Food: the ube cookie was way too sweet for my taste 2/5, if you like things that just taste like straight sugar that's the cookie for you. The grilled cheese plate is a decent deal for a sandwich and some chips but I probably wouldn't order again as it's overloaded with cheese 3.5/5. Drinks- the strawberry tea is great! 5/5. all pastries are stale and looks like gets recycled for the next day. nothing fresh like the cerritos location. oreo truffles were dry and not the typical moist texture. ube cheesecake was so crumbly and dry; felt like it had been sitting in the fridge for days. tres leche also tasted slightly sour. eh, not sure why this location is still open. read more

Came here to try their ube milkshake and pumpkin ube latte. I thought both drinks were just ok. The ube milkshake was a bit too icy for my liking. I prefer a more creamy milkshake but the ube flavor was pretty good. As for the pumpkin ube latte, I hardly tasted any ube flavor as the pumpkin flavor was more overpowering. They have a good variety of drinks so I will definitely come back to try another one. They also have bakery items with ube flavor which I want to try next time as well. The staff were super nice! I had a few questions about their milk teas and informed them of my preferences and they gave me some recommendations on drinks. We ended up ordering the tiger milk tea & the mermaid milk tea. The mermaid milk tea is their jasmine with sea salt milk tea which was really refreshing. The tiger tea is their mix of thai and milk tea. I wanted the least amount of sugar and it hit the spot for me. It definitely gave me that extra caffeine boost I needed too. read more

Grand opening and it didn't disappoint! Line rounded the corner and was worth the wait. It moved fairly fast and got our food in a decent amount of time considering the long line. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Food: Got the upside down halo halo and strawberry calamansi refresher. Both were good, but the halo halo was on another level. Highly suggested. Get the ube leche flan and ube butter bar. YUM! Ambiance: Loved the decor. Plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. I got excited for the awesome anime wall. Whenever I can find cafe 86, I have to have the upside down halo halo . It has the langka ice cream and crispy corn flakes - not traditional but believe me it's super delicious. Worth every calorie and truly refreshing . It's been super hot so this definitely hits the spot. I am so glad this is close to Alhambra . Parking is easy. Interior is nice , clean , fairly new . The food service here is always super nice and friendly every time I visit. It's a great spot if you're looking for a chill place to hang out or get some studying done. If you're craving Ube or Filipino desserts, this is definitely the place to go. I do wish they offered non-sweet options for their teas, though--everything here tends to be on the sweeter side. Also, I wouldn't recommend the sandwiches. You're better off heading across the street to Sprouts where you can get a bigger one for just five bucks. read more

Parking: shared parking with sprouts and the now closed CVS plaza. It honestly sucks, so I can park in the rear. Full transparency I'm not a huge fan of ube or ube pastries it's over hyped. So this review is not about any of that. The churrochi here is the best of the locations I've been too. Also don't get it with Ube it sucks, always go vanilla for the best balance. 10/10. I go here exclusively for calamansi drinks. I held up on reviewing the first couple weeks since the soft opening because the drinks were not right, they were really bitter even after I mixed them again, some of them tasted like they had no syrup or sweetness. Fast forward a couple weeks and now the drinks are tasting right and I'm happy to say I go here far too often for a drink fix. I regular the calamansi juice here and sometimes the mango peach green tea. I've had the strawberry and dragon fruit calamansi is also delicious, but I've been craving more refreshing vs sweet/sour. A much needed addition to eagle rock, kind of about time really. I really missed the Pasadena location and the Glendale location is incredibly inconvenient and it's not as good. I used to have to go to Northridge for quality, but what a blessing in disguise. Service is good! First time being here since Chowking ran out of Halo Halo. Love the ambiance very Gen Z vibe. Ample of sitting area, wonderful & friendly staff, and drink choices are great. Came for the Halo Halo and they were great only thing is that they do not have red beans in them (oh well). They have some wonderful desserts including the Ube/Flan Cupcake. Great bakery/eatery to get your Filipino dessert cravings satisfied. The Ube monster was delicious, with the chocolate crumbles on top being an amazing sub for coconut latik. My friend also tried the Nutella latte and was very happy. The turon pop tart was amazing. Great and authentic flavor (ask to heat it up!). The ube crinkle cookies were good, though not quite as chewy as I would have liked (more crumbly). The associates were nice and the store looked clean.
