next she hands us our breakfast and I said thank you. Then she said "here!" And hands us our silverware with an attitude. My latte was made at basically 300 degrees it was so hot it's been 40 minutes and I still can't drink it. The hash browns were so burned I couldn't cut into them, my scrambled eggs were gooey, my toast was burnt and my sausage was too salty to eat. I REALLY wanted to like this place and I am very disappointed that it didn't work out. Needless to say we won't be coming back here again. UPDATE: The manager has reached out to me about making this right. I just haven't had the chance to go back in and try out the food again. But I really appreciate his effort and pleasant attitude to make sure that I have a good experience. I'm sure that day we went in for breakfast (if he was there) we would have had a great experience :) I switched my original 1 star to three stars. read more
