Nice little cafe, great for a quick breakfast or lunch. I really enjoy their Croque Madame and they make nice crepes on weekends. Espresso drinks are well made, I suggest the cappuccino. They also have a nice selection of pastries and tasty soufflés (try the Nutella or peanut butter) that are worth trying. The cafe is doing well 3 years after my first review. My wife and I love their sandwiches, quiche and soup. Their tomato basil soup is the best we have had anywhere. She likes their spicy chicken with goat cheese on cranberry bread. They will make it, even if it's not on the menu. I usually get a prosciutto and cheese baguette. The staff is friendly and helpful. Service is usually quick, although a recently went there and found they had a 20 minutes wait for food. I'm glad they are doing well, but I usually go early to avoid the crowds. read more

They had a very extensive menu but their food is incredibly overpriced and mediocre. My husband got the Croque Monsieur and I got a breakfast croissant. They didn't seem to know how to make either correctly. A Croque Monsieur is supposed to be an open faced sandwich with the cheese and bechamel melted over the top of everything. Instead they made it like a regular sandwich with the meat inside and the cheese on the top slice of bread, and it was barely melted. He said it tasted just OK. For the breakfast croissant you can choose 4 ingredients in addition to the egg. I got spinach, onions, swiss & cheddar. For some bizarre reason they melted the cheddar on the outside of the croissant instead of inside on the egg. It just didn't make any sense. Flavor-wise it was just OK. Prices seemed very high. I wanted to order the chai tea latte that was the special of the day but it was $5! read more

Came in here for a quick brunch. I love that each mimosa you order is $1 less than the first! Their food is so delicious! I had the nutella crepe and my friend had one of their savory crepes. Their menu has a wide variety for a breakfast/lunch restaurant and it is so cutely decorated! The service was amazing as well. Well done Café 906 :) read more

Cafe 906 used to be located in Winter Park. It was the only reason my fiance and I would suffer the traffic. The coffee is perfect and requires no sweetener. The almond croissant is very difficult not to order every time I visit. This is the first time I've actually enjoyed French onion soup, and I *love* it. (Not too salty.) The dishes are perfect and sometimes rich and never too sweet but always sweet enough. There's something simple and deeply satisfying about the food this couple serves. When the cafe disappeared for a while, we were actually devastated. We tried so many places, searching for a nice coffee or tea with breakfast or a delicious, simple lunch. We wasted time and money at so many restaurants and delis and and bakeries. Then one day we took someone's advice and tried "that French place in Baldwin Park with good croissants." We arrived to find the same cafe with a familiar but even broader menu. We're so happy! The waitstaff is friendly and "comfortable," which keeps the atmosphere professional but not fake. The owners are lovely people--real, honest, lovely people. They serve their food with integrity and put effort into preserving what they know is good about each dish/soup/pastry. I feel that some visitors don't consider that some of these foods are at times too simple to alter without creating an entirely different item. All I can suggest is that you set aside some of the expectations/entitlements we've carried over from other restaurants and give this place a shot. Pick something on the menu that sounds good and enjoy! These days, this is the only cafe I patronize. It's the only reason I drive into Baldwin Park. read more

I never write reviews but felt compelled after being treated so rudely. My sister and I were rushing to take our daughters to the chocolate factory- we grabbed two salads to go. After our class we realized there was only one salad In the bag. I went back and the manager proceeded to call me a liar. Customers were looking at me and that's when I walked out without a salad or a refund. I'm better than to be treated this way. Even when ordering, the cashier treated us like we were bothering him. I recommend until the entire staff gets replaced not going. read more

I've been staying with my mom who lives in Baldwin Park for the last 2 weeks and have had a lot of work to do before the holidays begin so decided to check out this cute little cafe which she recommended as is within walking distance of her house. Cafe 906 is INCREDIBLE. I wish I could transport it back home with me. The coffee wonderful, the atmosphere perfect for getting work done (and socializing) and the food to die for. Really authentic French food. However, I must say what makes Cafe 906 better than any other coffee shop is the staff. They are incredibly friendly, polite, helpful and unobtrusive. The warm greeting every time you walk in the door, the smiles on their faces and their passion for the cafe is unbeatable. Special shout out to Alfonso for, after a couple of days of me coming, remembering my order. This is really a place to support, if you live in the area, and worth a trip if you're visiting. read more

If your in town and want to be treated with respect don't go to this restaurant. The owner is extremely rude. I watched him embarrassed a customer in front of everyone because she requested something extra that was not in the menu. He called her a liar because she mentioned that she had the ingredient added to a previous order she had in the past. How rude and lack of respect. Customer are always first! read more

The croissants here are really amazing, I'm a huge bread fan and I LOVE them. With that being said, breakfast is huge for me and I have to say that the service is outstanding, great customer service but the eggs are really disappointing. My eggs were over fried stiff and had no flavor. We went ahead and ordered an omelet to try again and pretty much the same. We've been here a couple of times and the thing we would recommend the most are the croissants that are epic and the hash brown madame. It's made of 4 hash browns with Canadian bacon inside, cheese and fried eggs on top. Probably won't be coming here too often. Great service though. read more

I really, really want to like this place, but I can't. In a nutshell, their food is really hit or miss/not consistent. I've been here about 5 times. Every time I've ordered coffee here, the coffee is cold or, at best, luke warm. Always. I'm not sure how that's possible, but there you have it. I ordered an almond croissant here once, which was cooked very poorly. The center was undercooked and mushy while the outside was hard and dry. I've also ordered a goat cheese & spinach quiche, which was overcooked and bland. I've also ordered the equivalent of their Italian sandwich, which was really bland and the bread was dry/seemed old. Their chocolate croissants though were pretty good as were all the pastries I've had there. The high school kids that work there are also great. Osprey Tavern across the street has better coffee, sandwiches, and pastries, which breaks my heart because there's something so magical about a French Café. And Baldwin Park desperately needs a good café or coffee shop. Sadly, this isn't it. read more

Went today for an early dinner with the family and was shocked with the quality of service and food! We each had a different baguette - I highly recommend the tuna/basil baguette as it was phenomenal . The cappuccino was great and a perfect match with our chocolate pastries! Not a fan and wouldn't go back. Stopped in for breakfast at 11 am so it was not too too busy. Waited quite a while for 2 omelets. I was hungry and died when I saw the omelets. Looked like they were made with 2 eggs, small ones. Overcooked and no taste. We were finished before they brought out the overcooked ham and egg croissant. Sweets range from fruit tarts, eclairs, macaroons or my favorite, the almond croissant, to savory quiches and omelettes. Slowest service ever. They don't bring your coffee/drinks first so prepare to wait 30 minutes for everything.

Usually this place is mediocre, not an amazing, mind blowing experience, but not terrible enough to never come back. I have been there multiple times with the family. My advice for anyone visiting: don't complain about the food. The management is not amenable to dissatisfaction and will be rude/roll their eyes. Clearly, they are not like any other professional restaurant. Either take the food and like it despite how displeasing it is, or be ready to fight. I won't be coming back. This cafe reminds me of being in Paris, wonderful fresh food, best coffee in town. If you want a FRESH French meal, I would come here!
